First time I listened to 'it's about time', on radio, the radio presenter mentioned Boomshaka as the artist. I was so inspired to the extent that I had to come to SA in 1997. Honestly, music is the main reason that I came to SA. On arriving, the culture and positivity of South Africans gave me a whole new experience and perspective on life. That cultural impact shaped my character forever. I'm so grateful for what SA has given me.
I remember that group but I have to say what destroyed many groups this thing of going solo is the reason why many are struggling financially today we have groups like tk zee, boom shaka, Prophets of the City and others all these groups were destroyed I don't know whether is greed or what
Thembi o fumane Sediba sa Batjha ❤ Le Carol Bouwer 😍.. Lekgowa leo Bouwer le ja ha monate 😂.. le Thembi ke mma. Kamo o swanetse go tsea dinoutse.3 years later o sa na le boima bja ngwana ebile ke motantshi
I'm sorry but this interview leaves a lot to be desired. The interviewer was so unnecessarily focused on the lyrics and apparent explicit dancing of the group. She reduced them to nothing more than "naughty kids" when in fact they were a legendary band at the cusp of a revolutionary time in SA's history. You can hear Thembi and Theo trying so hard to emphasize that truth and steer the interview towards something more meaningful to no avail. Boom Shaka was a phenomenon that will never be repeated in SA's history. They infused American and Jamaican styles into the kwaito foundation, creating not only a new genre of music but became the amplifier of the average young person in a changing SA. Young people desperately needed a concise identity to express themselves and Boom Shaka gave it to us packaged neatly in some timeless hits. The whole entire world was watching SA in 1994. Everyone was figuring out who they were in the post-apartheid world and Boom Shaka was one of the groups leading the way. They are icons beyond all measure and this interview truly saddens me for missing the chance to give them their flowers.
Beyonce was still young and unknown, Boom Shaka theme and appearance creative where around people like Alyia, Brandy and Tony Braxton we did not even know there will be a Beyonce.
They don't understand what their music did.......the GOATS!!!!.....Ms Seete needs to share her backwards aging...usemhle maan🥰❤

Madiba was not ready to see Lebo nyash😂😂😂😂 there was no beef
Sabc news need to focus on interviews like this one and stay far far away from politics.
That’s Theo .. looks different
❤❤❤❤❤❤
They change their music genre to reggae? I think they can do a major impact on that one.
Thembi is Adeline 🤞🏻 doesn’t age
There was even a rumour that Theo was a woman 🤦🏾♀️ old school conspiracy theories, we believed such silly things.
😂😂😂😂
Rumour still has it that she is a woman bcos nobody has seen him (her) naked, and he still wears baggy clothes.. 😅😅😅
❤

I also do not like this thing of our women working while they are on their circle. They should be given leave every month.
Theo's beard came out way too late
It's about time. Lebo started beyonce.
