    Your channel is so phenomenally helpful. Our son is starting middle school in three weeks, and your advice about scaffolding and the example of the steps for loading the dishwasher are awesome. We’ve been struggling to figure out how to implement new chores and structured responsibilities but will use this as a cornerstone. Your channel gives my husband and I so much hope and real world tools. Thank you so much!

    The only thing is about play dates we don’t have cellphones for our kids, limited use is old ones…
    And same with most other parents I know and friends BUT I only ever indicate a play date WHEN he asks and often give him the phone to ask his friend if he wants to come over on such and such a date.
    This works so well and often they don’t want to play, but sometimes they do.
    ADHD and an introvert with possible other things going on…
    This works for us at just now 11

    This is really helpful thanks a lot .. Could you talk about the behavior of being extremely attached to people or some habits even if they are harmful or they are a waste of time ? 12 and 13 years age girls

    • @ADHDDude
      @ADHDDude  Месяц назад

      Sure, your perception of someone being harmful or a waste of time is not a 12/13 girls perception. Social acceptance is a huge motivator, particularly for those who struggle with making/keeping friends. Please check out the Social Skills playlist here at the channel, and the Socially Smarter course (adhddude.com)

    What about when your child has a homework sheet to complete, thry leave it in their bag and then try to tell you they don't need to do it?

      Ask the teacher to hold them accountable if they don't do it.
