When he was promoting this album, he was onstage with nothing more than an acoustic guitar with a pickup, a harmonica, a few stomp boxes, his voice and a stool to sit on. Every song he played, whether from this album or the dozen or so Catherine Wheel songs he performed sounded like the whole band was there. Every little passing note, riff, hook, sound effect, swirl and woosh that ur used to hearing on their albums was somehow reproduced by him with just those few things. I was blown away.
"Fresh Wine For The Horses" is one incredibly underrated album. Once it opens up and gets it's truly heavenly hooks and lyrics embedded in your soul, you'll never be able to shake them.
Do yourself a huge favor and go see Rob when he tours....he is pure magic! Rob seems to have "matured" nicely and his Fresh Wine for the Horses album has some incredible rockin tunes as well as gorgeous ballads. Been a fan for 5 years now and i'll always have a place in my heart for Catherine Wheel!
Rob just solo or Catherine Wheel together, one of the great singers/bands of all time. These guys should reunite and tour again. Amazing voice and lyrics.
I can't believe I hung out with Rob for most of High school as friends-he hid this talent from alot of us though.I was asked to go to Robs once when Bruce was there. .....yep I went!
@@christineharrelson4831 LoL I still can't believe it's my school friend age, hung around so much and there he is. The boy did good ACTUALLY the MAN did blood* FANTASTIC!
What a sultry, beautiful voice Rob has! I just love his cousin, Bruce, but boy! Is Rob up there, too for me! Great voices must run in their family! What woman could resist a man who is willing to walk the line for the woman he loves! This video brought tears to my eyes! Love his music!
You can be outside my tower anytime and I can tell you, it wouldn't take but a glance and a smile from you, to make me love you. Magical song, I love it. I can listen to this and all of Catherine Wheels/Rob Dickenson songs forever. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox
Proof that good direction is a hundred times more important than high-end equipment in communicating a story effectively. Big thumbs up to all involved. You should scoop the mobile and handheld-device film competitions with this one!
searcher I love hearing that. I believe I heard he owns some sort of auto shop? Hubby and I have thought about “visiting” lol. My husband introduced me to Catherine Wheel and I was astounded at the level of talent and creativity and yet never main stream. They are our own private concerts on cold MN nights. I’ve been replacing the CD’s and it’s costing me a fortune. 🙃Tell him he has some long time admirers.
searcher I promise we aren’t really stalkers. Very very rarely does a particular artist really get my ear. Not sure what it is about his style and voice but I’ve been hooked since day 1. I had also never been a fan of non mainstream music until I hear him sing. I’m so glad he still picks up a guitar now and then. Tell him not to ever stop. That would truly be a tragedy. I hope your safe and well!!!! Stay that way.
I am gay and listen mainly to Kylie Minogue, Barbra Streisand and Kate Bush....but this man is something else! Rob Dickinson's music touches me deeply. It speaks with a profound honesty and empathy. Has a sensitive and raw masculinity and is musically brilliant. He is truly amazing. Please tell me he still makes and releases new music....
this is truly an amazing piece of music and imagery. the heart-felt story can bring you to tears. i have the privilege of working for him and i can tell you it is an honor spending time with him. he is an extremely creative passionate person.
For now, he was retired from recording, but he’s now the owner of Singer Vehicle Design since 2009, which focused on restoration or modification of Porsche 911
@@montymole7114 Sexuality is always important. It profoundly informs the lens through which we experience music and life. But I get what you're saying! And yes, Rob and Catherine Wheel is most definitely very important. Such talent, such beauty and passion.
@@brianwebberable yeah, I still hope he will be back in music somedays, either on Catherine Wheel or his solo stuff. But his works on car industry are also great too👍👍 fyi, he was the engineer of Lotus in 80’s before he shifted to music and formed Catherine Wheel

In a testament to the cultural bankruptcy of our modern age... This amazing musician and artist is now working at an auto dealership selling Porsche's to rich assholes. Rob... You need to release more stuff online.. We will pay to see you.
Forget about Adam & Eve or Happy Days even Crank but go back to Ferment with songs like Black Metalic, Indigo is Blue, I Wanna Touch You, and She's My Friend. Now that was Rob and friends at their best!
Finally a decent video producer. Old CW videos are heinous. This song would make a good movie song. Quick, someone at Paramount get off your lazy ass! As the video shows, the songs got a great depth of imagery. Makes it easy for an artistic eye to present in an appearling way. Which is why I can't understand wtf went wrong with CW. Is this part of that maturity process bs? Whatever. Anyway, the song is of course awesome and undiscovered. I'm too lazy to do anything with it. ~Santoonie
Well, I adored Ferment and all the old Ferment videos I've come across show off the songs and the band for that matter is subpar mediocrity. I think CW's lack of tremendous success is poor representation. In my opinion someone didn't know how to market CW and Ferment for that matter.

I'm going on a CW listening bing tonight when I get home. I've got all of their CD's. This video was pretty good, but the song was better.
