i read folk last month and kind of disappointed by it because the cover is so beautiful and i thought i would enjoy the stories too but unfortunately i didn't. reason....nobody told me its a collection of short stories ( i love read short stories ) and few of then were just brilliant and most of then were like..ummmmm ok....that's all ?
its just didn't work as a whole.

Do check out Mannu Bhandari’s short stories and novels...most of her work revolves around women and is amazing :)
Also there is this hindi novel “mujhe chaand chahiye” by Surendra Verma, which is just mind blowing work. The central character is a small town girl who discovers herself and breaks all the barriers of society to pursue her dreams...I am sure you will love the book. :)
