I've had mostly Detroits in my 34 yr career. Just a little piece of advice, make sure that swap motor has the updated valve keepers. I had to learn the hard way.
Great videos. Love the old red International Pickup Joe has in his shop. Need more info on it. My dad drove my uncles canary yellow 1966 international with a 3 on the tree for years after my uncle passed in the early 70’s.
@Wild Wild West I have a Series 60 12.7 in my Kenworth. I bought it brand new in 1999. I love it. I have 2 million miles on it. It has been overhauled twice now. I have a PDI tune in it for 50 more horse. You have the makings of a great engine build setting in the back of your pickup truck!!
I’m a big believer in Detroit engines I had a 94 379 10speed 377 rear axle , and it would run it was a Penske truck with the racing crew NASECAR !!! 😊😊 back up truck , I had it on Tyler Tx Peterbuid and bumped it up too a 500hp and it worked great ?? Love it !!!
I also my first truck was a GMC Brigadier 13dubber over and 6v92 twin turbo diesel engine … and you could here it camping with straight stacks , 14yd dump bed!!!
Joe looks young ❤ 😂 Fantastic find …. Good luck with the new project…. It looks amazing sitting on the back of the Ute ,bet you got some crazy looks when driving down the road with the fan spinning 😂 Ps : You have a beautiful countryside …
I like my DD-16, gets good fuel mileage. I just wish it didn’t have all the crap past the Turbo but I live in California. And I wish it had Jake’s like an X15.
Man the Steady at the wheel podcast 😢 I can't keep myself from checking of there's a new episode has come in. Nothing beats the relaxing voice of Luke and the interaction between the two of you on a drive back home from work. Keep up the good work and keep us in mind of you see an opportunity to get the pod back up. Greetings from Holland, (well actually Germany on holiday for now)
You just get out the ol wrenches and go to work. It’s not illegal on used trucks prior to just recently. ( trucker myth similar to you the old saying you haven’t been allowed in Cali for the last 10 years unless your truck was 2014 or newer.) You just have to remember when you need engine parts you truck vin number won’t get you engine parts.
@@realwildwildwest think im going to clean as many connections as i can find look for any other chewed on wire maybe jack the cab up its a Argosy 2007 you know the fun thanks
Good question. For me, it’s Both engine and Emissions reliability out in the rural setting and electronic log books. Pretty hard to find these Cummins making a million miles anymore it seems like.
You know he’s going slow when an 18wheeler passes u. Looks like ur doing 60mph. That’s how ur getting good gas mileage but it’s taking u way longer than everyone else to get anywhere.
I don't see the win with the series 60 taking a 6mpg motor out for a 6 -6.5mpg motor that is not legal for the clean air act of 1972 no matter how rural it is. not worth it you can buy alot of def, dpf, and egr's for what the black tahoe crowd will come for

I love it!! The screaming D.. I hope all goes well with that motor!
That Ole International Truck Is Pretty Damn Cool.
Always good to have some Joseph in the videos!
Turnpike Trubadors on the radio 3:18. love them
You do such a great job with your videos. Rushing around to get back home to the family you’ve got to be a real cool Dad.

Awesome man! Glad to hear that!
Great find very lucky great video thanks Jax
I put about a million miles on a series 60. It is a great engine.

You'll see. I had a 470 in a 99 international 79000 i could pass every cats going up Hill. There a awesome motor.
Man that chevy moved out oh wait 2 motors, lol. 6 mpg takes a good driver, good job neighbor.
I hope you're doing Speed of Air pistons in it.
Detroit Rules!!
I noticed your Chevy pick up truck there going down the highway at 2000 RPM. Definitely gonna get the best gas mileage.
Hope all is well bud 👍✌️🙏🙏

Hey Jax when ya going to do a video on how to drive to get best mpg. Very curious about your style. Keep up the good work
Coming up here shortly. Did another Holstein run and talk about it on there. Maybe it deserves a completely dedicated video though 🤔
@realwildwildwest absolutely!!! Even tho I'm out of big riggin principals can still be used In the pickem up truck
We have a Cummings at our junk yard in South Carolina out of a bus. I don’t have any info on it but I could get that for you if you’re interest.
Dickinson North Dakota my hometown!
thx Jax
Are you going to rebuild the engine with dimple/speed of air pistons?
No. I’ll touch on that in another video .

Hope you are having a great day sir!
Are you going to start your pod cast again?
It is dead for now. No plans for a revival at this time. ☹️

Id be interested in that engine trans if its manuel gasser or gas engine.
8v92, last good Detroit!!
The dreaded 2 stroke! Good comment just in time for Halloween! 👻
James pretty RUclipsr knows a place in Georgia junkyard.
More smokey Joe!
Do I need to be gathering series 60s for you?
How can you swap an old engine if its not titled as a glider?

what would you think if my check engine light keeps coming on says injector voltage and its different injectors every time
The injector harness could be failing perhaps?

Why not just leave that x15 in and do a few upgrades to improve the fuel economy?
Good question. For me, it’s Both engine and Emissions reliability out in the rural setting and electronic log books. Pretty hard to find these Cummins making a million miles anymore it seems like.
Why is Joe so bald?! 😂
Hahaha all those harsh chemicals
To me if the truck doesn’t have a caterpillar in it. It just isn’t very interesting
It also isn’t very profitable.. 🙈
The 7 I have have made me a lot of money
You know he’s going slow when an 18wheeler passes u. Looks like ur doing 60mph. That’s how ur getting good gas mileage but it’s taking u way longer than everyone else to get anywhere.
Bingo, didn’t want that thing breaking loose 😱

Because the egr and def engines will only run half the miles between overhuals ,and they break down every day
@johnrobertson1357 your might mine have not
And the fine would pay for a brand new reman with warranty easily with cash and lawyer money left over
You must not own very damn many of them ,
@johnrobertson1357 well they are not Cummins Detroit or paccars
