"Am I Wrong" is a song by Norwegian duo Nico & Vinz (formerly known as Envy). It was released as a single in April 2013 and later included on their debut album, "Black Star Elephant," which came out in 2014. The song became a major international hit, reaching the top five in several countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada.
The song features an upbeat, catchy melody with a fusion of pop, reggae, and African influences. Lyrically, "Am I Wrong" explores themes of self-doubt, determination, and following one's dreams despite criticism or doubt from others. The chorus contains the memorable lines, "Am I wrong for thinking that we could be something for real? / Now am I wrong for trying to reach the things that I can't see?"

They've won numerous awards in Norway and Europe, and are well known there, as well as Australia, New Zealand, and lots of Asia. Obviously their connection with Africa is on display here. This video was filmed in Botswanna. Nico and Vinz are both Norwegian by birth. Nico's mom is Norwegian, while his dad is an African music artist from Ivory Coast, while Vin'z parents are both from Ghana. So you've got this Norwegian-Ivorian-Ghanain musical songwriting duo. Very rich background to draw from.
Funny comment about the "blue eyed and blonde haired people"-that comment already came up during an interview with Nico and Vinz, and Nico's response was, "yeah, we got a lot of those too!"
Vinz stated in that same interview that the neighborhood he grew up in Oslo, Norway was very diverse, and that he grew up with people from all different parts of the world. "Kinda like New York [City]," said Vinz.
And guys, these guys and their band are amazing live performers. Before Nico and Vinz, I never experienced enjoying live performances. I was a straight studio guy, and didn't connect with live performances. Not these two! Absolutely electrifying in live performance! Update for you guys on the idea of re-releasing this song: Nico and Vinz literally yesterday launched their 10th Anniversary Tour of "Am I Wrong" yesterday in Norway. Radio Norway is playing non-stop Nico and Vinz music right now in celebration of their tour through Norway and the celebration of the beginning of spring in Norway. Although on their Instagram account, the shots of the stage showed a lot of snow on the stage!
Technically, they released this song in 2013 under their previous band name "Envy" in 2013. However, when they signed with Warner Music when this song blew up all over the world, they had to change the band name because another American band was already named "Envy". So, upon their signing with Warner in 2014, and with "Am I Wrong" being released with their iconic debut album (as Nico and Vinz), "Black Star Elephant". All other reaction show hosts who have reacted to Nico and Vinz agree this is one of the most underrated albums of all time.

Matoma is a Norwegian DJ. He and Nico and Vinz have residences in LA, and apparently he came over to his "neighbors" to get Nico and Vinz to perform their trademark vocals on his backing, which they did with fantastic results. One of the hottest pure dance tracks ever by Nico and Vinz.
They played New Years Rockin Eve in 2015. I love this song and that you chose it. I love you all too, especially Cory because he always looks like he's having a great time. I'm dancing too cory...lol

Guys, these two were selected by no less than the Soul Train Awards Committee as best new artist World category for 2014. In their editorial the committee called them, "the world's first Afropean band."
Vinz Dery recalls a conversation at a party he was at where all his Norwegian friends were discussing educational careers and some abruptly asked Vinz, " so what are you going to do?", to which Vinz replied, "I'm gonna make this music work!", The reply: "yeah, but you gotta have a plan B", to which Vinz said , "Nah! I'm going to make Plan A work!". There you have it, gentlemen! The boldness of the true dreamer, an innovative figure in the universal human activity of artistic creation.

So the point is this is the 10 year anniversary of them becoming Nico and Vinz, and they are, right now, in the middle of a 10 year anniversary tour in Norway. I missed this one but these guys are on my bucket list! I pray they have a '25 Norway tour as I plan to be there!

Well it has a positive message encapsulated in the form of him questioning himself if he’s wrong for being positive and being a dreamer. Other than that it to me feels a little “empty” like the rest of todays music. A modern radio song I’d let play before the next cringe song comes on and I turn the radio off to play my own classics that I have on my USB drive 🤗
