Lol. I kissed the ground when hubby and I went into Tijuana. The first time being in a "forgien" country. Many trips followed. 💖 Mexico with our extended family.

Finally , you are back home. I've been thinking about the farmhouse vs the mobile home.
You tell me and it also appears to me that the farmhouse is structurally sound. You say $100,000.00 to convert the farmhouse into a California style mansion. And yet , you are rebuilding the mobile home from the frame to the roof.
It seems to me that with the application of some paint ( so the farmhouse would not look so disjointed ) that it would be a lot less work to make the farmhouse into a comfortable home. Perhaps not a mansion but still a comfortable home. And you could be living in it now ! As opposed to the mobile home which is a major rebuilding task !
Then you could take your time to make the farmhouse into the mansion that you envision.
When we lived in Asheville and had to fly we always drove to Charlotte and left the car there two avoid this. It is a pain
I understand getting home and loving on your garden. You have found the downside of air travel. But happy you all made it home safe and sound.

The 2 days of traveling, especially on the return, were a golden education package for your children. You showed them how to deal with ups/downs of airline travel and it will be so important for them when they become adults. Well done mom & dad.

The joys of air travel. Having gone through that type of thing a few times the last thing you want to be doing is taping a vlog. Well maybe my delays were not as absurd as yours! It is doubly tough when you have to care for kids. You and your kids are real troopers. Makes you appreciate home even more.
When I got out of the Army it took me 3 days to fly from Charleston to Eugene. I think it has something to do with Charleston. LOL
You were so much more natural, in fact, I loved this video of you, you were very endearing to my heart. We got to see you on a different level, got to know you, & now you are finding a real pathway into the hearts of your viewers. I always liked you & cared deeply. But there are levels of loving someone, & then genuinely liking them on many multiple levels additionally. You've hit the jackpot now girl.. I'm only halfway through the video, a bit in tears, but I didn't want to forget the nuances in the video by this point, so this comment wouldn't get bypassed.

Happened to us once when storms delayed flight from Charlotte to Asheville. Closed. No food available. No flight out. Motel close had rooms but restaurant closed and vending machine broken. Night manager made us sandwiches
I loved when you gave your kids some props for being troopers. Next year, flights will be like clockwork.

Going HOME!! No matter how long it took, Home, y'alls Home, was and always will be, right there waiting. Guys I remember when I first moved into my home, I used to find little excuses for things we needed from the store, right down the road, just so I could hear myself say, in some farewell form (lol),
"Alright, y'all have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow, I'm going to head on Home! Glory be to God!"

I’m glad I can post to you here now. For a long time it didn’t allow me. Btw, try raising cotornix quails too. They are very low maintenance and produce tons of eggs.
Someday I want to have a home to hug! That was priceless Meg. Glad you all had fun and got to see everyone. Customer service is left wanting these days. That airport should have provided so much more. Especially for the children. I wouldnt have been able to sleep either.

I've done that before. Been stuck overnight at an airport waiting for a puddle hopper to my final destination, so I try to get rental car but every place is closed or didn't have vehicles that I could afford. I ended up hitchhiking with some other travelers who were able to rent a large van. Still made for a crazy long memorable night.

lol, that reminds me when I was trying to fly from Florida to Albany, NY via Charlotte and I boarded the flights in Florida to Charlotte 2-3x before we finally left, just in time for me to miss my flight from Charlotte to Albany.

That’s the thing about travel, sometimes it goes perfectly, and sometimes it really doesn’t. Saddened that you guys went through that, but glad to see those smiles after you got some sleep! Traveling is an adventure, sometimes more than you thought, lol. We were leaving from Asheville to Cincinnati in our skoolie today for our son to start in a medical trial, and yesterday our skoolie broke down 1.5 miles from home going to the grocery store. Had to get it towed to a garage. We can still leave tomorrow and make it work. We are now planning for my son & I to take a Greyhound bus and still make it to the appt. Haven’t ridden one of those in 20 years, but it will be worth it.
To err is human - to get really fouled up you need a computer....

I cannot tell you how many nights I have spent in airports waiting for the powers that be to get their digits out of their rectums and get me home.
So happy you get to home by car...bit hard for me when stuck in some international airport like San Francisco, LAX or O'Hare and I live in Gympie Queensland Australia.

My wife and I still see each video and share as much as we can when we learn, share, discuss and see what you do on your space and we do on our 300 square feet.
The only advantage to flying out or into a major hub, is that food and drink is available. When I got home to Palm Springs CA my last flight. There was no wheelchair waiting for me. It was dark and everyone got out of the terminal leaving me in an area where I couldn't get my bearings. It was dark so I couldn't see our mountains! I caught up with hubby outside and some yodal read us the riot act because he was picking me up in a NO PARKING zone! Mind you. I was the last flight in and there was NOONE parked outside, REALLY? SERIOUSLY? I had a few unkind words for him. Arugh.
I so appreciate how laid back AVL airport is, but have definitely observed they're not quite as polished in their procedures as a busier airport. Still thankful for it and glad y'all made it back safely
