  • Mary's Blood....Starlight. Saki (currently in Nemophila), was part of this band. It is very cool to see what she does in different band situations. I know she is not the only notable musician from this band........

The all-true Saki can only be heard and seen in Mary's Blood.🤘👑🤘
We fans have to watch out for the Japanese managements of all the great female heavy metal bands. As the members of the bands get older, the management shuts them down. Brutal and ruthless. I have been working with Japanese companies for 20 years. Japanese Management : Almost exclusively older male, utterly conservative, backwards-looking, slow, ruthless to employees, ruthless to partners. I have never met Japanese management in any other way. It is not for nothing that they lag behind South Korea and China in development year after year.

The unsung hero is the drummer of this band. Those double kicks were awesome. Another great reaction Ryan.

It still kind of sad to see this one part of Japanese rock and metal come to an end. Maybe they will come back or not. Mari, the drummer is still uploading solo videos since MB went on hiatus.

Got to know Mary's Blood a little late. But I really like them. Glad to see Saki in Nemophila though. Anyway, I have tried to collect all of the Mary's Blood CDs that I could. They are still part of my Spotify playlist.

To correct you, it is Saki from Mary's Blood. She was coming from MB going to Nemophila. Still sad she left and the Band broke up.
I do not believe that hiatus thing. The time of Saki being a member of MB is over. 😢

The issue with Nemophila and writing their own songs is management, apparently they have a very hands on manager who micromanages everything.

@@RyanMear Seems to be a pattern. We see it in BabyMetal...Band Maid...All the major bands. Management farms out the songs/micro manages up until a certain point is reached. For Band Maid it was 3 albums. BabyMetal has 3 albums but I have a feeling Koba will not give up the reins. And we are currently seeing it in Nemo...They are farming out song writing atm. Curious to see how long Nemo will take before they can start writing their own stuff.

I know Mayu and Haraguchi-san are writing things for Nemophila. Hypnosis and Style are Hara songs and Mayu has written most of the lyrics, I believe they are already on their way to being on their own. Now that Hazuki is free if LiSA X band, she'll hopefully be able to focus on Nemo more

@@RyanMear They currently have a composer/producer attached to them atm. And if the wiki is accurate he works with Saki and they come up with the songs with imput from the other girls. He might not have a heavy hand in the mix but it is there. His name is Kensuke Akiyama. And he is credited for majority of the writing credits for their Revive album.

Mary's Blood they have such a wide range of music over the years. Their live show in Londen was one best shows ever. Eye, SAKI, RIO and Mari, my first love of all the Japanese female metal bands. After listening to BAND-MAID I happen to click on Mary's Blood on RUclips, and SAKI was unbelievable. The song was Crime and Punishment ruclips.net/video/EuAeapbHg-I/видео.html . The thing I noticed was SAKI really lets it go with these ladies; I hope she steps up a little with Nemophila because with Mary's Blood she never once held back. I miss the ladies after Bloody April it was hard for me get use to the fact they will not be around any longer, so I've went hold heart with Nemophila. Thanks Ryan, for the reaction,

RIO plays his signature Sago bass. This shape is not common, but a few companies make similar bass.
Watching Mary's Blood in music videos is like watching a horse in the stable (except for Marienette). The girls played great live and additionally Yashiro plays the second guitar. As there is only the possibility of live, I recommend this version.
Riddle: what do Mary's Blood and Band-Maid have in common? The answer is under the links.

MB and BM share the passion of bassists for American alcohol. Misa had a Jim Beam bottle on the amp, and Rio had Jack Daniel's on (and drank, see Live At Blitz - Make The New World 2018).

Speaking of bassists and alcohol, Rio and Miho have been known to drink together. They should bring MISA along next time and take photos.

I knew about Mary Bloods in 2014. Loved every aspect of their writing and performance. Soon after I discovered the onslaught of Female Japanese acts. The Women in Japan are leading the Wave of Superior World Class Music and quite handily. Japan in general is much more keen on Performance,Art and music and it shows. And not just the females either. This is what happens when your society makes arts as important as academics. Truth.

I could have sworn you have already seen some Mary's Blood clips. In any case, love this band, saw them live in 2019 and they were just in god mode. It was Saki's birthday and the hall full of dorky metal-heads sang her "Happy birthday".

Mary's Blood was a great band and Saki is just pure awesomeness. I really like Nemophila but sometimes think Saki reins in her out and out wildness and freedom on guitar with Nemophila. Whether this is to suit their songs music and to fit in with Hazuki not sure. I got the Bluray The Final Day of Mary's Blood final live concert. The whole Bluray is great as are all of Mar's Blood memebers, but Saki was just in full flow, out and out wildness and power, fantastic

Not the best of Mary's Blood, by far IMHO. I don't like that last album (and even the former one - I have all their albums), the fire was gone and the band is tired. Of course they still play well - they're amazing musicians, but they were much more inspired some years ago. Tempus fugit.

The first three full lengths are all monsters. I didn't like the next two as much at first, but they've grown on me a lot over the years, and now I like them both. The new album's a bit of a cross between 2014-2016 Mary's Blood and 2018-2020 Mary's Blood. I think. Well, that's how it sounds to me anyway. I like it a lot, but for me nothing beats the Countdown to Evolution/Bloody Palace/Fate trilogy, which wasn't really a trilogy, but to me it is.
