This model’s face color is really gorgeous. It has multiple personalities, it is moody. Turns green when it needs to be green, yet sometimes it’s black then when you least expect it, it transforms into an emerald gem.
I think you have some good points. Rolex increased production from 1050000 to 1200000 watches pa. They reduced the number of models from 1358 to 1221, for the Daytona from 44 to 32 models (can count on their website). Guess what will happen with the prices. In my view Rolex has a serious problem with some AD’s in Asia, selling via back door and the VIP’s flipping liking crazy, pushing prices lower. The longer the more models are selling below retail, combined with the flipping this may really start to hurt the brand. Hope they find a way to sell to real watch lovers. Good watches but they have to be careful, a reputation is lost quickly.
Thanks Chris. Good to know these stats! I think Rolex is moving towards the boutique only stores wherever they can, might be a slow long term method to control their supply.
I don't think Rolex would stay for display only if they only do gold. Price point is way to high regarding where they come from. But they can definitly find a good product mix with steel.
As the new Daytona has gotten bumped up in size to a mans watch, the existing dials doesn’t fit anymore. Wait and see, the special dials will be back within a year or two. The green will be back for sure. Green is a colour for good luck in Asia, and Rolex will make sure they are covering that market.
Lol Asia is a LARGE and DIVERSE continent which consist of Chinese, Arabs, Japanese as the main customers group. Arabs like green because it is the colour for Mohammed, Chinese like red because of forture while Japanese like red for the ancient imperial touch. The idea that "Green is a colour for good luck" is a Western concept LMAO
Never understood the hype about this watch, IMHO one of the uggliest Daytonas ever made! And btw, Tudor discontinued the complete Heritage Chrono lineup this week.😉

@@b0bbymoon452 what ever man. The green along with the rest will be back shortly….
white gold and platinum already had the bigger case, so your idea is off
the new platinum daytona kind of kills your argument....they carried this model forward whereas they discontinued the john mayer models
Nah they only disgust it because it is untouchable.
Why would Rolex want to cement the value of a pre owned watch? They get nothing out of it
Desirability. If their old models aren’t desirable then their new ones will not carry forth the current demand.
@@StandardTime nah bro, that’s nonsense

Oh wow! I didn’t realise that! I quite liked the heritage chronos!
@@StandardTime yes, but unfortunately today Tudor is just Black Bay, Black Bay and of course Black Bay...
Interesting thoughts 👏👏
Thanks Laurence!
