The thing is nukes only really serve as a deterrent since if they are used it would elicit a nuclear response from the opposing country or its allies and it'll be game over for everyone. The United States does not have manufacturing capabilities. Once two aircraft carriers are injured and repaired, other ships will have to wait in line.
