What do you think of Anna Delvey?
I get that she thinks she is hyper intelligent and that it took serious hustle for her to be able to pull a lot of this off. But to me she is - in a way - one of those stupid people who doesn’t understand what it really takes, and that is - integrity and honest hard work.

I think Anna’s boyfriend’s part is the most important in this series.
He is almost a male version of Anna - vague and misleading about their origin, both had minimal experience but sold big and intriguing ideas not anything solid or tangible, both enjoyed lavish lives using others’ money (he boyfriend spent at least 3 million), both took advantage of their connections to have free services. But the endings are different. Anna ended up in jail while he ended up in Dubai and continued calling himself a futurist and getting more money.
Even though he is fictional, he embodies so many other businessmen in this world.

Julia Garner is getting double nominated in 2023 award season; for this role and as Ruth in Ozark. She is definitely WINNING an Emmy for this role. She’s beyond brilliant.

Neff is that partner who was gaslighted enough that all other evidence pointing towards the reality of the person they are so devoted to is not going to be reality or truth. I would like a Psychologists perspective on this behaviour.

I didn't think Vivian was "angry at all men", I thought she was frustrated for being sidelined and ignored after taking the fall for a friend. Jeez, who wrote this summary?
Not disagreeing, but Vivian’s newspaper office drama turning out to be fictional is disappointing, which is probably why they subtly mocked it as a movie trope. The story is fascinating enough, no need for the screenwriter inserting a fictional subplot.

Yeah, I see all these people online praising Neff for being ride or die. This is not the type of person you should be ride or die for. Anna is NOT Neff's friend.

Neff's ego wouldn't allow her to let go of the persona of her friend and just refuse to be called out on her naivety that she fell for the scam.
Of course Neff is in complete denial. Nobody can really get around to being used like that.
So one thing the show never did clear up: where does Anna get all the money she does have, from? I'm not talking when her cards were declined. What about all the money during her stay at the hotel Neff worked at? Neff says at that hotel, all bills were paid and tips were in cash. Where'd that money come from?

A bank who refused the millions of credit loan gave her 200k loan (to recover and not lose their customer) in the film. So maybe she uses that for tips etc.

Those court outfits are cheesy babydoll dresses and chokers that were popular in the 90s. Hardly high fashion.
You should realize that these events, including the court case, occurred in the mid 2010sand these were poignant fashion pieces / styles at the time. Fashion has changed in the last few years.

Julia Garner is a totally amazing and gorgeous actor. As Ruth Langmore in Ozark Julia made herself a big star. Inventing Anna has only accelerated her into the stratosphere. A great production that is riveting from start to finish. Bring on Julia's awards.
This series had the most selfish, self-obsessed, narcissistic, foul-mouthed and insecure characters I've ever seen in my life.

Everyone-from Julia Garner to her real life lawyer to the people she used- even today, all describe her as “so” funny or “hilarious,”in real life and not because of her outrageous behavior. She doesn’t come across as funny at all in the series??
I dated a sociopath/narcissist and when you are looking from the outside in for a few minutes, it does seem shallow and "not funny".

Credit cards can apparently put a name other than legal name on a card. The government documents she could’ve kept hidden like in the series. But also just lied and told people it’s an alias and rich people like her do it for privacy or something.
Anyone else was annoyed by Neff she’s very delusional!! Smh

Neff's boyfriend tried to warn her. There is a scene where Anna stiffed Neff for dinner. Anna's cards were not working and Neff ended up paying the bill. It was far more than Neff could afford. Neff's boyfriend said "This is not the way a heiress moves. This is how a hustler moves."
Jeff is also shown to be a hypocrite. When her job was in jeopardy at the hotel because of Anna’s unpaid bills, she dumped her but she expects Rachel to be chummy with Anna after she stole 62K??

Anna only wishes she was as beautiful as Julia. Unbelievable story about a real life gifted.
Anna is a very likable person despite all the wrongs that she did to want to be fashionable, successful, rich via a shortcut. She is very bold and confident. She was sweet to her friends and I believe she would pay back all the money to her non-rich-friends once she has money even if she is not in jail and forced to. She is taking advantages of the situations and make the best out of it. I wouldn’t say it’s wise when it is illegal, but that’s a very positive attitude in life in general. It’s so very lucky that she get funds from Netflix and can pay her friends back. I believe it’s not the way she would have wanted originally (to become a successful business women and actually have the money to spend and invite friends to enjoy the joys of what money can bring). But it didn’t turn out awfully. So many people are so angry with her and would have said so many nasty things, well everyone deserves a second chance. Why do we have to be nasty instead of being pretty and elegant?

I see the appeal and it is not her looks as they are average by the standards that are floating around these days. She has just enough that make up and designer clothes pushes her over the top along with that high voice and accent. She is doing what we are all taught to do by our parents and society and that is "go for what you want." We cannot let this part of her life go we know it too well. She did what we all should do "believe in yourself" talk like it is already yours, own the room. She is a walking TED Talk. She does have pretty privilege as not all of us in this society would have gotten this far even with confidence. Ironically, her story reminded me to be this bold if I want to separate myself from the crowd. Her ex journalist friend said that she "believed in her own illusions." Maybe delusions but she got far with both it seems.

Were the "scryberia" people real? Those were some of the sweetest people and I hope something like that really happened.
Why didnt the actor who played the lawer shave to match the real life lawer? Just felt weird for that to be the mismatched part.
Was "Val" real or fiction? He was fun either way
I read an article saying Val was fictional and represented the people Anna might have associated with. I loved all those you mentioned too 🤩
Val and Nora were made up people for the show. Nora was suppose to represent the Forbes biggest money makers who she had contact with and val was suppose to represent the high end fashion "connects" like how she was able to be in the first row at Paris fashion week happened because of people like him. They had these 2 represent a group of people so they wouldn't "name drop" all the actual people who had a helping hand in her fraud.
