I'm from Uruguay. In 1972 our rugby team Old Christians' plane crushed into the Andes mountains. The survivor's' history was wonderfully brought into the screen through the film Alive. When I saw the film for the first time, I heard this song superbly performed by Aaron, at the end. Since then, I can't listen this song without remembering the film. Thanks, Aaron.
"Alive" was an amazing, spiritually rich, and uplifting movie! And, yes, Aaron is a phenomenal singer and the best choice to close that film with his version of Ave Maria! BTW, there was also a (bad) Mexico-produced version of the same story, called "Survive," filmed in 1976. Also, it was the Andes mountains.
Aaron Neville to me has probably the most beautiful masterpiece of a voice i have EVER heard. He brings tears to my eyes, his voice honors the Angels. Just incredible.
