Nor did the £80,000 investment she was promised by the Dragons for a stake in the company: instead of giving her the money to buy into the company, they offered it as a loan."

    Having spent many years threading cable through ducts, cavities and god knows what, I have clearly missed something. Like most engineers I used a set of thin nylon rods which do exactly what I saw in the video. I used them back in 1970. So what is special about these? Sure we didn't use magnets which maybe are now strong enough to hold the wire against some of the friction encountered, but a bit of duct tape worked fine - never had a problem during thousands of instals. Must be me!

    • @JohnnyMotel99

      DUCT Tape of course has a fabric backing to give it the durability it has.
      Many people call vinyl tape DUCT tape - because they do not know the difference.
      However, I have used both methods of feeding wire through cavities and ceilings -
      attaching a small neodymium magnet to a cable with Tape - (sometimes utilizing
      a nylon rod) and a larger neodymium magnet along the ceiling to steer the cable
      in the right direction.
      As a former Airforce pilot and an Electronics/Electro-Mechanical engineer -
      Air refueling works because the refueling rod and bucket are aligned and engaged
      magnetically - So for me, this concept is nothing new.

    Fantastic presentation. Very impressed. And a Scunthorpe lass! I was beginning to think that she'd made a mistake in letting the two guys know she'd wanted them as it turned the tables and they put their higher, I think, because of it. She wanted 50K for 15%, whereas I think she should have gone in for 100k for 10% as surely the value would be over £1m with all those contracts and sales. As it was she settled for giving away 66% more than she'd offered for 60% more cash, which she didn't need. The dragons for a bargain there. But she needed then to help her, you can tell that after two years of stress A hard work she was flagging. Good for her!

    • @BerkeleyMatthew
      @BerkeleyMatthew Год назад +1

      On the other hand 15% for 50k values the company at 333k. Her final deal of 22.5% for 80k values the company at 355k. So she got a good deal there.

    Rods is already a thing but obviously not magnetic, basically screw rods together if needed and wrap some insulation cable around the cores or even use the hook feature they provide.
    From my experience being an electrician, these are a great concept but due to the magnet, won't work due to substances which are not visible through the walls or areas getting the cables through and the resistance will knock off the cable unless you put on an extremely strong magnet and even then, the insulation wrapped around the cores will be stronger if done correctly....

    She has secured contracts with B&Q and Maplins, as well as department stores Sears and Kmart in the US. Sharon has also secured a deal the Dragons couldn't match. She sold ten per cent of her shares to a new investor for£100,000.
    Of her new business partner, Sharon says: 'He is the best partner I could have wished for. He just lets me get on with it and gives me the support and infrastructure I originally asked for.'
