Yeah it doesn’t make sense I’m very particular with my shoes My shirt can be a mess but my leggings and my shoes have to be religiously on point and spotless
It's a way to show that you are indifferent to rules, and so are cool. Gen X and Y did this with Converse Chucks, Vans and Dr. Martens. We never cleaned our shoes, and wore them until they were almost falling apart. The dirtier and more wrecked they looked, the cooler you were, but we did it by wearing them everyday. The flapper generation (1920s) also did this with their saddle shoes. They had to be scuffed and dirty, so they would deliberately scuff them even if they were brand new, and the dirtier they got the cooler they looked. The boomers did the same with their jeans. They wore their 1950s Levis almost everyday until they were falling apart. It was a way to rebel against the formalities of adult life which everybody inevitably had to conform to after college - but could "rebel" against again during the weekends. I draw the line, though, with paying a high price to get the look. That's cheating. I guess because Millennials and Gen Alpha grew up with the internet so they want instant results?
They take years to expire unless it is a clean product. You could also put them in the fridge to extend them. I do agree that that amount of perfume is crazy.
I don’t think it’s insulting to homeless or poor people when we see rich people wearing expensive made look dirty clothes. They’re insulting themself and their non-existing intelligence.
Some years ago, I bought an ice cube tray that made ice cubes in the form of cute, little bottles. I used it for New Year's Eve. Then I began to make fresh juices and freeze them in bottles and thaw them over night. Turns out, my regular ice cubes did not fit in the small openings and the bottle-formed ice cubes did! So, who knows when those circular ice cubes might come in handy?!
Being emotionally unstable made me buy so much because it felt nice for a few moment. Then the feeling dissappears. At one point i realized and decided to spend that money on myself instead of material things. It happened after a few trauma in a short period of time. But to be honest, it was not that big like this underbed.
that's why uninstalled tiktok. I'm weak and can't resist to those cute stuffs I end up buying and spending to much. Those hauls, product recos are money trap.
What I hate to is pr sending an ungodly large amount of product to influence, why are you giving them all shades of foundation when all they need is like 2 or 3 to see what's their shade. Or better send them a sample close their shade and send them the proper shade. They don't need all the shades it's just so much waist
imo it's still overconsumption, even if youre just buying something because it makes your life easier. there are so many sustainable and reusable options that might be a teeny tiny bit more inconvenient than the single-use product, but it's much better for the environment. even the lady in the end is overconsuming, because you really dont need all of that. we're honestly taking it too far and live in such crazy and nauseating abundance, its crazy
I feel guilty looking at the piles of stuff I bought (clothes, bags, purses, wallets, shoes, etc) when I was still overconsumed which have been sat there for decades untouched. I've "repented", no longer buy new things except it is necessarry and have decided to live simply.
I bought my first perfume at 16. I used maybe quarter of it and it made me realize im never going to finish using before it goes bad. After having my baby, I've started collecting books for my baby and i think it's becoming a problem.
I wonder where people even get the money to buy all this stuff. But then I read in the newspaper some weeks ago that apparently there has been a dramatic increase in consumer loans by younger population groups. Which is extremely worriesome because consumer debt is NOT a debt you want.
a have a lot of perfumes, maybe like 12? (It's a collection including 50% my mums) But they're all to use abs in sharing them to th maximum. Use stuff you buy
Yea, I own around 15 full size ones and maybe 15 more tiny travel sized ones (all different). And I just give away the ones I see I’m not really using after some time, I give them to my mom or close friends. They honestly expire quite fast and change the aroma when they get old.
All of that makeup is gonna go bad before you use it!! You realize it will be more likely to cause you harm the longer you own it past the expiration yeah?
Now that I think about it, it was weird when we all had our jeans ripped, but to be fair they’re still in fashion. I only own a pair of ripped jeans but I bought them bc at the time I didn’t have any black jeans and those were the only ones, I don’t use them as often but they’re in good condition I want to ask your opinion on collecting things for fun. For example in the past it could be a post stamp collection, but now it’s something else. There’s nothing wrong with having a collection such as you referred post stamp collection, but when it comes to Skin Care, Perfumes.
