The difference with Spider-Man, to answer Babu, is that Peter Parker is a child...
Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Ant-Man.... all of these other heroes are adults who have chosen the responsibility of becoming a 'protector'. Peter, in this movie, is maybe 16 or 17 and still in school, and tackling all the burdens that only have fallen on the adults previously, as he feels that he will dishonor his Uncle's dying breath if he should fail to prove that he is worthy of his power. He's being forced into a life that he is far too young for, and is giving up his personal life to do it.
Spider-Man, in many aspects, is a tragedy of a boy doomed to live a solitary life to protect the people he cares about.

The name btw wasn't even Stan's, it was Jack Kirby and Joe Simon's drafts, which originally had an adult male with a web-shooting gun, that started it. Ditko was asked to rework the concept, which is where we get teenage Peter Parker, his entire cast of supporting characters, and nearly all of his most iconic villains.
The well-publicised Marvel Style means Stan filled in narrations and dialogue post-facto, letting the artists tell the story whole cloth, and he''d fill in the gaps.
Stan Lee took far more credit than he deserved, but because he had such an affable, friendly demeanor public-facing, it has rarely been challenged in any real capacity. There are accounts from people who worked with him back then that will give you a much clearer picture of how Lee actually operated.

Honestly it really amazes me, that despite these guys spending most of their lives isolated from films we all grew up with and the cultural differences between our upbringings, how well they grasp and understand context and plot of these stories! Raheem at the end saying how this is his favourite superhero because he is different from all the others in the mcu is amazing to hear because he couldn't be more right! He tried explaining that spider man genuinely just saves people and despite babu arguing that the other heroes did too, we only ever see that whenever there was a serious threat occurring, compared to spider man who just saves normal people day to day just because that's who he is! I mean you never see in the films Tony stark gearing up and flying around the city stopping crime. Just goes to show how well these films lay out the principle and chatcter of spider man! Even Raheem remembering that captain america and ant man both get there powers from chemicals and human intervention is impressive

One thing I've always found interesting about the comic world is how they incorporate real world concerns into their stories. To the best of my knowledge, there have been three different explanations as to what affected the spider the bit Peter; the first version saw it affected by electricity, then radiation (during the Cold War), and by the time the 2002 Raimi movies rolled around, it was genetic engineering, a field that was still largely unknown and therefore a source of fear.
Also, can someone please tell the gentlemen Norman wasn't acting innocent, and that when the Goblin personality takes over, Norman is oblivious to what his body has done.

This is also my personal half-joke favorite, but I loved Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin before we found out he was just some guy named Trevor. There was nothing remarkable about him, other than him being a nerd. I think that fits the very definition of a simple or average guy. Face it, he was a loser. The thing about Spider-Man is that he is just a nerdy guy.
He has no charisma, he has no money, he has no special tools or talents.
He just has this weird power.
*Is he strong? Listen, Bud: he's got radioactive blood.*
*In the dead of night, at the scene of a crime,*
*Like a streak of light, he arrives just in time.*
    That's it.
Above lyric by Stan "The Man" Lee.
