Not to be negative, but I can now see why hotshot/box truck drivers are frustrated and what they are talking about when they say new people are driving the market into the ground by accepting dirt cheap loads. I honestly thought it was just jealousy, but this video has opened my eyes.
Definitely not cranking up truck for less than 300
Buy love how you guys use the map to show people
You do realize how hard it can be to get any load when your authority is new . Is a person suppose to just sit and lose money buy not taking cheap freight
@@altiar789 new people will be able to get loads if no one is running those cheap loads but i do understand we can't stick together..
Christie I know you are glad you have a husband that is active with the business. Boxtruck Couple you keep the paper work orderly and he keeps the truck orderly. Team work team work.
You can actually let your pallet jack wheels off the tailgate and your load will stay on the lift gate ☝🏽 been doing it for 10 years
I'm a fleet technician and I have a few things to say about your pre-trip section of the video. Normally the engine oil is black due to soot produced by the power stoke in a diesel engine. It does not necessarily mean it needs changed. If you first start the truck after a fresh oil change, it will be just as dark as the "old oil". Secondly, diesel trucks normally don't have a "reservoir" like cars do, they actually "expansion tanks". If you see you fluid level low in the expansion tank, try starting the truck for a minute or two and turn it off. A lot of the times the coolant level will rise to the normal levels. Now if you constantly having to top off you fluid level, by all means check for leaks. However, I've seen multiple times were the expansion tank will crack due to being over pressurized from the extra coolant added. Thirdly, the transmission fluid can be checked with the truck off, the truck does not have to be on. The transmission is not like an automatic in a car where the car has an "oil pump" inside the transmission to lubricate and pressurize solenoids and passageways in the transmission body. Class 6-8 trucks (like yours) actually have "automated manual" transmissions. They all have clutches and have gears like a manual transmission. They are all manual transmissions expect the "automatic" transmissions are shifted with computerized solenoids instead of a stick controlled by the driver. If you were to remove the transmission top-hat and install a stick and a clutch pedal, you would turn your automated-manual into a true manual transmission. The oil is slashed lubricated with the truck in gear and driving, that is why it is harmful to coast in neutral, you can starve the secondary driven gears of oil.
This was a very informative comment. Keep providing sound advice sir. The fans benefit as well as the Box Truck couple. Keep Safe.
I love what you guys are doing. Black love black business. Keep up the great work. I am going to send more truck drivers your way keep going Love y’all!!!!🎉
Thanks for sharing y'all experience and congratulations on reaching 5,000 subscribers. We love everything you and your husband do,share and taking us along with y'all.
Congratulation christe Walter thanks love everything along husband taking us experience with y’all reaching 5 000 we and ms
Checking transmission when the vehicle is cold before you start up is the best accurate reading
Both have these sweet voices.
I’m sure backing out of that driveway was fun 😩😮😆
Man I just love that good energy that reflexes from y'all , stay bless ✌🏾
Love you guys
Me and my wife are in the process of starting our company we only have a few things left to complete so be on the lookout for LR Harris Trucking LLC 🚚❤❤❤❤
The reason why checking transmission fluid before you start the vehicle up is an accurate reading because all fluids done settled. Now on the other hand if vehicle has been running all day or night,,,, then it's good to start the vehicle and check it. Once an old mechanic told me the best accurate reading on your transmission fluid is when you put the vehicle in gear and check it .
Mr. Walter scared me with that tree 😅
You two are a good team. Keep showing us rookies what’s going on out there
Wow y'all are brave, there's no way I would have driven up that driveway for that delivery. Pallet jack that freight where it had to go. Great video and I like that app.
Y’all be putting us on gang and I really thank you guys for that 💯
I won’t crank my truck for less than $500
Agreed
They got route up here from 1 to 10 stops per route and all of them are paying under $400 I have seen one that pays over that $400 mark and at some locations u going to use your liftgate the whole route so if your box truck don't have a liftgate don't waste your time with mothership
Exactly
Guys one think I tell you I like you and I love you boath of you and respect from my heart
Thank you so much, that means the world to us
Hi. Good 2 c u 2. Thank God u film that trip:)

Hey family 👋
Hello Boxtruck Couple, it is so awesome you guys did this video. As someone who is looking into the box truck category as a possible investment as a business. Thank you for the detailed video you both did. Keep doing the great things you are doing. Much appreciated!
They have such a beautiful home and love the scenery
Thank You For Everything That You Do. Love Your Informative Videos 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿💞
I got one load fun mothership and it was $1400 going to new York. I'm like what happened to local runs. I haven't received another one since, that said their still working on the east coast network

The mobile home diva and the box truck couple. Love the videos keep putting out good content
Yes this is a learning experience for you all, and I am here for it
Starting with an LTL truck, this was really helpful.
Thank you so much for sharing. I wondered how the forklift was used to load the truck so it was good to see them actually load it on the truck. Walter is too funny and a excellent driver making it through those trees and on that driveway.
p
Wow ts for video amazing
God blessed
This is the part I love the most and it is the traveling that ya'll do in the truck. I love the country just love it, but don't live in the country anymore for family reasons.
11:04 I agree you can use that extra money for gas ⛽️
I love this couple! 🤣dats my dude! He straight up! Period! And she no nonsense! Godbless
$86 run..I hope they tipped good..and also google map your destination before hand to see what kind of space your working with.
I couldn't do it

Congrats. Let us know got it goes
Thank you for this demonstration!
You welcome stay safe
@@TheBoxtruckCouple what is the truck requirements. I have truck trailer, no box truck anymore, and whats the year models.
Man I really adore you and Walter!!! I wonder if Mothership req'd 26ft box truck.
Hope y'all get some pay for the next load. Drive safely.
God bless you.
Not gone get thru here.....WHEEEW! Did it 😁😁😁😁
Hey y’all. So glad to see how well you all are doing. While watching I noticed you got a receipt type thing to give the Consignee. Hope you are taking a picture of every piece of paper associated with every load, even though you did it in the apps that you use. These are for your own records. I swear I had someone ask me for a copy of a BOL 6 months after pay and delivery
All the negative comments are unnecessary! They clearly stated they only took the load to see what the app is all about. If you don’t have anything positive or helpful to say stfu!!!!
If that trip was less than 150 air miles 1 way you did not need to use the ELD. Also, if you positioned your pallet jack correctly you could have backed that load onto the liftgate with a lot less struggle. Would be happy to help if you guys want. I've driven over 100k miles OTR in a box truck. There's a lot more to learn in trucking.
Thank you!
That load really required a pick up truck or a van with a lift gate...
For the coolant leak you can rent a radiator pressure kit from any auto parts store to find it. You get all your money back once you return the tool.
Great little video & just imagine if you took care of your own car like that + many folks in Transportation don't even do a Pre/Post & just think the Truck IS your money...It's great Safety is back it's been gone for 4 years & that is sad .. Success On & Happy Trails 🚛🚛🚛🙏
Lol 😂 y'all are hilarious but I do appreciate you both. You are right you won't make enough money from this load because you have to spend gas 💰 money
You all were right and my estimate guess was they should have paid you all at least $250 dollars for that
It was also a inside delivery.
Diesel is always dark like that. 👍
Christie what if a person forgets to do the last step with the truck, ending the shipment?
I had a question, I live in Florida and would it be more beneficial to the start up to my business to make money to start with Amazon relay or should I try OTR
Love your channel btw Box Truck Couple. I pray God continues to bless your family and your business.
Fyl your eld receiver should be on your dashboard not in up in the window a cop could give u a ticket got that if he's in a bad mood
Hello
In order to rent a truck and work with Amazon or DAT, is it necessary to have a company or to rent in your personal name and work?
I hope yall changed that oil that day
Great video, but I would not have drove my truck on their driveway. I use to do LTL pick up and delivery and if you break that driveway that's on you and if you knock down those trees that's on you. You could have also damaged your truck. Those residential customers will complain about any little thing just to try to get a dollar out of you. I would have dropped that freight at the end of the driveway and kept it moving. I always dropped freight at the end of the drive when I was delivering. They can pay you extra to drag it to the garage.
Thanks. We will the next time👍🏾
❤❤❤❤❤
That's how oil gets on deisl engines, just did mine and made a vedio on it check it out. You can run your oil to 25K miles on big deisl engines, not sure when yours was changed but it being dark does not mean it needs changed, mine is dark like the and was just recently changed.
Sure , our oil should be changed every 10,000 miles or so and we were right there
where did you get your truck?
Which company are you using for track your hours?
Intrastate Authority allows you to pickup and deliver in the same state be mindful of that and the risk you take
We don’t have an intrastate. We have an interstate authority so we are able to drop in and out there state👍🏾
My insurance does not allow me to do residential deliveries because of the higher risks of damage to the truck as well as to the homeowner;s property.
Nice video I just got approved for the app to get loads, do you have to enable the access open all the time to get a load on the app. I see you guys
at ATL6 and 8 all the time thanks for the videos it really help me get started.
Turn on hour locations so that they send you loads for your area and turn on notifications so your texted when they come in 👍🏾. Make sure you say hello next time
Great couple and great video 👍 are y'all from Atlanta Georgia? what's the requirements for someone moving to Atlanta and starting box truck business? I'm moving from northern California.
All the steps to starting your box truck business are in the description box of our videos. If you have questions feel free to schedule a consultation with us at calendly.com/boxtruckcouple
Do they pay the same day
Your video taught people not to deal with the cheap paying app, I would of slept in instead of risking damage
Hello I might have missed it but what is the ELD and how would I obtain it I really enjoy watching your videos I'm getting ready to start my box truck business
Hello Jewel , I provide the ELD service and factoring company we use in every video. It’s on the inserts on the screen. It’s also in the description box of every video. His name is Edward Jones @ Keep Truckin +1 (213) 568-6771
Btw which of your videos gave advice on who to call for the eld?
Lol. All of them. It’s in every video including this one. Keep Truckin - Edward Jones +1 (213) 568-6771
Is the money good?
They accept flatbed trucks?
Good Morning. Question: What insurance would I have to obtain myself if I rented a truck from say Penske or Ryder? I want to rent a truck to get my feet wet while waiting to get everything in order for my box truck company.
You can use Penske insurance
So I heard the shipper say roadie is the roadie app and mothership app the same thing
What kind of insurance are you guys using? I am finding it difficult to get reasonable insurance in Florida.
Yes insurance is high on Florida and Georgia. Progressive is going to be the best for a new authority
Do you have to wait for the certificate of authority in the mail before you start working
I got mine via email
Can you neg the rate of pay? Alot of these sites throw out lowball rates to see who bites , then go up when nobody takes them.
Not sure. We j has never run a load from them before. Sure it’s all through the app we wouldn’t know how to negotiate. But we know how to say no!
Yes you can depending on the location your in and how bad they need the freight moved. I actually negotiate everyone of my Mothership runs. I can do this because there are very few carriers in my area that work with Mothership so it allows me to negotiate better rates with them.
Is a Max force engine a good or a bad investment.
We don’t own a max force engine but we have not heard good things about. I just researching the engine online
@@TheBoxtruckCouple thank you
Being in this business, have you ever thought about carrying a weapon or having your CCW? Im starting a box truck business but I would like to have protection for just in case.
That’s all fine & good but certain states don’t recognize other states CCW . It’s not universal.
Also, im pretty sure its against federal law to carry a fire arm while operating a commercial motor vehicle.
It’s not illegal to carry a concealed weapon on the road. You must apply for a Utah gun license that way you can carry it state to state
