    How well prepared do the beds need to be for the 71? Does it need a full till or is discing sufficient? You are doing something very similar to what I would like to do. My tractor is about the same size, only orange, and the plot I want to do is about the same. I am using some land on an old farm hasn’t grown anything but hay in decades. I have looked at the JD 7000 and 7100 planters, but they seem overkill. Thank you.

      We mainly use a king cutter rotor tiller for our small fields as seen above. This pulverizes the soil quite a bit. However, last spring we planted into lightly disked soil with varying degrees of success. It mainly comes down to soil type. If you have a soil with lots of clay, consider making multiple passes with a disk. If the soil is loamy or sandy, a pass with a disk is typically enough we have found.

    is that pipe or round bar stock for the markers video was going to fast and moving around to get a good look

      Those are pipes, though round bar stock would have added some much needed weight to the markers.
