8:25 Hi Jamie. I am a privacy and data protection consultant (let me know if you need any assistance for your business!). This is an interesting scenario. If the bank in question truly believe it's you, then you could raise a Subject Access Request to see what information they hold on 'you'. They may/should then ask you for a copy of your ID to prove it's you that is making the request and if it matches what they have on their system then great. Then have a look at the copies of ID they have been provided with your details (because technically it's your name/photo etc on the ID I guess if someone is pretending to be you) and verify it against your original ID to see if it's fake or not. By law they cannot deny access to your data (unless under very exceptional circumstances but that does not apply here) and they have one calendar month to comply with the request.

@ yes so by quoting “data protection” to deny access to “your” data, they are probably breaking data protection law themselves since you have a legal right to access it.

If your strategy is flipping, would remortgaging to release the additional equity before selling be a way to avoid the bulk of the CGT?

Not really, I wouldn't have a mortgage on it for a Flip, but it would be in a LTD company to reduce my tax
