You could do this. As a jeweler and lapidary that has had to fix these scratches before I don’t recommend you test your diamond by scratching it with a verified genuine diamond. If the diamond you are testing is real; it will still be scratched by the diamond you are scratching it with. If you put these scratches in the table of the stone; I will have to polish the table with? ( you guessed it! Diamond! Because only diamond can cut or polish diamond). This will rake the start facets on the top of the crown and the stone will not return light or scintillate correctly because the proportions will be off. Take your jewelry to a reputable jeweler and ask them the to test your stones with specialized equipment. Please do not try to scratch, burn or take any aggressive methods to test a stone. You can damage valuable stones that can cost $1000’s to recut and polish. This will remove some material and decrease the value of the diamond. You would also have to send it out to a lab to be recertified. A BespokeUSA we use non-invasive methods of IR, UV, XRF and good old fashioned microscopes to verify diamonds and gemstones. So take your precious items to a professional.
He said test the real diamond with a fake one
Also, some colorless gemstones aren't fake diamonds, they're other gemstones and have their own value. Ruining a real gemstone just to prove "it's not a diamond" is just a waste of money. Instead, people should educate themselves and use non-invasive methods os identification.
@@badarock177its a fake diamond only because it would be sold as a diamond. Cubic zirconia is a popular diamond replacement cuz it looks super similar so they could easily be sold as diamond.
I will not try to scratch it.
R u rich? How 2 get rich?
Dont try this… real with real will scratch and will destroy the value of your diamond.
That's the point, you intentionally use "cubic zirconia" as your test scratcher, not just any other rock you have😄
too late
He said fake with real
He didn’t use real in real tho
No he said fake with real not real with real🤦🏽♀️
I’m surprised with many people in the jewelry business that cannot tell the difference by looking at it. It took me 2 years to learn how to tell the difference by looking at it. Moissanite, Diamond, CZ, Crystals, Lab Grown and Glass just by looking at it.
I think all jewelers should be able to do this as Diamond testers are not always right.
How can I reach you?
Every tester I have ever used proved my diamonds are real, then I take them to the jewelry store and they say that they are lab-grown or Moissanite. All of this is very crazy to me. A lot of home testing with three different kinds of diamond testers and I've also done visual inspection add to the best of my knowledge these are real diamonds that I have...
I always hear that they are too perfect. "So perfect" that
I believe the stones are naturally assumed to be lab Grown or Moissanite ..... "Somehow they've got to be fake" lol. Yes
even when their equipment tells them it's real diamond.
I love cubic zirconia, who needs over priced diamonds, when you can get something equally pretty for a fraction of the price.
Cubic zirconia look great. Mossinite is another great alternative that is very hard if worried about scratching

You can also breath a fog onto the surface, like you would do to fog your eyeglasses. If fog does not gather on the stone, it is a diamond. Nothing will stick to a diamond's surface.
actually it can lose some of its shine but it can easily be polished again.
That's not correct.
It loses its shine if not taken care of, in other words, shits do stick to its surface

There is a gadget with a pen-head and blinking lights to indicate absolutely if a diamond is real. If the stone is genuine, lights come on and it beeps. It uses electricity and temperature as tests. It is not expensive and is a great way to tell if even the small supporting stones in a piece of jewellery are real diamonds. I have also seen a similar gadget the size of a credit-card, but I haven’t seen those for sale.
When I was in science class my teacher told me that a real diamonds can’t be scratched by your nail so is scratching it with your nail another good way of the scratch test?

I prefer either buying them from a reputable company so you know right off the bat if it's real or fake cuz I love my cubic zirconia stones too and do not want to damage them. Or get a diamond tester. They are super affordable and again no need to damage the beautiful fake diamonds.
Tunksten being underrated and people calling diamonds the hardest material
You can use liquid carbon/oxygen in a cup or a bottle, but before putting them in,heat them with a lighter, then put them in,and in a minute, the real diamond will vanish into pieces cause diamonds contain carbon.
A lot of people get this mixed up, so I understand. it’s not the hardest material on earth, but the toughest. For example, if you made a diamond hammer it would shatter, but if you made a diamond drill bit, it would last for quite a while
You got that reversed. Hardness means scratch resistance, toughness means force resistance.
Turboflex Diamond
And that's why i always wanted Diamond Katana
Bro casually scratching a diamond wort millions
On mohs scale of hardness diamond is the hardest material you can realistically get with a mohs scale of 10. For some context glass is 6 metal 4 to 6 depending on the type plastic at a 3 etc etc. Cubic zirconia is said to be 8 to 8.5 on mohs so it won't scratch a real diamond.
(also I don't condone doing this but you can take a razer and put it on a phones screen and it won't scratch)
So what happens if you use 2 real diamonds? Do they scratch eachother?
