I saw Kate play this last night in Portsmouth. Absolutely fantastic gig and one of my favourite songs of hers. I love the interplay between the banjo and the guitar. And those lyrics... what a song!
Words of wisdom from the golden-voiced Barnsley Nightingale! Besides your talent and equally talented band, we love your warmth and humour, and have seen you quite a few times, mostly in Buxton.
Aah first we have to be able to understand the words. I love it all but I want to be able to understand. I know it's not fair that I cannot understand Gaelic, Welsh or Geordie - whatever accent she has. But it's an impediment.
its the first time I've heard kate rusby sing amazing love this song and especially her singing I will look forward to hearing you play at the Mosley folk festival Birmingham in sept ,I wasn't going to go until I heard this song ,
hi Kate, this song is beautiful as always. I have been following your music for 8 years now and have never been disappointed. you are always my go to music and I share it with as many people as I can. I have made it a goal of mine to see you in concert at least once and can't wait until that happens. cheers from Oregon, USA!
Collin, I feel much the same. I am in NY, and I went, with my two daughters, to the 2015 Underneath the Stars Festival. My suggestion, go to the 2017 UtSF Festival, and hope to catch another concert of hers while you are over there as well - can't get enough of Kate Rusby you know. Barnsley, South Yorkshire, and the surrounding areas are wonderful to visit.
I'm a relatively new follower (thanks to Ricky Gervais and Afterlife for the intro), can't believe I was unaware of your talent for so long, guess I've been out of the UK too long.
Kate Rusby could sing the yellow pages to the tune of peppa pig and it would be a wondrous thing indeed; her voice oh her voice
A marvelous voice !

Exactly!

What a voice, just beautiful...
The banjo figures so prominently in this song. Where is the banjo player in the video?
Ron Block from Union Station. He and Damien do a banjo duo. He played all the banjo on LIAPB.
Lyrics anywhere please?
A modern singer singing about contentment? What is this sorcery?!
Strange hearing this without Dan Tyminski's harmony...
C'est pas trop mal mais l'air est different en Francais mais amis English
Love the song, but re: the lyrics:
*altar
