I like your analyzes about the John Mayer
Collaboration watches make a brand appear desperate for recognition. Rolex handles this correctly by letting people come up with the goofy nicknames for their watches and not acknowledging it on the case back or dial. I agree that too many new or limited editions cheapens the brand.

Thank you Eric! Who gives a +×÷= about John Mayer and his watch preferences? He's an amazing singer, songwriter and producer most likely. But watch trend setter? Any type of trend setter? Who wakes up and thinks I want to wear what John Mayer wants to wear like fr!?! Watches, clothes, cars, etc. etc. So tired of John Mayer and watches and whoever nicknamed it John Mayer Daytona! How many normal watch enthusiasts out there thought of that and other future collectibles before he chimed in?

The John Mayer dial is cool, but all in all I'm not a fan of AP. Definitely go with Patek and then Rolex over AP any day.

I only have an AP royal oak offshore and after couple of years, i just knew that AP caliber was not fantastic if compared to PP or VC (on the same category), even if i move down to lower level category in terms of pricing, the caliber reliability also cannot come near to my rolex and grand seiko. But if you have lots of monies and can just change watch like you upgrade your phone, then go buy AP, else take my advice, simply go for an entry level rolex or gs is good enough for day to day, if staying in not so safe environment, gs will be better because wearing rolex may get rob......lol

I love AP, own a couple RO but I have to agree that AP is pumping out watches way too fast. Would like them to slow down a bit. Starting to push me away from the brand.
I couldn’t agree more Eric! AP. Is totally milking the Royal Oak line lol. They are very pretty though. And I still can’t get over the “limited” editions as they ALL are limited nowadays lol. And I would NEVER buy a John Mayer edition watch lol. 😂

I don’t know if they’re great they’re pretty ugly to me. I wouldn’t spend my money on a AP if they were cheap as hell I don’t understand the phenomenon about AP. I mean, there’s only one watch which is the Royal Oak. That’s really worth anything. The rest are big waste of money.
