This G81 M3 Competition is owned by Swiss performance company, dAHler and was brought to the United States for a car show. It can't legally be driven on the road here, but I did have the opportunity to make this short video with it.
It supposedly handles and performs just like it's sedan counterpart, but with the extra storage and utility that you get with a wagon. It's a shame that BMW doesn't sell them here.

Hey BMW! We need these in the States!
They can't hear you over all of the soccer moms screaming about SUVs
They’re not bringing it to the states you dont buy enough estate cars or i think you call them wagons in the states to make it financially viable
@@MA-kr6yv V true, but remember they're brainwashed, so. Not the individual's fault, it's the systematic elimination of small vehicles to circumvent emissions and safety laws because somehow an SUV is a "Light Truck" and that's not subject to the same regulations.
It was lobbyed as a law to protect "hardworking american farmers" but they just made SUVs. Unsafe for everyone except if you're inside one.
Unless you roll it in which case you become blended soup
No! ITS better in Germany
@@john31419don’t forget the small dick truck drivers
That car was so clean! 😍
why “was” and not “is”?
@@Cartier2Shiesty Because we seen it at the show and this was edited when we got back.
Eh German 😂
There is litterly nothing clean about this model… bmw designs arent clean at all…
@@ClosestNearUtopia If that’s how you feel, cool 👍🏻
Can always trust you to whip out the best shots 🍿
Thank you!! 🙏
You’ll just put an LS in them.
“Can’t be driven on roads in the us” who gon stop me
On my momma kids💯
Department of homeland security lol
The cops-
FBI : but you didnt have to cut me off
Fr tho😢😮
I live here in the UK and they are selling like hotcakes!
Just stunning, especially in individual colours 😍🙌
I hope BMW will come to their senses like Audi bringing the RS6 Avant to the US.
@@justinbuiceI just don't understand why they don't sell avants in the US?
I read somewhere that there isn't the demand for them there but I find that hard to believe!
I'm sure many ppl will swap their high performance pick up for an M3 estate 😅
@@rg6982I think BMW sells so many SUV’s here, maybe they see a wagon as being too similar. And Americans (outside of the car community) think wagons are lame 🤦🏻♂️
@@justinbuiceahh that explains it then!
Such a shame because Americans tend to have amazing taste when it comes to modding cars!!
+ slightly off topic, would u ever consider making a vid about installing ambient light kit on your F30?? Im considering buying one for my car which consists of 9 colours but there are literally no useful videos on RUclips for the F30
@@rg6982 Mine in an LCI so it came with the ambient lights in the doors and dashboard. it only has white and red LED's though
Crazy. Dähler's workshop is literally a 10min drive from where i live. Stopped by there multiple times to look at the nice Bmw's. Funny to see that a car made it to the US😂
I pray americans will drop the crossovers for wagons again
This wagon, yes. Where I live it's all CUV'S and Subarus.
Same, wagons are my favorite ones
I always thought the dodge magnum looked cool, and wondered why so many of my peers gave it hate. SUVs are all the same. This m3 > bmw x7 to me.
Wagons ho
Everyone that doesn’t live on a farm and doesn’t have to cross hard terrain ona daily basis is better off with a wagon. SUV‘s suck Pick ups suck and crossovers also suck.
It'll be available, in about 25 yrs
😢
Everyone should tweet at them at once, demanding this in the states they’d sell so many
Would cost too much to pass
Definition of perfection:
I've never been a fan of wagons but I can appreciate their practicality. But this one though...this one is beautiful! I heard about this one coming over but didn't expect to find myself liking it quite this much!
i dont get the hate for wagons they handle better than SUVs and minivans while maintaining practicality lol
Wait for it in real. It will blow your mind bro 😉 I see a lot of them in Austria
What about the rs6 avant or e63s wagon?
The ever increasing grill actually looks good on the wagon
Wrong
@@cozza819yes you are 🥰
@@Mew616nah you are thinking this shit looks good
@@lulekj it literally does. Based on ur pfp, you have no taste in looks.
A handsome BMW … getting rare these days
Agreed. I’m not sure what’s happening at BMW these days but hopefully they change their design direction before it’s too late.
honestly the g80 kinda grown on me. but i still like 2014-2019 era design more tho. sadly by the time i'm rich enough to buy one they will probably hard to find one in good conditions used.
Except the front bumper.
the m8 is their best looking car rn
@@exb940have you seen the new m3 in person? It looks amazing. The m2 looks good too
Stunning from every angle...except the front 😂
I still dont think the massive elephant grill was the way to go. Nice car though
they gave back to bmw with airplane design the front of the car resembles a jet fighter
I used to hate the grill so much, till i saw it in person now i want all the new M cars 😂
I like it a lot, especially becuase it stands out so much. This car is one of a kind.
I like it on thie car, not on the M3
Honestly you need to see those in person they look amazing
I’m not a BMW person by any stretch of the imagination, but this looks amazing. Honestly the wagon body makes the giant grill look clean on this car, like it belongs. I’ve never seen an aggressive looking bmw wagon and this just looks fire 🔥. Looks way better than the sedans
Not a BMW guy by any means but damn that’s a beautiful machine
Nice looking car! Perfect colour too! Thanks for sharing as always👍🏾
They totally need that here in the US.
It's pronounced "Dollar"
The 2 dots above the vowel means "short"
A short 'A' is "Ahh" not "Ayy"
I would sign my soul to get this car.
Blame tasteless U.S. car buyer who deemed wagons uncool for many decades. Now you're stuck in these pesky SUVs.
Pig nose grille! 🐷🐷
I appreciate a good sports wagon, but I must admit that the oversized wheels on non-über-ultra-higher-than-the-ISS-performance cars trend is getting out of hand, and driving cars like this over bumpy roads, potholes, speed bumps, etc. is a living purgatory as a result. And lowering springs don’t help matters. It’s a surefire way of getting a hernia or slipped disc, I can tell you that much.
I agree 100%. I went down to 18’s on my own car and I won’t go larger again. The car in the video has 21’s 😬
@@justinbuice yikes. I rode in a car with twenty inch wheels a while back, and could feel just about every imperfection and pebble on the road’s surface. One of the chaps at ReDriven did a video a little while back about this trend, and how larger tyres not only have better ride quality, but also better grip, and can last a lot longer because the grooves are deeper.
Man! Sucks it can't be driven! It looks amazing!!
I don't like BMW, but THAT is a SEXY car holy shit
Reminds me of the RS6 Avant i so desperately want to see on the roads more often.
I saw one rs6 avant at Roseville city in Minnesota
you can legally drive it on USA streets if you have diplomatic licence plates
Is rather pathetic that you can't buy M3 touring in the US. They're some of the most brutal cars on the road, incredibly intimidating to even look at especially when is turned.
Why arent they allowed in the US?
@@devinthornton8831thats what i wanna know too
@@devinthornton8831maybe it doesn't pass the US safety regulations? Idk
@@devinthornton8831Overall demand is low for wagons in the US, so BMW USA didn’t think it was necessary to spend all the money on crash testing G21/G81 for US regulations. It’s also why there’s no current normal 3 series wagon, C class wagon, or A4 wagon. We had to beg for the RS6 to come to the US and even then sales have not been what Audi would’ve liked, but there was more reason to justify bringing it due to the E63 wagon’s presence in the states. The next gen M5 wagon may come to the states as well because of this.
I suppose in world gone mad with SUV’s, a station-wagon is a blessing.
This giy needs an eye doctor if he thinks that this vehicle looks cool. I wouldnt be seen in it if someone gave it to me for free
It’s a good thing no one asked you
😂😂😂
Would be nice if you explained why it can't legally be driven in the US
Not to mention the ugliest BMW you could buy too
I gotta wonder what modifications would you need to do to one of these to make it street legal. It’s hard to imagine that the car safety standards in Germany are much different than in the US, if not harder to meet.
It has everything you don’t need in a public road 😂🎉
I hate those Mazda rear lights 😂 what is BMW thinking lately
Well; they did it.
They found a way to make the M3 even uglier.
🤣
Can't buy them yet. You'll never by the of this year to early next it's going to be able to sell in the usa.
😂I Live in Europe,picking mine up Today😅
I could buy it. But the funds are missing.
That's what we call the mom mobile.. not buying it
You definitely can drive it on US roads. The only thing illegal is that its never gonna pass inspection without proper modifications.
Anything can be made US road legal, but it may require custom made parts
Source: I built a solar car from scratch and it is now a registered vehicle.
Oink oink. These will never look good with those grills.
If this was available in the US, I’d buy it in a heart beat
What a nice car but man does it sound like 💩
One piece? THE ONE PIECE IS REAL!!!!
Why is it illegal to drive, if it was legal to ship it here?
It has working taillights and headlights, a front and rear bumper, side view mirrors, rear view mirror, working brakes..all the “safety” features needed in a car🤷♂️
The US has a 25 year ban on imported vehicles that aren’t made specifically for the US market. In order for this to be registered and legally driven, it would need to go through crash testing and EPA testing. They were able to bring it over for show purposes, but it can only stay for 12 months before it has to be shipped back.
Another addition to the list of things I didn’t know I wanted and know I can’t have. ❤💔
That grill is DISGUSTING!
Is it weird that the front end actually looks clean on this model lol
Not really. It has a massive grill indicative of a suv (or wagon)
Too big grill, the f80 is the best
If this were available in the US I’d break and end up buying one. They just are clean and don’t overdo it
as an european I can buy one ig
Flawless victory! Ultimate driving machine!
Dont get me wrong i love american cars but man is it CRIMINAL that there arent more performance wagons in the US
The reason why you can't buy these in the US Is because starting in the 90s we were drifting away from wagons as family haulers to SUVs. America is the only one to do this. Countries in Europe don't really have any SUVs it's only cars and wagons. Wagons aren't bought by families in the US so it's a waste of money to appeal to a small car community than actual families who want one
US gets nothing cool 🥺
in "ONE PEACE"
Whyyyy does the us ban these and the rs3 hatch…why
Im from germany so i can buy it.
There are two reasons they're not selling it in the US:
1. Dominance of SUVs in sales.
2. The US doesn't follow the ECE regulations like the rest of the world but stubbornly sticks to its own incompatible regs. So for BMW to bring it stateside they'll have to develop a new car that's compliant.
So, you can blame politicians and soccer moms really. 😉
Thank you for showing me this! Sick ride!
All she needs is a M57
Булкин вошёл в чат
Stunning family car!
Its very unfortunate that America favors SUV’s and Crossovers over Wagons… I need this in my life!!! 😭
Beautiful car and then ruined by lowering springs..
Hey, thanks for no Specs at all, appreciate that.
I literally work with trucking companies that mostly have eastern europeans like me (this is in the us)... They import wagons all the time... I can 100% buy this if I wanted to, and I would, but I don't want extra attention from weird americans who are like "oh my god what is that!!! A suv?!"
And btw it's not the first m3 in the us. I promise you that. If some medium sized trucking company in nowhere can import full audi wagons that ONLY exist in the eu, then there are others that imported m3 wagons and probably will import m5 wagons.
this is the car the “swimmers” need in New York
What ever money hassle and headache they went through was totally worth it.
lol a 100.000$ car that literally sounds like my 2.8L e36... sad
Happy to be from Europe ❤ mine came a week ago 😂
"coolest bmw you can't buy"
Personally there are LOTS of BMWs that i can't buy 😂
It looks clean to me 🤷🏻♂️ us and the shitty rules
"The coolest BMW that you CAN'T BUY!" Except you can buy it, just not in the US, the whole world doesn't revolve around the US.
Baffles me that they decided not to do an estate version.
You can Buy literally anything. Its ALWAYS a question of the price.
BMWs stopped being cool after they stopped making manual transmissions. I have owned a 6266 turbo e36 M3 and a E46 M3. New BMWs are fast but boring to drive, they come off the line looking like DTM cars. No real character in them
In Germany, where the car if from, wagons make up the vast majority of BWM 3/5/7 series. The same goes for Audi. All A3, A4 and A6 here are wagons. They are better looking.
Lol why can't it be driven😂..I'm confused..what's the difference from it and other cars
What do you mean I can't buy. I recently just did...? Jesus christ, you must be starving considering the amount of clickbait
Can’t legally be driven on US roads you say so then that wasn’t his car racing the F90 M5 in New York on ROC NYC’s page 😂😂😂😂
so technically, you broke the law by driving it for the video. you get a Sub from me 💯
I have seen some similar vehicles like this in the state where I live. They are really just modern station wagons. I love the looks of them but right now we don't have much new ones. There are newer models where I live but not many. Beautiful style of vehicles though.
I get one in my birthday GRATIS. LOOL
Meanwhile, 1000 Mexicans just cross the border this morning. I have nothing against my Hispanic, brothers and sisters coming to the US just saying
What is a shame is that the custom exhaust note sounds EXACTLY like a Honda civics with broken V-TEC. Essentially white rice, without any herbs or seasoning.
Let me also guess, it comes only in auto with a ‘revolutionary’ electronic shifter.
This would've been such a beautiful car without those effing nostrils man...
CANT be driven on us roads but will do highway digs in NYC😂😂😂😂
That’s dope asf bro we gotta get these in the states come on please bmw
I've never wanted a station wagon so bad in my life, love they brought back the dual trunk/glass opening method.... although it would have been better to make the rear windshield the automatic version where the glass slides up/down like regular windows. (Basically the same thing on the back of some Toyota 4Runners....and the Hideous old Honda Del Sol)
Yeah as an owner of a 13 wrx hatch. I need this m3 ASAfrickinP!!!!!!!
Took my like back.... There's nothing cool about a 1 of 1 BMW in the States that can't be driven legally.
GM had a nice Cadillac 2022 CT5- V Sports Wagon 1500Hp at a Texas car show. Don't know what happened to that one, this M3 is also nice.
Tuere is literally no reason why wouldn't buy estate cars. They offer lots of space while being quite small compared to some other cars
It is so ridiculous that we can’t have this in US.
I understand that regular vagons like Audi All Road are not popular, but trust me, it’s two different types of people that buys All Road and RS6 or M3 Touring
BMW's haven't been cool since that Henry Hoover ass grill showed up.
Why are station wagons banned from Us? Oh yea SUV land laws
So its special features are just standard features on even cheap normal hatchbacks besides the valved exhaust
