I have a CLS Shooting Brake AMG 63S and there is no issues whatsoever with my car... The earlier cars with the M157 had scoring issues, but my later 2017 car doesn't /won't suffer with these issues....
I like my Audi RS5 V8 engine better, and I have the the W204 C63 and W205 C63 S Coupe in the garage. They’re all brilliant in their own way, but the way that RS5 revs, matched with a snappy dual clutch transmission is so intoxicating.
I too have a RS5 V8 B8.5 and a E63S Wagon. The RS5 coupe is fun but I enjoy the wagon waaaay more than the Audi. I honestly feel that the MCT in my wagon shifts as quick as the DCT, plus my wagon will absolutely destroy my RS5 all day, every day! 🙂
@@JrRmason Yeah I find the C63 S shifts just as fast too. My RS5 is stage 2 tuned with catless headers and it will only have a slight advantage from a dig over the rear wheel Mercs. I have a Dragy 0-60 of 3.74, but I’ve had a more aggressive TCU tune since. I think both the W204 and W205 C63 will easily pull away from the Audi in a rolling pull. I just enjoy playing with the long gears and revs in the RS5.
@@gotdamn4381 yes but i had 3 friends of me having that m9del..2014 and a 15 one..the 14 ones have over 120k miles one with 150k miles and the 15 with 105k km...not a single issue..your life its different and your experience its not implanted to all cases isnt it?
@@gotdamn4381 i did a research and you are right a lot of engines had this cylinder scoring..m278 and m157..but almost all in usa..not in eu for some reason
dont get me wrong you cant fault the raw sounds of AMG's just love them, had numerous AMG's my E55 M113 engine was the best by far !!! not in sound maybe but the raw power of that supercharge engine is awesome .....

I had a cls550, now I have a cls63 that's the extent of my experience with MB, but there's nothing else I'd rather drive.
The whole V8 Twin Turbo thing is just nuts!
In a bad or good way?
Love mine, 2012 S63 AMG with performance package its a rocketship i drive nationwide over 100,000 miles and going to put another 200,000 on it
It has it's problems but It's truly a powerhouse of an engine. My ML63 putting out 700 hp.
bro i have a ML63 too , how many miles and is it reliable with the tune? am new to it
The m157 was and still is based on the m278 twin turbo v8 engine and was reintroduced in 2012-2013-2014 that’s literally 4 times in a row
most reliable tt v8 are both amg..m177 and the 5.5l v8 tt..by far
Yes well those days are gone

very happy with my RS7. best luxury sportscar ever !!!
that’s just an L take

Cylinder score is very bad in these engines. Eventually all of them start knocking and you then know what is coming... new engine or complete overhaul
not in the biturbo one but the na 5.5l
@@commantrosexetlos4700 Exactly in the biturbo 5.5 M157

Not even close...too many problems, m113K is the best
no. no debate. M113K
brilliant engine !!
No!
This engine has too many plastic parts that becomes brittle and breaks overtime. pains me to think that amg could do this to a flagship v8 engine.
I have heard of those cases, but VERY rare..
The turbos are not plastic
@@thegreypack NO, it's NOT very rare.. go to a dealer and ask them how "Rare" it is XD

M177 better
notorious for oil leaks ?
they just keep adding more plastics and at the price premium, but then again that goes for most cars.
will probably be the last proper sound from an AMG, so a keeper.
@@gheethee I haven't seen anybody with oil leaks.
