"Mary on Horseback" by Rosemary Wells is a short account of several of Mary's adventures. Written for the young reader, the book is moving and inspiring for any age.
I found this very moving. My father, a minister, was teaching in Maryville, TN, a few years later and served a few rural parishes in the same way, on horseback. Hazard KY is still a poor and underserved part of our country, I think. Sad in this rich nation.
This is the main reason you need to oust Mitch McConnell. He's not working to better Kentucky. You need an honest, hard-working Senator - either Democrat or Republican. McConnell is only looking out for his own interests. Kentucky doesn't need to be treated like this, but as long as your voters don't ditch Mitch, nothing will change. .
Hazard, KY is the same town where it "rained meat" about that time. Experts think it was from vultures flying overhead. The farmer, whose land this happened over, tried selling the meat to the local butcher. He refused to buy it lol.
This is an amazing record of the time. Sadly the US is experiencing maternal deaths at a much higher rate than other equally developed countries and with current attacks on women's health care options and lack of a cohesive health care system for all Americans maternal deaths will continue to increase. On another topic, I think this is a stepping stone to our own Call the Midwife series. This would be fantastic to see in a historical fiction treatment on TV.
Adam, I am totally with you, Unfortunately, Amy McGrath wasn't up to it -- McConnell is all about (and only about) power. I'm putting all I can afford into the GA runoffs, our last hope for the moment, of a return to sanity.
Wish they could’ve done a voiceover. It would helpful for people who are blind or low vision like me.
Or some music like a true silent movie.
@@maureennelson4513 Hahaha yes. Indeed.
I am an MSN RN and enjoyed this

I just read it. It's really very good.

@@ryanblack2986 I think it's much more likely the meats been jettisoned from a plane.

I don't understand why they can't do a voice over. This would be much more interesting if you didn't have to read it.
It would be helpful to me because I’m blind.
Ethical nursing even way back then. What a daisy!

ill rather ride a horse then bother with problms with car and motorcycles
5mins "wasted" time on a "silent" documentary
I wish they'd at least had music, for a laugh and a bit of nostalgia.
