Very nice. It reminds me of a display layout from Rivarossi from the 70s. Figure 8 over under with station on the top, diagonal, and returns going under. It was a demonstration layout, but after a few years of shows, it was put in storage. It was found and donated to a club in Brescia, and they were supposed to restore it. Not sure what happened to it after that. I was looking to do a layout myself using Marklin equipment, but using digital (Digitrax - I have a lot of it) and JMRI software to control it. But I have no space inside to build it. Only outside in the back yard, but that is not very good for M track and electronics. Oh Well!
Thanks, we opted for this design as it allows a reasonable length of run in relatively small space. A bit unfortunate that you don't have space to pursue the hobby as you'd like to but certainly not a good idea to try M Track outside, rust might become a problem.
I use to have a Märklin layout but as a result of the limited space I changed to N-gauge. Now that I'm getting older and my eye site gets worse I struggle with the landscaping and the maintenance of the small loco's. What I also would like to have is running cars witch in my case isn't possible anymore unless I would start over again. Have fun with your landscaping. Cheers Jef
Thank you, there's still quite a lot of work to do but it performed well on its first public outing. The road utilises Faller car system and is a very simple loop, Magnarail is a bit bulky for the available space.
Hello, that is a great layout !!! I’ve been planning many layouts with SCARM for 2 years for my currently available space (160 x 46 inches), and this diagonal station with front & rear ramps to a shadow station is a recurring theme in my designs…
Hello, thanks for the comment. This layout is based on a Marklin Z scale track plan. The lower level is more or less a mirror of the top, with the same passing loop arrangement.
@@melpaul6049 thanks for the info. I initially planned the same, but then came up with a design that allows to store 12-14 trains in the shadow station.

Thanks Jef, we're currently making some adjustments and alterations to make operating easier then we'll be into the scenery.
@@melpaul6049 Thanks for the reply, looking forward to the result.
grew up with Märklin😊
Great stuff isn't it? Marklin is a relatively recent addition to my interests and it has a charm all of its own, particularly when using M track.
👍👍
Bello il tuo layout, complimenti 👍👍
I built the same layout about 25 years ago with M track
The faller skyscraper us harder to find since it only appeared in the gesamtKatalog for a few years
Thanks for the info, the buildings were only on loan for that show, they usually reside on my colleagues home layout.
NIce, ueberschaubar und schoen! :D
Thanks, kind of you to say.
nice layout! nice automation and magnorail :)

Nice toy, are you allowed to play with it without dad?
Yes, given that dad passed away over 20 years ago. I can't imagine he'd have any issue with me playing with the train set unsupervised.
How big is this layout?
hello, the layout is 11' x 3'8" or 3350mm x 1100mm
👍👍
