Aeterna was on a wish lit of mine since last year Gen Con and most recent Essen Spiel. Any Euro game from Martin Wallace gets instant interest from me, just with Ares wasn't so bad on their release dates.
I hope you find time to play and review Iron Forest soon! I'm looking forward to playing it. (However, the box size is aggravating. It doesn't fit well anywhere.)
Incal Infinite is based off an Alejandro Jodorowsky comic book. I’m not into comics so I don’t know anything about it. But Jodorowsky is a master of odd movies. So the theme of the game will probably be pretty unique.
is it just because Tom is overwhelmed by the amount of things he has to review and the lack of space, that hes constantly upset at big boxes? I would think semi-casual gamers would be thrilled to have extra extravagant pieces, and the fact that we are in a golden age of well crafted big games. im not saying its invalid for him to complain about it, I have my beef with plenty of board game issues, but its incessant.
@ I agree, they are definitely harder than just carrying around an AllPlay game like Chomp, but a large box is not just full of meaningless bricks. it has a higher quality, higher detail, and higher value of game within it that makes it worth the cumbersome-ness of it.
@ maybe… there is an argument to be made that a small number of big box games are low quality or value, but I would say the vast amount of small box games that are quickly being made (and I would say for a quick review) are of lower quality and just lower value based on pricing and cardboard vs plastic pieces. But there are some, albeit few, high quality small box games.
Unboxing, meditation in motion!
Fortunately I added Farshore to my Everdell Duo order, and thus got a proper box.
Wow. I see all that dust spreading in the air and I think Anthrax. 😂
Hello Tom!
A Jodorowsky and Moebius board game? Neat :).

Same thing happened to me with my Everdell Duo... That fluff gets EVERYWHERE.
maybe this is deja vu, but I could swear that I have seen this same unboxing video a couple weeks ago.
Impossible, we just sent "Chemical Overload" to the show like a week ago :)

Thank you Tom, and the Dice Tower crew for unboxing our game Chemical Overload. We hope you have time to play and enjoy it!
Did Everdell and Isle of Cats not work at 2 or is there just a bandwagon being jumped on?
I like Isle of Cats just fine at 2p unless there aren't enough basket cards in the deal of cards.
Bandwagon. Making a two player only version out of 2-4 tile laying game is crazy work.
6:05 are you in the future now?
Shame about the damage to the Kabuto Sumo chest ☹ Typical mail handler 'care'
I HATE those envelopes.
Word!

The giant boxes are tiresome. Heavy to lug around and significantly impact/limit storage space.

Sorry, but quality, detail, and value have nothing to do with size. There may be a correlation but there is no causation 😅

I'm tired of games not fitting into my apartment. If I can fit 3+ games in the space of 1, I will
