The Pockets
The coolest pockets I’ve ever designed, now rule supreme. I never thought the pockets of the Deep Pocket Duffle could be dethroned because they’re so awesome, but then… but then I designed this 16” Tumbled Drawstring Backpack that launches today and it now wears his brother’s crown.
The inside pocket IS the outside pocket TOO and you can get pens and coins out of the same pocket from inside the backpack or from the outside access. Wait until you get your hands in these. You can also tuck the pocket’s flap into the pocket itself and quickly put a big Yeti tumbler, baby bottle or Nalgene water bottle into that pocket from the outside.
The Function
I spent well over a year designing, redesigning and daily field testing this 16” Tumbled Drawstring around the world to be easy to use, large enough, durable and lighter-weight, just like what we got with the super popular 12” Tumbled Drawstring backpack. Since this backpack has ample room, when those pockets are stuffed out, they still don’t get in the way of laptops or iPads in the built-in protective laptop sleeve.
The Leather
I was going after a simple well broken-in looking backpack that formed to the body right away and that’s what I got with the tumbled leather. It's the same thickness, same price and gets the same gorgeous patina as our normal premium leather and the only differences are the rough and tumble look, the broken in feel and that pebbled leather is stronger than normal boot leather, according to the tannery owner. Actually, pebbled leather is one of the things the Italian tanners are famous for. I won’t be using it for many designs, but it was perfect for this one.
