      CycleCruza its funny you mentioned Racers Edge in Cincinnati(Bethel, Ohio), I live 10 minutes up the road from them and is where I bought my 04 suzuki gs500f for $1300 with 7,860 miles and all that was wrong with it was previous owner dropped it at low speed (possibly sitting still), I put 160 in 2 fairings off ebay and now have a clean, low mile, 1 owner starter bike! and as fast as they come in and out the door is an under statement, they sometime sell before they have a chance to check them out and put them on there site! love your vids man keep them coming!

    Don't forget about the cost of insurance, if you plan on riding on the road.

    • @CycleCruza
      @CycleCruza  7 лет назад +51

      Cheap bike just need the basic, no need for comprehensive which can make insurance much cheaper. Many dudes don;t even carry insurance. Cops NEVER ask for insurance proof when in a motorcycle here in Ohio. I've never been carded for insurance on a motorcycle ever. However, you risk being liable if you cause a bad accident and it's your fault.

    • @DonovanRuckman
      @DonovanRuckman 7 лет назад +7

      Not to mention, here in Ohio, the only required coverage is Liability as a minimum. 16$ a month for my R6. (But I get full insurance because I'm accident prone) ;)

    • @ChrisJohn_444
      @ChrisJohn_444 7 лет назад +2

      Wow, ya, I just didn't think opening yourself up to that much liability was a very good option. In Canada, without insurance, moto riders forfeit the right to sue other drivers/riders who cause an accident. But, for riding on public roads, insurance is mandatory, even if cops don't ask you for it. Of course, there are the guys who run from cops and/or who just generally go too fast to be caught. If they're in an accident, though, it's a majorly f'd up day.
      More, the difference in cost between liability coverage and comprehensive coverage is marginal - mine was only a difference of $12 per month. And, I've never seen liability coverage cost anywhere near as low $16 a month in Canada, especially not for a supersport. Our fire coverage costs $40 a month and that's just for parking it in a garage! Who's your insurance company Red Wolf? (I would like to see if they have a Canadian counterpart). ;)
      Having said all of that it's still better (for everyone) for people to ride a motorcycle, without insurance, that they bought rather than it is for them to ride one they got for free because they stole it. haha

    • @DonovanRuckman
      @DonovanRuckman 7 лет назад +5

      I have Progressive and moved from a 2015 300cc Honda CB300f (Which was 12$ a month Liability) to a 2007 R6 (16$ a month Liability)

    • @ChrisJohn_444
      @ChrisJohn_444 7 лет назад +2

      Red Wolf Rider Ya, Progressive isn't in Canada, but $16 a month is HELLA cheap for a Supersport, even if it is only for liability coverage.

    If you have a strict budget and want to get into bikes I think you need to broaden your criteria. You won't be able to find the sickest looking, fastest, lowest maintenance bike. But what you will find is cheap thrills and a good learning experience! Just get on a bike however you need to.

    Yep, its true! I got my 1st street bike on craigslist, listed for $1200 and got it for $1000. It was an 02 aprilia rsv1000 mille converted to street fighter. All it needed was a $25 clutch bearing to get it on the road. Truly a badass lookin bike and wayyyyy fun to ride. Gets complements almost every time I take her out. Its completely possible to get a bike you're gonna love on a budget. Just have patience, a chunk of change, and watch the listings for a while. Good luck, Dreams come true sometimes!

    I followed CCs strategy on paying cash. I shopped all the bike sites for almost a solid year. I saved up, worked an extra job and waited. I found a show room condition Yamaha 1300 vstar tourer. Think HD Heritage Softail. I only paid $4000 for the bike, $185 for a year of insurance and $285 in tax and title; for a grand total of $4470. And it’s completely paid for No Payments!! It is an awesome feeling to look in the garage and see “my” bike, not the bank’s bike. Stick it out, it’s worth it!

      The issue with it needing a stator is you wont know if thats the actual issue until you tear it a[art. Gotta trust the previous owner on that one why wouldnt they fix a 60 buck part, with the stator and tire you are looking at a grand. You can get a F4 with a good rear tire for like 1200-1300 i would suggest that

    If you are comfortable working on bikes, or learning to, the best value is something that needs work. Also bikes that generally don't sell for much because they are dated/ugly but can be made to look nice. I got a 2002 Bandit 600 that was wrecked with 7,000 miles on it for $500 it ran and the engine was perfect. I had to put a rim, and forks on it and other small stuff, take all the plastics off and make it a street fighter. And now its painted and I get tons of compliments on how good it looks, total cost was around 1000.

Still need to get a panda mic, jacket, pants, & the bike. The grind is real I feel imo most people don't want to get side jobs to earn extra money for the things they want because they want to spend time with family or whatever. That is all good but if you really want something you gotta sacrifice time to get what you want in your life just comes down to how bad you want/need it in your life.

    For someone who wants a pretty cheap bike thats arguably the most reliable bike of all time you should get a honda shadow 750. You can get one in good shape for 3 grand thats less than ten years old easy. The oil change interval is 8k miles in the owners manual and basically you just need that and tires and youll be good for years with a honda shadow with little to no other maintenance.

    i agree on the dual sport, in mexico we have more biginners bikes that are awesome and cheap, they range from 110cc 125,150,180,200,250cc all the way to super sports japanese bikes in my opinion small Chinese bike is the best starter bike just to learn and jump to higher cc

  • @madmaxxmad2
    @madmaxxmad2 7 лет назад

    I would agree on the dual sport comment. however, I would say if you only had one bike and it was going to be a dual sport you still need to consider what percentage of riding you are doing Dirt/Street. It will dramatically change the cost of tires. You also might want more CC's if you are doing mostly street or any freeway. My DRZ400S does okay on the freeway, but my DL1000 is much much better. So if I only could have one it would in the 600cc range.

But that's the cool thing about the internet, everybody can be a tuff guy. Until I steal your bike and make you cry. But it shouldn't be a problem, I got into this business because some riders wanted a new bike, dudn't gave any money but did have a lot of insurance. So, I am not actually a thief, I am more of a middle man, a go between. The problem is, I'll need to hire someone pretty soon, or increase my hiurs from 20 to 40 a week, because parts don't stay on the shelf long.

    More with the "this bike is too powerful for a new rider" crap. When will people understand that one motorcycle is not more dangerous than any other? MOTORCYCLES ARE INANIMATE OBJECTS. THERE IS NO DIFFERENT LEVEL OF INHERENT DANGER IN ONE FROM ANOTHER. The only thing that makes a bike dangerous is its rider. You can run up under a semi on a Rebel 250 just as well as a CBR1000RR. But to the point of the video, it's never been a better time to be a buyer. If you have cash in hand you can get a fucking killer bike at thousands below blue book. But fuck all these old beater bikes Cruza is looking at. You can get a killer MODERN bike with 2 or 3 grand.

      It takes all of 3 minutes to learn to "control" a motorcycle. The chance of crashing is exactly the same on both bikes. You just have this idiotic idea that the bigger the engine is the harder it is to control. That is simply false. Higher CC bikes go just as slow as small ones.

      Oh, okay! Let's give a toddler an AK47 instead of a BB gun because you know "they're inanimate objects" and "there is no different level of inherent danger". Because y'know a bullet is a just a giant BB, right? As long as the kid can control it he won't kill anyone.

      Idiotic analogy. Only a fool would give a toddler any type of firing weapon. A bike is a transportation tool. Buy the bike you want FIRST. Learn carefully and slowly. The people that say this bike or that bike is too anything for a new rider is an idiot that hasn't clearly thought out his position.
