Bought the 14 inch a month ago, unfourtently, The OLED version wasn't available on my country, so I bought the regular version, But, suprisingly for the price you pay, you get more value then expected! Even for low end gaming on modern titles like elden ring, sekiro shadows die twice, cod mw, fortnite, etc.. I managed to get a solid 60fps on all of them! So overall, even without OLED, This laptop worth every cent!
I love Lenovo! Ordered one of these 2 days ago for my daughter who starts secondary school in Sept. I'd surveyed the market and liked Lenovo's modular upgrade approach and, same a you, surprise how cheap they were! Thought i'd check for reviews before buying and saw this video... good job, I hadn't upgraded the screen! Added that, all-in came to £744 with a few discounts. Interestingly, my work has a discount code for Lenovo (Perks at Work) and while the starting price is a bit cheaper the upgrade prices are double(??) so worked out cheaper buying as a regular punter. Keen to know more about the cable replacement. I just bought an ANKER 45W to fast charge my S24 Ultra, would that work? Very well produced and informative video. Cheers

@@em_923 yes ive been using it for the last 3 months. ive had no issues and battery life has been quite acceptable lasting me around 7 hours at moderate use at 80% brightness. i got mine on sale for 1000 aud and i would say it is worth it.
well since i am using the same exact model for abt a month myself i can say that the battery life is amazing, if and only if u're tryna do some office work takes note etc. If u're tryna run games on it(GTA or Forza), well its gonna run them just fine, but the cooling solution on this ain't build for heavy gaming tbh, even with the fan on full blow this thing will heat up quite a bit.

Nice review, just before seeing this my wife ordered almost exactly same for herself (with me assisting with upgrade suggestions)... and your review made her really happy with the choices we'd made! Made use of the Lenovo EOFY savings, so what would have been an AU$2000 laptop was now just under Au$1400. We didn't bother with 6E Wifi as no plans to upgrade from our current home setups. I'm very confused buy the 2 in 1 Lenovo range! There's also a Yoga 7 2 in 1 (14) with the same Ryzen 8840HS CPU, iGPU, RAM, SSD storage & 16:10 OLED display. The Yoga 7 2 in 1 has HDMI 2.1 and a larger battery. That's about the main differences I can see...? Presumably, this is a cheaper build with a plastic body? yoga 7 2 in 1 have slimmer body footprint, face login, Core Ultra 7 chipset, overall just feels more premium. That said if your budget allows, Yoga is a no-brainer

If you plan on writing a lot, I wouldn't recommend it. It's absolutely fine for marking PDF's or drawing a quick diagram - just not great for long periods of note writing
Hmm I was wondering if this laptop would be good for uni to be able to take notes by hand as well as do some medium demanding data analysis/scripting. If the touchscreen isn't all that good for writing with the pen maybe it wouldn't work out?
I buy tech for the long haul so I chose the IPS panel. OLED has a finite lifespan and any use takes away from this, so regardless of what you display - static or dynamic - eventually pixels that are more worn will become visible relative to their surroundings. I just bought one with the 16GB RAM/1TB options and other discounts which came to $$595 direct from Lenovo.
Please can you answer these two questions, the first: NTSC is 45%, but is it really that bad? Can you enjoy watching a movie? And the other question: Can you open the laptop with one hand ? Thank you!
I just bought it - yes it can be opened with one hand but as you see in the video, the bottom part lifts up a bit when doing so. Multimedia is also just fine to watch, not as clear as a TV of course put colours and everything still looks great. Tip: I tuned up the colour settings a bit in the AMD app for a few games I play regularly to make the colours pop more. You could do this for the whole setup if you want more intense colours.
So I initially decided on the Asus zenbook 16g but the price went way up over the past couple of weeks. This seems like it'll be a good substitute and they have it at Costco for $650. I'm starting school next month so hopefully they'll still have it by the time I get my financial aid. I'm wondering about the battery life and the heat/fans tho.

I am personally using the Flex 5 with no issues, but the ideapad 5 with 8000 series is a new gen along with oled option that the old one does not have. I would suggest get the new one.

Both laptops will feel the same unless you want OLED. Then the new one will cost extra because its OLED is an option. If the difference is that big in price, you can go for 7530U variant i.e gen 8
@@javierandreiotaku for daily work like ms office and media consumption i am able to use it for 6-7 hrs in screentime. If you edit videos and photos it goes to around 4-5 hrs. Gaming will reduce the battery much further to around 3hrs. But for office use and media it's enough
the pen is probably a pen issue, get a precision pen 2. it improves the Performance by a lot on any lenovo Laptop it has been tried on, the one you got here is the basic cheap one. got mine a few weeks ago, and the precision pen 2 is A LOT better, it isnt even comparable in terms of accurace.

Off topic but the color of the table and the light behind you really isn't helping the visuals as its clashing with your skin tone. You should try switching the desk to a darker shade/color and get rid of the light behind you. Loved your review ❤
Hi! I bought the Ryzen 7 8845 version. I work with audio production. I’ve been using it for one day. I don't know if this model gets very hot (especially when charging) or if it's a problem with my unit. I don't want to say "Wow, I can't use the keyboard or touch the laptop", but unlike my girlfriend's laptop (a Dell Latitude), I feel that it gets warmer, especially in the middle area just below the screen. That's where the cooler is with the air outlet at the back.

I don’t agree. The tech now used to manage OLED has come a long way. In addition in Lenovo Vantage you can select options to dim the task bar after a certain amount of time, as well as the whole screen if there has been no movement after a period of time. OLED has been in mobile phones now for years with no issues. I do agree that IPS is still a more durable screen, but if you intend to replace your laptop after 5 to 7 years, then an OLED screen is fine.

8:30 you PREFER the way the noise cancelling sounds?
Yeah - it's got the usual slight over the top feel. But whilst under load you'll pick up fan noise and background noise without it
HDMI 1.4 and no magnets for the stylus are really poor choices that wouldn't have raised the costs if managed properly.

in school use, the fans dont even turn on, atleast on the amd 8645hs model. battery is very good, will last you an entire schoolday easily
