Fantastic presentation. Very impressed. And a Scunthorpe lass! I was beginning to think that she'd made a mistake in letting the two guys know she'd wanted them as it turned the tables and they put their higher, I think, because of it. She wanted 50K for 15%, whereas I think she should have gone in for 100k for 10% as surely the value would be over £1m with all those contracts and sales. As it was she settled for giving away 66% more than she'd offered for 60% more cash, which she didn't need. The dragons for a bargain there. But she needed then to help her, you can tell that after two years of stress A hard work she was flagging. Good for her!
@@BigWes95 But the ‘expert help’ she was expecting never materialised. The investment turned out to be a loan she would have to pay back and, she claims, the contract drawn up by Caan’s lawyers meant that, in effect, they had bought nearly a quarter of her company for £29. Sharon also claims she was asked to reduce her salary from £50,000 to £12,000, while Dunham points out that the two Dragons’ demands meant that one of them would become chairman of her firm. At the same time, Sharon’s health began to suffer. She says: ‘I felt absolutely mentally, physically and emotionally exhausted.’ Eventually, Dunham organised a termination of the contract with the Dragons’ legal teams. Shortly afterwards, Sharon went into hospital for three weeks having suffered a nervous breakdown.
Rods is already a thing but obviously not magnetic, basically screw rods together if needed and wrap some insulation cable around the cores or even use the hook feature they provide. From my experience being an electrician, these are a great concept but due to the magnet, won't work due to substances which are not visible through the walls or areas getting the cables through and the resistance will knock off the cable unless you put on an extremely strong magnet and even then, the insulation wrapped around the cores will be stronger if done correctly....
Wow! Very surprised to find out what truly happened with this deal. Seems like James Kaan is a bit of a crook really. It's a shame all's not as it seems. Thankfully it all worked out for Sharron in the end. She has secured contracts with B&Q and Maplins, as well as department stores Sears and Kmart in the US. Sharon has also secured a deal the Dragons couldn't match. She sold ten per cent of her shares to a new investor for£100,000. Of her new business partner, Sharon says: 'He is the best partner I could have wished for. He just lets me get on with it and gives me the support and infrastructure I originally asked for.'
Humble and willing to learn, get help she needs by the real experts. She is concerned about safety too, seems a real treasure and a great mother! I hope she goes far!
Not only walls need cables threaded through. I restore and rebuild classic vehicles, threading cable is a frustrating job. One of these is now on the shopping list.
Wow, after reading about the aftermath of the deal I've lost all respect for this show. 29£ for 22.5% of her company and the 80,000£ is just a loan to pay back. Yeah I think I'm done with this show.
They actually bought the 23% of the company for 24 pounds and then was to provide the 80 000 whenever they wanted as a loan. She only realized this after signing...
Good luck to her in her business however I drill through walls and pull cable for a living and cable rods that do this have been available for years. This doesn’t seem as good as cable rods though.
She was awesome but decided to enter into a contract with James and Duncan without having a lawyer assist. She wound up suing James and that was allegedly one of the reasons that James quit the show.
The two dragons sneaking off like naught schoolboys to ramp up the deal was telling. It felt like they were trying to leverage her desire to work with them and get s bigger slice of ownership for not much more money.
The offer handed over by Caan’s lawyers said the 80k was actually a loan. So the deal didn’t go through. She actually tried to sue James Caan, not sure if she won though
Sadly, the Dragons screwed Sharon over by only investing a fraction of the amount she was promised and it pushed her and her business to the verge of ruin.
Yeah no, she absolutely deserved to be praised. Not only did she have a good and simple product... that ALONE would make any of the dragons invest. But she also has a stellar personality, which again, that ALONE would've made the dragons invest. HOWEVER, she also has a clear plan, she knows the market, she's shown that she can make great decision despite being inexperienced. She's the TRIFECTA that the dragons are looking for. Oh and of course, the last bit of her negotiating the deal... I'm sure it just made the other dragons A LOT MORE jelous for sure.
Here is the outcome: the ‘expert help’ she was expecting never materialised. Dunham now confirms he has just issued a High Court writ demanding unspecified damages from Caan for defamation, but precisely what Caan is alleged to have said of his client is unclear. Says the lawyer: ‘I can’t comment at present. The case is ongoing. The damages we are asking for have yet to be assessed.’
I have had issues and given up getting a cable through a cavity wall inside to outside . I found the explanation a bit too quick . Otherwise I maybe interested. I did not get the magnet bit .
She believed in Duncan and James and in return they deceived her. Never blindly trust any investor. Feel sorry for Sharon here. This episode happened in 2009. Hope Sharon is doing well in life with her other business pursuits.
What are her books like and so on what is her expected trun over?? What it worth in terms of expected profits???! None of these questions asked? Going in blind!
She say that they ripped her off and they say this: "Caan said yesterday: 'Unfortunately, within a few months of Sharon appearing [on Dragons' Den] she decided that due to the success and positive feedback from the show she would prefer to keep 100 per cent of her company, which Duncan and I fully supported."
You still obviously have to drill a whole before you push the mole through which is where the initial H and S problem might be. There are allready products on the market that have the same function. £6,worth getting one that price anyway.

Seen this one a million times. I’m certain it’s been uploaded on this channel before.
Most of them have been uploaded multiple times
This one has not, though it was uploaded on the BBC RUclips channel which also posts dragon's den episodes
Look up what a hilti core drill is , this requires a sleeve to push the cable through..exact same as a stint, it requires a vessel/ tube to stop it blocking
What is used in heart treatment
The aftermath of this deal made me realise how much of a snake James is.
what happened?
@@dhc2 Commenting to find out too.
Yes, I wouldn't trust him as far as I can throw him.
@@psoteriou3884 Why though?
What happened?
Got to be the number one presentation and deal ever on Dragons Den.
I love how much fun everybody seems to have here X-D
Great atmosphere in this one!
Horrible how they treated her after the den.
What did they do?
What happened
She never got the investment after the show.
You do not need this product to feed a cable through cavity. The hole you had to drill.use then a slightly smaller bit..and push through hole.insualtion tape to hold cable.pull through and job is done.i have done this for 40 years.
Absolutely flawless business and individual. By far the best I’ve ever seen
On the other hand 15% for 50k values the company at 333k. Her final deal of 22.5% for 80k values the company at 355k. So she got a good deal there.
There could also be an electrical wire in the cavity when you drill through, she's nice to look at though
It's sad what happened in the aftermath of this pitch
What happened?
@@BigWes95 But the ‘expert help’ she was expecting never materialised. The investment turned out to be a loan she would have to pay back and, she claims, the contract drawn up by Caan’s lawyers meant that, in effect, they had bought nearly a quarter of her company for £29.
Sharon also claims she was asked to reduce her salary from £50,000 to £12,000, while Dunham points out that the two Dragons’ demands meant that one of them would become chairman of her firm.
At the same time, Sharon’s health began to suffer. She says: ‘I felt absolutely mentally, physically and emotionally exhausted.’
Eventually, Dunham organised a termination of the contract with the Dragons’ legal teams. Shortly afterwards, Sharon went into hospital for three weeks having suffered a nervous breakdown.
@@Asif-kh-n9r where on earth are you getting this info from

@@JayBoy26HD it's all online... and very much true.
Rods is already a thing but obviously not magnetic, basically screw rods together if needed and wrap some insulation cable around the cores or even use the hook feature they provide.
From my experience being an electrician, these are a great concept but due to the magnet, won't work due to substances which are not visible through the walls or areas getting the cables through and the resistance will knock off the cable unless you put on an extremely strong magnet and even then, the insulation wrapped around the cores will be stronger if done correctly....
nope i have had magnetic rods since 2001
@@firsteerr fair enough but rods in general were already a thing. Magnetic would only be good for tidy jobs unless you have an extremely strong magnet
Sharon is a high class Business woman. and there is many who wished they had stayed with her. She will go a long way.
What a lovely confident lady. I want to hug her.
all you need is a copper tube...an sds bit slightly bigger ..about 10 mm and away you go
Kahn*
he is from the recruitment world, they are all crooks. I was in it and almost joined his company. I would never have gone with him.
Wonder if she became a creditor of Maplins 🤷🤦
The Dragons didn't get to where they are without being ruthless business people, guaranteed they've all screwed over plenty of people along the way
*Caan
What an amazing lady. The most professional episode ever presented in the den that I have seen.
Humble and willing to learn, get help she needs by the real experts. She is concerned about safety too, seems a real treasure and a great mother! I hope she goes far!
Magnetic cable pull through devices have been all over the world for some time .And most dont really work in reality
That's partly why James Caan got kicked off the show.
Oh no. How will DD survive without you
Until the next upload 😂
Close the door on your way out.
Her pitch was superb!
They actually bought the 23% of the company for 24 pounds and then was to provide the 80 000 whenever they wanted as a loan. She only realized this after signing...
How do you know
Google and it’s the first thing that comes up bro
Good luck to her in her business however
I drill through walls and pull cable for a living and
cable rods that do this have been available
for years. This doesn’t seem as good as cable
rods though.
She was awesome but decided to enter into a contract with James and Duncan without having a lawyer assist. She wound up suing James and that was allegedly one of the reasons that James quit the show.
Really? Where did you find this?
@@markleonard. Google it. She got badly screwed over by these two. Shameful and predatory behavior.
@@psoteriou3884 yeah I read the article there after I commented. I lost so much respect for the den.
"Do u want to add anything to that?"
Duncan: No.
😂
That look from Duncan to James and the handshake that followed is priceless! 🤣
They’re salivating over taking advantage of her. They literally preyed on her and didn’t hold up their end of the deal
The two dragons sneaking off like naught schoolboys to ramp up the deal was telling. It felt like they were trying to leverage her desire to work with them and get s bigger slice of ownership for not much more money.
On this I'd have gone with Deborah.
Best pitch ever!
I am not that interested in the product but I would definitely have invested in her. There are more great ideas in her. I hope she does extremely well
The offer handed over by Caan’s lawyers said the 80k was actually a loan. So the deal didn’t go through. She actually tried to sue James Caan, not sure if she won though
Sadly, the Dragons screwed Sharon over by only investing a fraction of the amount she was promised and it pushed her and her business to the verge of ruin.
Phenomenal woman. Very rare to see such perfection in the den. Sharon is a force to recon with. 👍🏽👍🏽
Hard to please these guys .. but superb appreciation.. she can have this clip on her CV and get any job she desires🔥
Job? Why and what for? When you know you can take your own invention and company to greater heights.
When Theo Paphitis tells you have done well...
Here is the outcome: the ‘expert help’ she was expecting never materialised.
Wow
I have had issues and given up getting a cable through a cavity wall inside to outside . I found the explanation a bit too quick . Otherwise I maybe interested. I did not get the magnet bit .
Is it just me or does James sound like a Doctor?
She believed in Duncan and James and in return they deceived her. Never blindly trust any investor. Feel sorry for Sharon here. This episode happened in 2009. Hope Sharon is doing well in life with her other business pursuits.
Right so. I was in utter shock when she said that she wanted an investment from the scot
Best pitch on the den I’ve seen. Absolutely A+
What a lovely lady good luck to her and her daughter ❤️
she only made 100k. Was shafted by the dragons.
not really, the dragons ruined her business
“I am from future. What is, how you say, cable?”
Only pitch I can ever think of getting a higher valuation than they came in with
James Caan let this woman down big time. With hindsight she should've gone with Deborah and Theo.
awesome idea. had to use my 2ft masonry drill many times.
What are her books like and so on what is her expected trun over?? What it worth in terms of expected profits???! None of these questions asked? Going in blind!
She say that they ripped her off and they say this:
"Caan said yesterday: 'Unfortunately, within a few months of Sharon appearing [on Dragons' Den] she decided that due to the success and positive feedback from the show she would prefer to keep 100 per cent of her company, which Duncan and I fully supported."
She’s a business woman as she says and gained free publicity on dragons den
Will still end up using a fishing reel or rods and a bit of insulating tape, been doing it for the last 20 years and had no issues
This idea was years ago and I have never seen any of these in the shops but they are supposed to be very successful.
You still obviously have to drill a whole before you push the mole through which is where the initial H and S problem might be. There are allready products on the market that have the same function. £6,worth getting one that price anyway.
