The notorious lich Vecna is weaving a ritual to eliminate good, obliterate the gods, and subjugate all worlds. Well, since you _did_ mention that the _Rod of Seven Parts_ would be involved, you can flat out expect Miska the Wolf Spider _of all monsters_ would get involved.
I've never seen the Rod of Seven Parts fully assembled. I don't think it's ever been fully assembled since it was shattered in Miska the Wolf Spider's defeat. I believe pieces were used to stop Kyuss in The Age of Worms.
There was a 2nd edition adventure module on the artifact itself. Yep. Listening to this, this does mention the Wolf Spider demons.
They hunt the rod pieces in order to free Miskha, their general. Now I gotta go look through it all.
Damn, Miska is HUGELY important to the history of the setting, the abyss, and the multiverse. Maybe we'll get to see the queen of chaos as well!

Also, as someone who started playing TTRPG with AD&D 2e, it's nice to hear that monsters like the tanar'ri are back.
Miska the Wolf Spider, not only a champion of Chaos, is the second prince of demons, one who will enter in eternal conflict against Demogorgon and Obox-Ob in claiming the throne of the Abyss, I'm exited, I hope that Obox-Ob, the Queen of Chaos, Pazuzu and Dagon appear too.
So happy they have more Stat blocks and art for Tasha/Iggwilv recently since she is my favorite classic wizard in D&D. ❤
Really hope we are getting "new" Skull Lord(s). Love them and their lore of how the first was created by Vecna while enraged after Kas' betrayal. They had some terrifying abilities in older editions. Fingers crossed.
They were already in Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes.
@@SwiftNimblefoot I know, but they were watered down compared to the previous editions. Since they are tied directly to Vecna, they would be a great addition since MToF has been more or less written off now.

The monsters in all the recent books have been similar to how it sounds like they plan to format the 2024 MM. Less nonmagical resistance, more Counterspell as a class feature, less overwhelming spell lists and slots, etc.

@@mslabo102s2 This one is overblown, there are some monsters in the most recent books that have legendary actions (the baby elder god in Shattered Obelisk comes to mind). But there are less of them.
This is the first adventure I've bought I'm hoping it lives up to my hype/hope 😅

This is an up-and-coming adventure book for Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition.
So it’s 5e or the next edition or whatever we’re calling it
It's going to be 5e (think this is the last published book under 5e), but most likely, due to the events of this adventure, lead into the next-gen of the system.
5E remains 5E, they won't rename it. The new rulebooks will add to the system but not overwrite it.
We just going to not talk about the fruit loop on his sweater?

Exactly my thoughts. One of my players actually sent me the video (since after WBtW, we're running CoS) because of the Ravenloft stuff, and fortunately, he was distracted by the Ravenloft stuff that he completely missed the spoiler.
You guys are ruining all the surprises for the players.
