Htg, this song is amazing! I may not be a devout Christian but really the song can speak to anyone. For anyone that struggles with something it feels like they can't make it to the next day. And this song speaks to that.

This song reminded me of Saul/Paul. I had just read about his life's story and how he, despite his imprisonment and aged and broken body from all the flogging and whips, carried through his missions to spread the messages that Jesus shared. I venture to say his devotion rivals that of Peter's. He accepted his fate, knowing the outcome would outlive him and spread like wildfire.
I don't know how but I didn't know I'd need this as much as I do right now... I started choking up at the lyrics and the voices... It's so hard. It's so fuckin hard to be good when the world seems to punish you for it... It's like to be a good person and kind the world-the people will destroy it with all their might rather than kindle those precious flames. I'm just. Thank you both.
I completely understand. It's not easy. Jesus said we would be persecuted because the darkness hates the light. Take comfort in knowing that Jesus is victorious. Everything will be made right. Jesus will return and reign upon this earth, then we go on into eternity with Him. This is a short time and God will be glorified. Evil cannot defeat the goodness of Christ. It encourages me to look at the lives of the saints and martyrs throughout church history. God was with them and will be with us. I also get encouragement from the persecuted church worldwide. Richard Wurmbrand and Corrie ten Boom lived through horrific regimes, but shined like lights in the darkness. Never lose hope. Draw near to Jesus and dwell in His love, goodness, righteousness, peace, and joy. Try to share this with people. If they reject it, pray for them. Human rejection, cruelty, and hatred cannot extinguish the goodness of Christ. Many regimes have tried throughout history, and even today governments try to fight it, yet fail. The governments in North Korea, China, and Iran have tried to destroy the church, but the church grows under persecution. May God bless you, encourage you, and give you peace in this challenging time. May you always know the goodness of Jesus. May the Lord give you rest and protection as you seek His good will. 💛

Thank you guys for this song. I absolutely love it. It's very timely for times we live in. I'm a Born-again Christian, and I've been coming to realize more and more of how much it is that shame affects how we see ourselves as people, whether Christian or not. What is a shame is just how many Christians fail to realize how affected and motivated they are by shame, and how that shame affects people around them.
This song resonates with what’s happening with my husband right now; he’s going through a very long processing through horrible traumas that happened to him so he can stop hurting himself and those around him. Is there anybody out there
Is there anyone that's left
Is there any way I can make it out alive
What is left that they've not taken
What is left beyond the pain
What is left of Truth when I only hear their lies
There's a fire in my heart to keep the dark at bay
But my defenses have decayed
So I pray for a change to begin inside
For the courage to not run and hide
Is it shame is it fear that controls my mind
When I wake, I can't tell what is right from the wrong
But no matter what happens I must carry on
In the darkness before the dawn
In the darkness before the dawn
I can feel my body shaking
I can feel all of the fears
I can feel the demons but I can't let them win
My broken heart is weary, and my
My broken words confess
My broken spirit will conquer every sin
There's a fire in my heart to keep the dark at bay
But defenses have decayed
So I pray for a change to begin inside
For the courage to not run and hide
Is it shame is it fear that controls my mind
When I wake I can't tell what is right from the wrong
But no matter what happens I must carry on
In the darkness before the dawn
So I take on the change that begins inside
For the courage to not run and hide
No more shame, no more fear to control my mind

First time listening to this song during Nano NA Tour AND I FOUND OUT THIS IS SUCH A BANGER ! I was headbanging so much when watching it live
AWESOME SAUCE!!!!👏🤘👏🤘👏🤘 Caleb and Lacey you two absolutely KILLED this song!!! Skillet vibes GALORE!!! I literally have it on repeat and can't get enough of it!!! Thank you both sooo much!!!
So cool to see someone I was in youth group with collabing with someone I listened to on the way too and from said youth group! Keep it up Caleb!
I’m an Atheist that grew up on Christian Pop/Rock music. One of my complaints on those genres of music (especially Christian Pop) was that every song sounded the same to me. But this? This is legitimately one of the best Christian Rock songs I have ever heard, and probably one of the first in a long time I will play on repeat. You’re a goddamn legend, Caleb. This song fuckin rocks!
Same, that's why I don't generally listen to Christian music, but this one is so different, I love it
Thank you so much for making a song that will be stuck in my head for weeks now! This is so good, good job! 👍
I can't even tell you how much i love this song. Like when I'm in the car and i put this song I'm SCREAMING SINGING.
“ There’s a fire in my heart to keep the dark at bay, but my defenses have decayed!” My god that is such a great and powerful line
I don’t think I could accurately describe how much I love this song. The lyrics send chills down my spine
Hello Caleb. This song of yours with Lacey has become one of my favorites so much so that I listen to it almost every day. God bless you greatly.
This song is amazing my friends and I love it so much, that we decided to use this song as our theme for our DND Resident Evil campaign where we are all trapped in a facility in the Philippines and there is a huge zombie outbreak. Love you so much Caleb keep being awesome.
I'm fighting for my life and sanity with a mystery illness right now. This speaks to my soul. I'm digging my feet in and slamming my shield down cause my family needs me.
I've listened nearly 20 times since this released and I'm still loving every moment! Fantastic piece here!
I went on RUclips to put a song that I like a lot (Tears Don't Fall - Bullet for my Valentine) but the ad for your song came up, I liked it so much that I came here
And sorry for the bad English, I'm using Google translator, a hug from Brazil 🇧🇷
Song is so Badass. Sounds like an anthem before a boss battle. Will probably use for inspiration for my homebrew dnd game. ❤❤
I was so not prepared to find a new favorite song today. I don't know if I have ever related to a song more. The world needs this song.
Everything I have been feeling spiritually for the last year. Thank you so much for putting in song form 💓💓
I listened to the radio for the first time in a long time, heard this song I did a double take. Glad to see him in the mainstream.
O...M...Goodness!!! I had shivers, what an amazing song! I like Caleb a lot, but I was excited as soon as I saw Lacey featured. I must admit, this was not at all what I thought it was going to be. Well done both of you.
This song was fire to begin with….and then I saw the picture of Mary on her stand….It. Just. Hit.
Got this song as an advertisement. Was the only ad I didn't skip 👍

I am going through an bad break up and this song is giving me strength to move forward with my life even though its hard ❤
I love watching Lacey sing…. At 1:47 you can see how the music just flows and come out, she feels the music
The collab I never expected yet not unwelcomed.
This is amazing on so many levels!! It sounds amazing, and the fact that Caleb got the opportunity to work with one of his(and my) big inspirations, as well as working with Judge and Jury, and reuniting Lacey with her former producer. Man, shows how far you can really make it if you put in the work and let God lead you. God bless you Caleb, and thank you for being my inspiration!
Yo I don’t think I’ve ever been this early to a video premiere in my life but only a few seconds in I was already hooked.🤩🤩
I'm so stoked to see more and more people on RUclips roll out their own music. This song and your album are absolutely great.
Great seeing two of my favorite artists collab. Never expected this collab, but it’s awesome!
3 months late, but being a huge fan of From the Dark, I have to say I'm super proud of you.
Absolute Banger, this song popped into my YT recommendations and man, I absolutely love this track.
I rarely like to post comments out on youtube but I absolutely love this song (I've been looking for something like this to listen to for so long!) and appreciate the effort that went into writing and producing this song!
thank you friend 🙏
I love the way you incorporate your faith into your music. Even if it's subtle, it is masterfully done! What a great song!
Listened to this 6 times in a row and plan to many more times ,im just in awe of your talent every track you put out is just gold
So good, guitar + violin, best combo ever
Are you sure this isn't a skillet cover? major skillet vibes coming from this. Glad to see Caleb moving up in the world
THATS WHAT I SAID IT REMINDED ME OF THE SKILLET SONGS
Thank you guys for this song. I absolutely love it. It's very timely for times we live in. I'm a Born-again Christian, and I've been coming to realize more and more of how much it is that shame affects how we see ourselves as people, whether Christian or not. What is a shame is just how many Christians fail to realize how affected and motivated they are by shame, and how that shame affects people around them.
I came here from an ad, not regret to search it right away.. good job guys
Epic and inspirational. Can't say enough good things about this track, man. Well-done! 🤘
She feels every word she sings and her expressions in her face are priceless, love it
If this Song DOESN'T chart WE RIOT!!!!!! This is an amazingly beautiful piece that hits on so many levels 👏 👏👏👏👏
This song resonates with what’s happening with my husband right now; he’s going through a very long processing through horrible traumas that happened to him so he can stop hurting himself and those around him. He’s going to get better, but things are hard right now for my family. But we’re stronger than ever. 🤍
Caleb has really hit his stride, and Lacey has not lost a single step! Fantastic duet you two!
Great song! First one I've heard from Caleb. I WILL be checking out more.
I swear that since I heard this song for the first time I can't stop listening to it, I've lost count of how many times I've repeated the song XD this song is so awesome!
Love it! Caleb and Lacey! My ears are happy and have another song from you to get stuck in my head!
This song is has such a mental health connection and I love and relate to it completely this song is amazing now excuse me I keep replaying this as I head to work.
Lacey?! From Flyleaf?!!! Bruuuuhh. Very unexpected Collab. 10/10.
This needs to be viewed more. I loved the emotional feel this man put into this, and it can certainly be played in an emotional movie’s credits. Let’s give Caleb more subscribers and make this his most popular song. ❤❤
Dang two artists I love slaying it!!! Keep at it, both of y’all bring lots of joy to us
I am now regretting not getting to this channel sooner! amazing music! BRAVO!
