I’ve been interested in the drifter and that is how I found your channel, albeit six years later and you’ve probably forgotten about doing this review, but I liked your review style so much, I’ve subscribed to your channel on the strength of it. I tend to watch a lot of reviews and some reviewers stand out from the crowd and you’re definitely a stand out reviewer. Informative, smooth and comfortable delivery - a conversational style which is a pleasure to listen to and makes me want to hear more. Some reviewers are just so irritating with their false emotions and gimmicks. You’re the opposite of that. You’re a pleasure to listen to and you seem trustworthy. It’s obvious that you know what you’re talking about. I’m watching this from England by the way, so you’re world famous now 😃 I think you need some acknowledgment for a job well done. I hope you’re well and I’m going to check out the rest of your channel now. Cheers.

In 2018 I purchased a pair of TCX Drifter boots based on this video. The best ADV boots I have ever used. I love them. I have worn them on BDR trails and in meetings at work for rides after. Great boots. Thanks for the review.

This is still an awesome adventure boot with a classic, non-plastic styling. There are a lot of great uber-protective hinged boot designs out there now but there is also a new, more minimalist class of moto camper like myself these days who use very light bikes like the Husqy FE 350/501 to actually just ride to camp, hunt, fish, and explore instead of just riding for the sake of riding.

Hi and thank you for a great review!
I'd like to add yet another aspect to the use of this boot, which actually also has to do with aesthetics. Yes, this is a boot aimed at adventure touring. But here's the thing: I drive a power cruiser. And sometimes I'm out on longer touring runs. For quite a while now, I've felt that the traditional "cruiser boot" (you know - the cowboy or engineer models out there) just don't give me all I want when on the long haul. Sure, there are waterproof models, but regarding safety/protection? No, not really. And on the other hand, the boots that traditionally offer a higher level of that, just don't look right on a cruiser. Yes I'm vain! :-D
So, I've been searching for a compromise. I live in Sweden, so waterproof is a must even during summer touring. I simply want something that's a bit more safe, with cool, useful features, but also has the more classic looks, if you know what I mean? I find that this boot may be what I've been looking for. Classic look, with a cool twist, sort of - and the safety/touring features to go with that.
What are your thoughts on that? Would these work for looong power cruising? ;-) Thanks and cheers from Sweden!

Hi, how would you compare the sizing of tcx drifter and forma adventure? (In the video tcx appears to be slightly bigger if they are both the same size). I have formas low version and 43 fits fits me perfect even though my regular shoe size is 42 (wide feet), does that mean I should order tcx one size up as well or just the right size? As you might’ve guessed it I’m in between the forma adventure and tcx drifter. Thanx.

Aside from the Forma's the TCX is very close to the Gaerne Balanced Oiled Boot. How would you characterize the differences between the TCX and the Gaerne Balanced Oiled Boot? Great reviews. Thx

Wadz, the TCX has a bit more ankle support, due to the inserts in that area. Conversely, the Balance has it (and practically every other boot) covered for being more comfortable. HTH...

Atomic-Moto good points. Do you believe this boot is narrow enough to fit under an over the boot style pant I.e Olympia X Moto 2 adventure pant. Thx

which is a better boot and why, the Drifter or the Forma terra evo?

    • @AtomicMoto

They are quite close. But we give an edge to the Terra Evo. They have a more protective ankle design, so more protection, and slightly better build quality. Most importantly, Forma USA is one of our best vendors for after sale support.

Bought these to commute , only in few months the waterproofness is gone , at the place where shifting gear and rear brake are pressed. Very dissapointed , now the boot have extra layer which warms the foot and does nothing else , which is useless as I live in the tropics
