The Monster Squad (1987), director Fred Dekker’s campy film about legendary movie monsters uniting to rule the world. The Monster Squad had inspired enthusiasm among Stan Winston’s crewmembers, offering as it did the opportunity to re-create such legendary characters as the Mummy, Wolfman, Dracula, Frankenstein’s monster, and a Gillman reminiscent of the Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Such a great movie, as a kid and even now still holds up... and excellent character designs! Gillman is still hands down the best designed water creature! :D
One of my favorite movies as a child.
My all time favorite film. I remember seeing the VHS in the local video and store and renting it, and watching it, and then crying my eyes out at the end for Phoebe and Frankenstein’s Monster. My mom came running into the room asking what had happened. Still cry every time I watch it. Love all the designs and makeup effects. 💚

The missing part of my childhood 😭 ...Monster Squad was banned in the UK for a line of dialogue deemed unsuitable 🙄 I wonder how my perception of the movie would be if I had seen it as a kid.
Ha, you that was bad. The Australian film censors cut out every scene that showed a monster in Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. More like Abbott and Costello Meet……
