    Love your videos! But damn, you were the almost last BrewTuber not on the clawhammer system ;)
    Love your Garage setup though! Great job and now feel intrigued to do a Kölsch😊

    This round of the WBC has been the best of all of them.
    I see that you are a baseball cap fan. What's your favorite cap design? Mine favs are: New Zealand, Curacao, Cuba, and the number one was the China cap.

    I've had my eye on this kit so it was nice to see someone try it out, and what made it even better was when you decided to brew a Kölsch. Yum. My #1 style!

    Nice looking system. You can get your wort cooled down to pitching temps in one pass through your chiller? I need to recirculate through a counter flow chiller for a few minutes to get to pitching temps. Anyway, congrats on the upgrade. I think you’ll love brewing on a electric system.

    • @ElementaryBrewingCo
      @ElementaryBrewingCo  Год назад +1

      Winter ground water temps…68 F, straight from kettle to fermenter. Now when summer hits it’s going to be a different story, probably need to recirculate for a bit.

    I am new to homebrewing but I am a mechanic at a soda plant and when we have a gasket that does like yours on your fermentation tank we put just a tiny bit of food grade lube on the back just enough to hold it in place. That might help. Great video always enjoy your stuff

    Great video, I have the 110v clawhammer system and enjoy it very much. One day I plan to get that 240v controller as the heat times Im sure are closer to what you get from a propane burner. One of the things I like to do is run the thermometer on the out spigot while I mash just to double check that the controller and mash temp are sthe same. Also by turning the flow down on the pump as you cool will get you much better cooling temps. I believe Martin Keine did a side by side with the exchilerator and ate chiller abouta month ago that I found very helpful. You should also try a kettle sour now that you can hold higher temps for a steady time, it would make a great video. Thanks for all the great content!
    Cheers

    I have that same Northern Brewer fermenter and I have the same issues, every time. Watch out for the cheap gaskets as well.

      Ya it took some fiddling and replacing of the o ring on the sample port as well but once I upgraded those I had no real issues.

  • @Tinystrom
    @Tinystrom Год назад

    Definitely going to need to move your pulley system over for that grain basket! If you are confident in your cleat securement you may even be able to skip the “hooks” for the grain basket completely. What an ending to that game last night! My girlfriend even woke me up before my night shift after the grand slam. Cheers and happy Sunday!

    Great video! I have the same system and have found that I can lower the plate chiller wort out temperature by reducing the flow with the kettle out valve, allowing the wort more heat transfer time in the plate chiller. Hope it works for you too. 🍻

    Where there differences in efficiency when switching systems?

    • @ElementaryBrewingCo
      @ElementaryBrewingCo  Год назад

      I knew my old system very well and was getting great efficiency. I am still figuring out this new system and did see a drop in efficiency with it but I’m sure once I get it dialed in it will improve. I think my old, used grain mill needs updating too and would help with efficiency as well, cheers 🍻

    Think maybe a little keg lube, on the gasket, would help hold it to lid some?

    The basket system on the clawhammer system is an accident waiting to happen in my opinion. Otherwise seems to be a decent system. Maybe a bit over priced for most homebrewers. Just an opinion. Good video bro!

      The modularity of it is nice, but yeah they definitely need to update the basket and kettle to be like every other AIO system with the simple lift and twist. The hooks are a boneheaded design choice IMO
