I’m sick in bed and watching your videos. I realized why I enjoy all of your videos posted: they’re for everyone, young, old, men, women, etc. including a large dose of everyday history. What a gift you give us. Please don’t stop. 🙌🏻❤️😃
Oh no Pam! There is no good time to be I'll but the summer heat always seems the worst. Especially in Texas. I hope you get well soon! I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment even when you are sick.
This was fun, Rhetty! I really enjoyed it. It's a shame about that busted window. Oh, that green desk lamp in the office, I think almost every family had one back in the 80s. We did! lol Thanks for sharing, Rhetty!
It is a shame. Here they have it out for all to enjoy not to destroy. Hope the caught them if they had the cameras then. Those lamps were popular! Thanks for watching and commenting.
That's pretty awesome. Took a trip one time with my friend. Headed down to Illinois see his family. buy Route 66 had a good time you have a great day🇺🇸👍🤠
Thank Rhetty always interesting and fun tagging along on your tours. I’ve traveled cross country several times but never detoured onto old 66 wish I would’ve taken the time.
Yeah I love what they are doing with this project. At some point they are going to build a train ststion on the other side of the trains and that will be the museum. Thanks for watching.
thanks Rhetty. very good job! Will Rogers, would be an idea on another, if you can work it in, I'd sure appreciate it , and thank you my friend! I really like watching your videos, they are very relaxing Rhetty.
Thank you Carvin. I've been to Will's home place before but it was before RUclips. He is on the list to cover in a video for sure. I have done one on his good friend he was killed with, Wiley Post. I appreciate you watching.
hellloooo Rhetty... I commented to one of ur viewers that not sure if correct spelling but Tulsa got it's name from Tallaseah native American tribe from Florida relocated there in late 1800s...as usual another cool video watching a few more with Monday morning coffee.
I haven't heard of that tribe before. I was under the impression that the name sort of came from the Creek language which is a tribe that is very prominent in the area. I know Tallahassee is a derivative of Creek and then Tulsa had when thru several short versions of that before ending up at Tulsa. It's got me curious now. Thanks for watching!
Yes lots of RT 66 has been torn up but Oklahoma has the most miles of RT 66 currently. We drive 66 from Weathered to Yukon often. A little bit of a bumpy ride but great scenery.
That is a great little stretch. Luckily I believe there is a renewed interest in the round and more people are taking it. There is a lot of history in it and like that bulletin said it started here. Meaning Tulsa with Cyrus Avery. His final resting place is in Tulsa as well.
It's still there and many sections of it are still being used. They have re-routed it a couple times though. It's interesting to see how the whole route changes. Thanks for watching.
The next time you’re in Tulsa, you better let me know!!! That is I-244 that runs next to the train. And yes, there is a geocache there. You were right on top of it when you stood next to the giant wheels. They just built the “old” gas station. It’s a replica. And that old sign, I don’t think it was from Bells. Not sure where it’s from though.
I have several things I filmed there but have several things more I need to film. This was a little extra. I was mainly grabbing some people in cemeteries. That station looked new but they did a great job making it look old. If they would have painted the brick I would have really thought it was old. I found out from a little research that the Bell sign is not from an amusement park but rather an old station.
It's nethier here nor there, but I was in Tusla during the unearthing of the 1957 Plymouth time capsule. Tulsa was a pretty sketchy town to be in, IMO.
As of yet I have not seen any town without a sketchy side some how some way especially if it is a larger city like Tulsa. It does have it's nice areas too.

Rolling Stones on Route 66
It was always a dream when I was in my teens to travel art 66. Sad they went in and broke it up. Lost of Americana
