Namibia | A trip to Fish River Canyon

Its a drive of 644 km if you start from Windhoek or 419 Km if you start from Lüderitz and in all honesty its worth every kilometer but its even better if you can catch sunset and sunrise at the Canyon or go for the Multi day hike through the Canyon.
The Fish River Canyon is located in the south of Namibia. It is the largest canyon in Africa, as well as the second most visited tourist attraction in Namibia.. It features a gigantic ravine, in total about 161 kilometres (100 mi) long, up to 27 km wide and in places almost 550 meters deep.
The Fish River is the longest interior river in Namibia. It cuts deep into the plateau which is today dry, stony and sparsely covered with hardy drought-resistant plants. The river flows intermittently, usually flooding in late summer; the rest of the year it becomes a chain of long narrow pools. At the lower end of the Fish River Canyon, the hot springs resort of ǀAi-ǀAis is situated.
Public view points are near Hobas, a camp site 70 km north of ǀAi-ǀAis.

Good job, good effort thanks for posting, After you got off the main highway what was the road condition like? was it easy to drive with just a regular car or do you need a truck?

I am not expert on the road conditions but it was pretty dry and level so i believe you would manage the route that time of the year with a normal car that isnt very low

Correction. It is not fish River. It is Vis River. There is no fish in the canyon.

I am 12 and I just finished this hike the sky was so beautiful at night and there was an amazing shooting star
The water was very low when I went so we struggled to have water but it's all worth it when you get to I ice
