About Dude Dad:
Hi! I'm Taylor Calmus, a Colorado-based actor/comedian. I started Dude Dad© two weeks before my son Theo was born as a way to stay creative while learning to be a father. My wife Heidi and I now have 3 kids and over 300+ videos. My purpose for the channel is to entertain, enlighten and inspire.
In addition to Dude Dad©, I have been in numerous TV shows, commercials, and have regular appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live. I will also be hosting my own TV show called "Super Dad" on the new Magnolia Network / Discovery+. Heidi and the kids will also be a part of the show. I am originally from the rural community of Howard, South Dakota.

I love how the comb also looks like a shiv for when the dad jokes timing isn’t great. Haha
My mom delivered 7 children and the best advice she gave me was ‘it’s a day out of your life’ and to never let go of your strength. Those words have kept me going throughout my whole life.
Love this.
I think we all want a “cooking from bedside” episode
"Babe, keep it down over there! The steak is searing!"
just as long as we don't have a michael scott george foreman grill incident. can you imagine heidi's foot in bubble wrap during delivery?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
@@DudeDad 😂🤣😂🤣
As a postpartum nurse I’m very curious about how that will go over with the staff 😂
I’m a labor and delivery nurse and I would LOVE to have a patient like you and a husband support person like Taylor!!! Flapjacks and laughs throughout the whole labor!!!
I'm afraid that if Tyler actually tells her those jokes while she's in labor she's going to stab him with that rat-rail comb.
I was thinking the same thing 😂
It looked like a weapon in her hand - and if you have been with a woman in labor...I could see it happening
When Heidi was demonstrating the use of the comb I was thinking she was going to say something about sharing her pain with Taylor by stabbing him with the end of the comb.😂
He definitely noticed how close and stabby it looked!
Great minds Sue. I thought the plan was he should share the pain.
I sincerely pray Heidi’s labor is short and baby Kelso is healthy.
God bless you, Taylor, Heidi, Theo, Juno, Otto & new baby Kelso ❤❤
is hat new baby's name? when/ where did they announce that?
Awww, that's a super cool name☆☆~I was guessing they might choose Nico for new Baby Boy♡♡...Praying ALL goes safely and really smoothly~Blessings from Holly in Surprise, AZ:)
@@karenlu8840n a short about how how Colorado parents choose their kids names. They revealed it will be Kelso
Oh my gosh I was wondering what "O" name they would go with. I love it!!❤
I think she understood the assignment. LOL
Are you kidding?? This man is so sweet! And so is Heidi. We need a lot of this DNA combo. Good on you for making extra people!
I had 6kids in 6years
That peppermint essential oil will stay with Taylor until the kid's first birthday 😂
Yes, yes it will.
His neck right up there by his earlobes are feeling weirdly cold right now.
Major Payne "wanna let me show you a little tricky to take your mind off that pain? Here... Grab this comb..."
That movie is hilarious
Heidi looks amazing, and totally ready 😊 prayers to all for a safe and healthy delivery
Re-watching this after the birth video is quite amusing since (spoiler alert) things once they started went by so fast. No time for all their things lol.
I was thinking the same thing!
Watched this before and after the actual birth. Thought it was funny before the birth. But watching now after what really happened during the birth. They didn't have time for any of that stuff. Goes to to show you life is what happens while you're busy making plans. Glad everything is OK now. And you are enjoying time with your family
Taylor, your a sweet guy and Heidi and your kids are so lucky to have you. That was a sweet poem and I almost cried. Hold onto to that poem and when your little one is an adult, he'll see this poem. Congrats! 🎉❤
The poem sounded like a Dr. Suess book 😂
The book could be called, "Labor Day." 😅
Thought the comb was a makeshift shank.. “you did this to me” lol
All the best. Our baby is 2 weeks old. Just went through this. May it go as well for you as it went for us.
Congrats!!
@@bygraceonly182 Thanks Caitlin. Am i right in saying your are expecting your third? Congrats! You say are loving in the South? Is that the South of the US? 'cause we are in the South of Africa. :) We share the same views on Grace. ;)
Heidi honey, you look ready but still absolutely beautiful. Saying prayers for you and a safe delivery. Taylor, I know you will be the best labor coach because you love your Heidi.
As a mom of two disabled boys, this is spot on. I spend a lot of time in hospitals. I bring my own sleeping pad, griddle, essential oils, etc... The only thing you missed is a Keurig machine. I have one that is only for my hospital stays and I can't live without it
I used a jacuzzi during my labor with our 2nd kiddo and it definitely helped. It also helped with softening the perineum to encourage less tearing.
Every little bit helps I'm sure
Totally agree with the robe idea: basically anything that makes you feel comfortable or gives a sense of normalcy.
Absolutely adorable! I hope Heidi has a short labor and you both have a healthy baby!
God bless you both! Exciting and nerve racking all at once.
I had my 4th last May, and had a completely unexpected C-section. So my suggestion is, if you haven’t had any C-sections (as I hadn’t), look into what to expect, just in case. I felt totally unprepared, because it wasn’t on my radar, and I didn’t think it could happen to me. Hopefully you get your beautiful, natural birth!
Wishing you a safe and healthy delivery Heidi, can't wait too see baby boy ❤
Can’t wait to meet your new addition! So happy for you all. Thank you for keeping our whole family smiling. My son (6) and daughter (3) still want to watch you everyday. 😍
Praying for you guys 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you for sharing!!
Bring the Pam to grease the griddle 😂 might help the perineum as well
Wishing you a reasonably comfortable labor and birthing experience! I hope the water helps ease your sweet little baby's transition to earth side ❤️ Much love to you all as you navigate this chapter of your lives 🍀
Highly recommend putting the essential oils on a cotton ball and then you can get it away from you if it's too much for you. We tried some with labor #4 and baby did NOT take well to the clary sage, so I was glad the nurses had recommended the cotton ball instead of direct application.
My husband and I love Watching these videos together! We have 3 little ones.. I wish that our hospital would have offered a water birth! Something I've always wanted to experience!!🥰🧡💛Congratulations on your new little one!
I like how Rosanne put it “you’ll be fine. muscles stretch…bones break” 🤗 good luck
Currently pregnant with our #5 and those pancake images have me wanting to pull out the griddle!
Love watching your channel and this is helping me mentally prep. I personally want to leave early enough this time to use the tub. Also, I'd bring chargers for your devices. Wanting to use a cute delivery gown this time but wonder if it will just get dirty. Make sure to stay hydrated from the start, maybe bring electrolytes as well as snacks that contain protein.
Good luck to you, Heidi! I used warm water for pain management in all of my births and one of them was a water birth. It was amazingly helpful, especially for back labor.
Watching this as I’m also waiting to go into labor 😊 I hope you have an easy and quick labor!
You're glowing mama! Praying for a healthy and safe delivery for you both ❤
Laboring in the bath as long as you can is a super helpful tip! Takes a lot of the pain away ❤
Holy Shit, girl. 4TH RODEO. I applauded you both. Get this one done. #nanainwaiting. 😂
By far the absolute cutest thing ever. Taylor you are amazingly supportive. Heidi you are such a treasure. Good thoughts and wishes for your birth. ❤
Sending prayers for a safe delivery❤
On a side note, these 2 are definitely “couple goals”! Keep doing what you do you two! ❤
I think I see dude dad birthing robes coming soon 😂 love you both and blessings to you and your beautiful family ❤️
Water births are AMAZING!! I gave birth at home in a tub two times, and it's incredible. I could never do it any other way 😆
I live for their videos! Taylor, Heidi and their gang of O’s are the best!
Do you know the story behind that?
Love how Heidi had all these things in her list to use and her birth was less than 5 minutes 😅. You never know what to expect!
Good luck to you both! I love your relationship with eachother 💗! Thank you for your example!
I loved this one. You both are so adorable. I hope you have a easy birth with zero complications. Surprised no air fryer but pancakes are awesome too. Good luck to both of you & congratulations.
Water is your friend for sure❤ I went into labor early in the morning and even though we had prepared for every scenario we didn't think about the timer on our hot water heater so it took much longer to fill our birth tub than planned😅. When I finally crawled in there it was such a relief. Remember to drink lots of fluids as the warmth in the water can be really dehydrating if you're not drinking between contractions. Popsicles are also amazing. The Pedialyte pops work well. You're going to do fantastic 💞
Y’all are a hoot 😉 Blessings to your family during this Blessed event 💖🙋♀️🇨🇱
One trick that worked well for my wife: When you're having contractions, don't scrunch up your forehead. Relaxing it gives you something else to focus on and keeps electrical signals moving. It'll reduce pain.
This is great! Lots of love and prayers to you, I hope labor and delivery go well!
Sooo sweet! That poem ❤❤❤. I cried.
Taylor is such a good husband! So happy for you Heidi! I appreciate all the tips for new moms to be. I had no idea about the comb. I’ll remember that one!
And she can poke Taylor with the tail end whenever he tells a bad joke!
Been loving all your preggo videos as we are due with #4 on 2 weeks :)
Thanks for the comb advice. I'm due in a little over 2 months and will definitely bring one! I wish you both a safe and pleasant delivery. A video on Heidi talking about the water birth would be cool to see!
Such a cute couple!! Laughter is great pain relief too so the dad jokes book is a winner! 😂
Hi guys. I can’t believe it’s already that time. I feel like you just made the announcement.😃
Thanks for sharing this video. I enjoyed the combination of facts and helpful tips with fun and pure nonsense.😂😂💕
Yes and yes to being in the tub! I had one hospital birth that was super traumatic. The next 3 births I had at a birthing center and was in the tub. 100% different experience! It's just like being in a Jacuzzi. You feel so much more relaxed and your muscles get a chance to relax and rest. And being in water helps you move around much easier.
Thank you Heidi! These are great tips ❤
I'm due with number four in just 9 weeks 🥰 Good luck to you both 🙃
Love you guys!
Where were you and these great tips when I gave birth in a military hospital in Germany at midnight on Labor Day weekend. Starving afterwards and no food available except a lean cuisine from the nursing staff. Ugh. Of course this was before air fryers and cool pancake griddles (and you both) were invented! Wishing Heidi a speedy, easy labor and delivery.
I love the comb idea!! Wish I thought about that when I was in labor lol My husband was the same way with sleeping. He only slept when the epidural allowed me to sleep 😂😂
Meditation worked for my pain. No epi or drugs. You have to make sure the room is quiet though👿
I just delivered less than 2 weeks ago and the nurse offered me a comb. I had no idea what it was intended for, so I was like nah I'm good lol
Anyone else get a little concerned with the very long, pointy end? There does come that point right before the epidural when you get a little angry.
Epidural and a deck of cards is all you need.
Praying for your baby and delivery🙏🏻
Good luck. Love yall 💓
I was all about the yoga ball during my last two labors 😊 Best wishes to you Heidi for a safe and easy delivery!
I have an uncle that would bring a suit and tie because first impressions matter.
Taylor & Heidi, please have more kids. You create cute kids!!! 💕
You guys are an awesome couple I wish u nothing but the best with your labor and little ones
My absolute necessities when giving birth:
Chapstick.
Charge cords and extension cord for electronics because the outlets are always fifty yards from the bed.
Chapstick.
Fuzzy socks because you get cold.
Chapstick.
My own pillow, with a waterproof protective cover on it, because birth is messy and hospital pillows are garbage.
Chapstick.
All my favorite snacks and all my husband's favorite snacks.
Did I mention chapstick?
Chapstick.
ALL. THE. CHAPSTICK.
I hope your labor is awesome and empowering and has zero complications! You got this!
THE POEM! So cute. Great items, Heidi. I found a yoga ball and hot water helped me labor and manage pain as well.
Lol. Love it! Just have my 4th. Good luck guys!!
I can’t wait to see what Heidi used or what works after!!!
Aww! But you can't be done yet, Juno wants a sister! 😘 love you guys and your beautiful family.
"Oh, I'm gonna eat the whole time"
You GO, Mama!! 😂
At the end of the day if Mum and Bub are fine...and Dad hasn't burned the Hospital down - Good result!
I love this couple…the poem was beautiful… 😢😊❤
I loved watching the oven clock go from 4:12 PM - 4:44 PM! What a journey.
I lllooooovvvvveeee the poem though!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Bless you Heidi, I could not deal with the jokes In labor.
Love essential oils! Praying for healthy and safe delivery for all.
Love watching you guys!
thanks for watchin' HEIDI!
@@DudeDad My Daughter and Son in Law used to live in Fort Collins. They now live in Eagle CO. Colorado is such a beautiful state!
Omg ,I love you guys 😂
Love it, love it, love it.
Okay, but that poem is so sweet!! ❤
Best of luck, guys!
Can I comment on how cute Heidi’s outfit is? Love it!!! I’d wear that even when not pregnant!
Tyler is so hilarious!!! Heidi looks absolutely gorgeous. I looked like a beached whale when I was about to pop. 😂
I never comment but this is so close to home! I just had my 2nd 4 days ago. First thing I ate was hospital pancakes and they were amazing. I had the opportunity to use a bathtub and it was very helpful. And that poem made me cry! I'm blaming postpartum hormones 😂 Best of luck for a smooth, quick, and easy labor and delivery!
Congrats form Minnesota!!!!!!
I have had six children, and I can't imagine eating right after delivery. But I love the idea of cooking in the hospital room and serving the nurses. Heidi, don't be afraid to reject the food. Tyler, you having fun with it will still help Heidi, even if she doesn't eat.
Thanks for sharing these tips! 😊👍❤️
P.S. I love the letter! Very cheesy, but so sweet! 😊👍❤️
Off topic - I love that you keep the Christmas photo cards up on display! ♥️🎄
we can't be the only ones!?
@@DudeDad I have never seen anyone do it before. I’m going to start! 😍🎄
@@DudeDad We keep ours on display too and change them out each year! ❤️
You two are very funny!!
Please please please please please never ever ever break up! You guys are meant to be together forever and ever and ever 💕
I brought depends. So when I bled afrwards I didn't have to worry about leakage when people came to see me. Loved it best advice I was ever given.
This is so true! I did the same until the heavier bleeding stopped and it was a game changer.
Absolutely! I wore depends for days! So much easier than pads. My older kid thought it was hilarious that mommy was wearing a diaper.
Never heard of the comb method! Brilliant 🎉
Praying for you all❤
My daughter and son in law are expecting their first!! She's an NNP at Children's Colo and due in July! So thankful for the tips, y'all are amazing 🤩. Ordering the Dad joke book soon!
This is so sweet. I couldn’t imagine not having my husband by my side during labor. ❤❤❤❤
Wish I'd know about that comb method last year when I had my first mad contractions in my back was barely able to catch a breath they were right on top of each other.
Cant wait to see new baby
