I know this is from a father's perspective, but I'm a woman, looking to one day adopt, and this poem touched a chord in me (I'm in floods of tears). I wanna say it right now to my future child. If he ever publishes it in a book one day, I'll buy the book and treasure the poem, and when the child is old enough, I'll read it to them, to let them know I was always thinking of them even before we met.
