Friends, if we throw light on the biography of Neem Karoli Baba, then we come to know that Neem Karoli Baba was born in Akbarpur village of Uttar Pradesh around 1900.
His father's name was Shri Durga Prasad. Neem Karoli Baba's real name was Shri Lakshmi Narayan Sharma. As long as Baba was alive, people used to call him by names like Neem Karoli Baba, Laxman Das Handiwale Baba, Tikoniawale Baba, Talaiyawale Baba.
Friends, very few people know that Baba Ji was a married man. Yes friends, Baba Ji got married at the age of 11. After completing the responsibilities of his family life, Baba Ji left his home in 1958.
And started wandering like sages all over North India. During that time he came to be known as Laxman Das Handi Wale Baba Tikonia Wale Baba.
When Kanya of Gujarat did penance in Morbi, there they started calling him Talaiya wale Baba. Kainchi Dham near Nainital, Uttarakhand, Baba Neeb karoli came here for the first time in 1961 and along with his old friend Purnanand ji, he thought of building an ashram here and finally on June 15, 1964, Baba established the Kainchi Dham Ashram here.
To commemorate this occasion, Kainchi Dham fair is organized every year on 15th June. On this day, lakhs of people from India and abroad come here to see him with the desire to fulfill their desired wishes.
The story of Steve Jobs, owner of the world famous Apple company, is quite famous among the devotees of Neem Karoli Baba, in which it is said that when Steve Jobs was very worried about his career, he came here to meet Baba. Then Baba picked up an apple from him and after eating a little apple, gave it to Steve Jobs and said that now your work will be done. Then Steve Jobs made the eaten apple the logo of his company and founded the Apple company. Apart from Steve Jobs, famous murders like Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg, Hollywood actress, Julia Roberts and most recently Virat Kohli have come here, after which the lives of all of them have changed.
Friends, carrying mobile inside the ashram is not allowed. Still I try to understand your inner views. This is the main entrance inside the ashram. As soon as you go inside, you will see devotees performing Ramdhani to the tune of Dholak and Harmonium in a very melodious voice. Apart from this, you can see the footprints of Baba Ji inside. Inside you will also see the temple of Hanuman ji and Durga Maa. After that you will see the statue of Neemkari Baba covered with a blanket. From there, while going through the parikrama route, you will also see the temple of Shdhwi Maa Temple.
