Aw, that'd be awesome if we could hear that - or any other of her songs. I have to say, it was wonderful watching the look on my mum, aunt and uncle's faces as they listened to this and my mum said "I never thought I'd hear Black Anna again". I heard a few stories of what happene din the pub - it sounded like a hive of activity! I'd love my family to get together and write it all down...
Never realised how good she was in the day and how talented she was, as a teenager living in the sticks I used to love "suit night" which I think was a Thursday night, straight to the JB few beers n singsong, Fish n chips from Valoris and motor bike home! Maybe sometimes stop at the 400 on the way past and still up for work at 6 am!
I have about about 15 min of recordings of Black Anna at the Jolly Butcher, Long John, Water melon, Don't touch, along with some communal singing and Mike Parl on banjo. It's not the world's greatest but I'll try to clean it up and put it on RUclips. Sid
Glad to hear it was a hit with your family MrDom1974. I have taken a look through some of the archives and I believe I have a copy of Watermelon Man, but I’m not sure if I have Biggest And Best In Africa? Hope that helps.
Have you got Watermelon Man and Biggest and the Best in Africa??? My mum, aunt and uncle were talking about her, her pub and life in Norwich!! They loved it :-)

I have been researching my family history and have found out I am related to Black Anna so this was a great find.
I like the enthusiasm. Music should be enjoyed like this. Touch of George Melly =)
it was a privilege to know her and listen to her music
Happy Days. I Was There. Big Thanx to Mike Winton for This.

Grandma Mary
She was my Grandmother's Stepsister
Stefano, with a surname such as yours it must have a connection with Valoris of fish n chip fame!
