+Stanley I'll tell you now, this game saved my life when I was in a dark place many years ago. If theres one FF game i can recommend to someone where the story isn't totally mind numbingly cliche. This would be the game. I HIGHLY suggest you pick it up. The odd voice acting only adds flavor, but in the end the game is magical.

FWTrump The story is actually pretty epic... and the music at each point in the story fits it perfectly, captures the right emotions, and this theme was the tearjerker theme for the game. I suppose the normal US version of the game doesn't get you quite as involved as the international edition though it still does a fairly good job of it.
