Completely by accident, I figured out an alternative way to "feed" my pikmin their nectar. Instead of tossing individual nectar balls out there, and having to feed each one individually, hold your finger on the nectar droplet and then drag it up and over the group of pikmin. They'll each jump up to feed, and you can drag the droplet across the screen over the group, until they're all fed! It will automatically subtract one nectar droplet for each pikmin that you feed. WAY more convenient this way!
That's the way I do it, yup! I find that the easiest, most convenient way. Also, a bonus tip for you that someone taught me is that you can double-tap a Pikmin to zoom the camera in on them, which lets you feed nectar to just that one Pikmin (the others won't even try to go for it). Useful if you need to precisely distribute your special nectar for whatever reason.
Niantic needs to add a feature where if a pikmin waits 48hours to deliver the postcard and the person does not click it untill those 48hours have passed, he returns by itself
I just started like yesterday. But what if they went and if no one 'answered the door' so to speek (interact with the pikmin) they'd leave it in a mailbox. Idk it sounded cute to me.
There is a feature but its like 4 days
@@_wheat856 there's probably ton of features we don't know lol
Or, at least, some way to call back your Pikmin when you want to. If I were to send, say, Bluigi off with a postcard, then find a blue mushroom challenge, I'd want to bring him back to have my heaviest hitters available. I could then choose to resend the postcard to the person with a different Pikmin carrying it. Problem solved!
@@hollow_indigo1035 we just need a manual/tutorial. :D
Wow, that Mushroom matching color tip was great.
Basically this is what gives you more fire points- decore, the same color and friendship level.
That's the ticket, yup! Not to mention leveling up, of course - the higher your level, the more Pikmin you can send to a challenge. I just got a silver 3-star rank against a small red mushroom today, being able to send 16 Pikmin at once now that I'm at Level 21.
I figured out that you get 10 petals if you release a Pikmin. So you can give them a rare nectar before releasing.
Who would release a poor little pikmin! It couldnt survive alone!!!!
Yes, that's a good tip; I heard that somewhere else as well. A nice way to boost up your petal supplies - for folks who have the heart to stomach sending their Pikmin out into the wilderness to fend for themselves. As Miguel says, I wouldn't want to think about what would happen to it all by itself!
@@ProfessorChasG i dont see many enemys, and im pretty sure they'll stay close to where you live, just in case they do get in danger!
Naming tip - I've started naming my "roadside" pikmin that will just get a letter sticker with a "-" and pikmin with other location types with "+letter" where letter is w for water, g for grocery, h for hair, r for restaurant, etc. Makes it easy to decide which ones to level boost faster.
Also, played while I was on a Southern Caribbean cruise over Thanksgiving. I still have some coming back from Expeditions out there who won't be back for more than a week! Also, I noticed that any of those destinations that happen over actual water, rather than listing a named location, will instead put up numbers that would appear to be a form of longitude and latitude. Interesting stuff!
Ah, the coordinates (lat. & long.) is something I definitely wouldn't have gotten to experience anytime soon. Thanks for the info!
Also if you didn't know it you can change petal types without stopping - just go into the petals display and click on the new color you want to use while you're still planting.
I just recently figured that out myself (I don't know how I didn't think to try that before), and it's a big help to trying to bloom the big flowers I want. Thanks very much for sharing this tip! I'll be going over that when my next video goes up, probably after Saturday's Community Day.
I tried the trick with the photo tagging. I live in Germany and I tagged my picture as being from Monaco. A seedling spawned in Monaco, but then it told me it would take my Pikmin over 4 days to go get it :-)
My friend has a seedling far away from he lives
It will take the 2 pikmin a long time
I think somewhere around 40 or 70 days, i don’t remember
#Worth it
@@Hundo_Mo so true I’d do it lol
I sent 2 pikmin to fiji from Louisiana its gonna take 90+ days to get them back
@@Hotchefmice yes this is what we like to see they should come back hopefully very cultured with a whole New outlook on life
Fun fact if you have less then the maximum Pikmin in your squad and have Pikmin not in your squad, if you double tap the whistle button it will grab Pikmin and put it into your squad!
Does it bring out your most trusted pikmin, least trusted pikmin or a mix of them?
@@mewnaversalstarkid7799 I think most trusted
I was curious what the double-whistle did, but hadn't experimented with it enough to draw any solid conclusions. Thanks for the info!
I feel like chibi-robo needs a game like this where you go outside. After what happened with zip-lash i don't think we will ever get a new chibi-robo game
Tip triple tapping whilstle collects all fruit that pikmin pick up (counts for mushrooms not expeditions)
Ah, thanks for the tip! :)
Thanks for the warning on the Pikmin taking message disappearing I would not have guessed that one.
In order to fill my Decore list I go to the area (like a post office) take a picture and use the detector. Typically the detector will spawn a seedling from that place and when I add the pic to my feed after 9pm it will add a seedling in my expedition list
Good advice! I'll give that a try myself next time I'm out and about. Thanks!
I drive around with the detector on the screen to a spot that has multiple icons available and ping off a radar or 2 and I get heaps of different decor Pikmin form different icons
Besides the initial drop of fruit, what is the benefit of causing a big flower to bloom? Does it increase the chances of an expedition in the area while it’s blooming?
I don't believe so; for right now, it seems to just be the one fruit spawn that happens.
Is there a special reward for completing a decor set?
At the moment, I have no clue, but I'm eager to find out. I still have yet to unlock the Rock Pikmin, though, so I'm not quite close to finding out the answer right now. Once I do, I'll be sure to include it in a future video!
I've completed Roadside (so so difficult :) ) and got nothing. But a bunch of stickered Pikmin.
Just started playing and it’s super cute. How in the world do you search / add friends on here? No laughing, yes, I’m a newbie, lol.
They should expire the delivery, Niantic. I want my pikmin back home
I found out how to get those pansies. They’re from Challenges. You can only purchase tulips from the shop, as of right now.
That's right, yup. But I believe there's a rare chance that big flowers can bloom into a different rarity than that of the flowers you planted. That was actually how I got my first pansy and rose petals in the game. No tulips yet, though, so those may be locked away as a purchase-only item for the time being.
very helpful video! if you could start scripting your videos or creating a system for more organizization you could totally be one of the first pikmin bloom RUclipsrs.
Glad to be of assistance! I'm considering doing a type of summary video where I list (in a more succinct format) various tips and tricks to follow every step of the way, but my initial reluctance on that is that I just know the moment I feel like I've concluded everything there is to know about the game, a new feature or special event is going to be announced, and my video will be immediately outdated. :P
However, I may still do the video idea as perhaps a live stream that people can reference back to.
Nice trick with the double planting method. Thanks and a new subber :)
You're welcome, and thank you for subscribing! :)
Second time back on the video. You seem to be one of the only pro players on RUclips. Could ou please post more vids🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for watching, and the compliment! :) I most definitely plan to put out more Pikmin Bloom videos, once there's new content to cover. They've recently announced a second Community Day event for later this month, and I'll certainly be covering that one.
Thank s for the tips but I knew them before I watched this.
Ur vids are so good a love it when a new one comes out
Thank you, glad you're enjoying them! :)
I’ve posted a couple of cool Pikmin bloom shorts!
lol, don't worry, I'll open it right away.
Why am I even surprised to hear your name in the video when you were one of the first people to appear on my friends list? :D
Sounds good! Though I think I suddenly now realize I never sent you the postcard in the end... If I didn't, sorry! I'll send you one shortly. And if I did, then enjoy postcard #2! :D
Ive got a question do you know how to get pikmin with outfits i have no idea how to?
Yup indeedy! There are two ways. One is if you find and plant a huge seedling (which can be randomly found during your walks); when the Pikmin is plucked from the huge seedling, they also come with their decor item to wear right away.
The other way is to build a Pikmin's friendship to maximum (which you can do by feeding them nectar, sending them on expeditions, and I think even just walking with them in your squad may help). Once they've got four full hearts of friendship, they'll want to go on an expedition to where you first found their seedling to pick up a gift box. When they return with the gift, they'll open it to retrieve and wear a decor item based on the location they came from.
Thanks for the shout out!
You're welcome, and as I said, thanks for spending your time hanging out with us during our first live stream! :)
No problem, I'll definitely hang out in future streams as well!
Does the big flower get determined once it enters the bud state or can you influence it after its in bud form?
You can still influence it. I believe it’s a majority win. I almost turned a blue bud white yesterday, but thankfully had a few blue petals to turn it back to blue.
I'm pretty sure the only thing that determines the flower type is the nectar used on it to turn from bud to flower. Or from leaf to flower if you skip using normal nectar to go to bud stage. Once they are a flower, it seems like they will change based on last nectar fed. So a red flower will turn to a white flower if fed a normal nectar.
Edit: Nvm I misunderstood the question lol. I thought you meant flowers on pikmins heads not the giant flowers out in the world.
I'm not entirely sure of that at this point. First off, take note that the leaf will go into a bud at just 50 small flowers planted around it, leaving another 250 left to further influence its final stage.
Since it takes 300 flowers to bloom a big flower, it makes sense that the majority (over 150) of the small flowers planted around it will determine its final bloom, right? I was doing that today, planting just over 150 blue roses by my 4 neighborhood big leaves, then switching over to basic red petals. My results were:
2 of them bloomed into big blue roses.
1 bloomed into a big red pansy.
And the last one bloomed into a big blue normal flower.
So, in conclusion, I dunno what the heck's goin' on with these big flowers sometimes. :/
It is time!

You can tag a photo to a location anywhere in the world, but you only get 1 expedition a day from tagging a photo.
Does anyone know who to bloom roses? I’m nearly level 18 and never seen a rose
I've bloomed several roses by now, and the way I did it with about 25% consistency is to plant about 200 pansies and 100 normal petals (both of the same color) around a big sprout. With any luck, you may find yourself blooming a big rose instead of a pansy!
How long do the flowers you plant as you walk last? Since the game came out, I have walked the same way to work and home. I hardly plant any flowers now. I may have to change the way I walk now. Lol
Walk on the other side of the street.
@@robp4564 already did. I got more flowers to plant today, seems like its a week or so for them to start dropping off?
I'm not entirely sure, as some of my flowers seemed to disappear after a couple days, while others look like they've lasted for over a week. However, I have learned that you can plant new flowers to replace current ones if they're different types. That even works when trying to bloom a big flower - you can plant 150 flowers, then swap to another petal type and plant 150 more over the first batch, and that'll count as the total 300 needed to bloom the big flower!
@@ProfessorChasG Nice!
I've read they last 5-7 days. The game this is and Pokémon are based upon, Ingress, the portals last about 6 days.
Hey! Thanks for the video! Does anybody know why some Pikmin are like glaring whenever I feed them? I found out that by clicking on them several times I’m getting much more nectar than usual (dunno how much though exactly). When exactly do they do that? What do I have to do to them that they’ll do that? 🙈 thanks for replies if anyone knows….. greetings from Germany 😉
What is special about rock pikmin
Hi, I’m a Pokémon go player trying to get into Pikmin bloom, and I’m very confused on the whole nectar and different colored pikmin flower system. Can anyone explain?
You need to get fruits to get nectar.
Different coloured fruits give different coloured nectar (and at lv15+, nectar can also be a different type of flower)
You feed the nectar to the Pikmin to get petals.
Petals are used to plant flowers on the map
Ghaztlious gave good advice to get you started there. I'll add on that you can find small fruits by walking around with your Pikmin squad, and they'll pick them up. You can also use petals to plant flowers around big flowers (they start out as large sprouts on the map) to make them bloom and produce a large fruit, which provides much more nectar.
As for having different colored flowers on your Pikmin, the only real difference is that, when you feed them any type of nectar, they'll produce a petal for you of the type and color of flower they grow. (You can then use those petals to start planting those types of small flowers as you walk on the map.)
Other than that, I don't think the Pikmin's type or color of flower has any impact on gameplay - it's more of just a personal aesthetic choice.
Thank you!!
What do the flowers do the big ones you need to grow 🌼
Whenever you bloom up a big flower after planting the 300 smaller ones around it, it will produce a large fruit that you can send your Pikmin on an expedition to pick up. The fruit will give you nectar based on the type of flower that bloomed - for instance, a big yellow pansy will give you yellow pansy nectar, which you can feed to your Pikmin to produce yellow pansy petals, which you can then plant as you want.
@@ProfessorChasG thank you now I know what I can do with it (:
Well, since playing from the beginning, I have only just noticed you get something when you swipe up or down the stem of the huge flowers once in bloom! I wonder if that has been a thing since the beginning or if it's new? I apologise if anyone has already mentioned this . I can see you all raising your eyes and laughing at me for only just realising this. Lol. Great video btw, I learned some stuff. :)
I named my black picmin to coconut 🥥
Love the video keep it up
Thanks, will do! :)
Would it be possible that you add bookmarks in your useful videos?
That was actually something I was considering doing the other day (and promptly forgot about because I'm a bit forgetful at times), so thanks for the helpful suggestion and the reminder! I'll get right on it when I'm not busy, later tonight; I'm sure I won't forget this time, I don't think...
Good content :)
Thank you! :)
How come I have to go to friends to send a postcard? The postcard and flower thing doesn’t show if I do the whistle.
I dunno; that may be a shortcut that only opens up at a certain level, perhaps.
@@ProfessorChasG I am lvl 14. What kind of phone do you use? I am thinking maybe it is different between iOS and Android...?
Is rose nectar a regonal thing i keep only getting pansies nectar.
To be honest, I don't know, and that's actually a great question. It makes me wonder if there will be (or are) region-specific flowers that can be bloomed, and if so, if we'll be able to send petals to folks through the postcard system eventually. It would be cool to get, say, a small jar of lily flowers from a far-off region that you could then work to start planting in your own neighborhood!
Now, in the case of roses, I've heard that some people think it may be a level-locked upgrade. Keep trying to grow roses as you level up (I've grown mine by mixing normal and pansy petals of the same color around the big sprouts), and hopefully you'll achieve success eventually!
I'm downloading the app on my fiance phone she does over 20k steps at work. So she can play on her break🌼🌼
That sounds like a good plan! Plus, while she earns those steps, items may generate around her area for her to collect once she fires up the game to see them.
I think I’m gonna catch this one
Anyone know if there's a guaranteed way to get roses or if you just plant pansies and hope? I planted all pansies on a untouched flower was still a pansy...anyone know how to get a rose please?
Actually, you did everything the right way! In my experience, at least. I've now bloomed red, yellow, and blue roses by simply planting about 200 pansies and 100 normal flowers (all of the same color, of course) around a big sprout, and hoped for random luck to pull through and bloom me a rose instead of a pansy. So far, I'd say I've had a roughly 25% success rate doing that, so just stay determined and keep at it, and eventually you should bloom yourself a rose.
Hi hats your friend code?
I like ur intro
Thanks! :)
I got to be like 69. That just made my day
Prof. - A little too for you. I would really like to learn about the tips and tricks, but I don’t have the time to watch your 30min- 1 hour videos. Not many people do. I would suggest you tighten it up a bit. This is the era of Tiktok, where people watch 4 second videos. make your videos about ten minutes or less, and I think you would be a real hit
Eh, I prefer these long videos - different people have different preferences and different people make different content
If you want speedy content, then look for it somewhere else where there is someone making 1 minute tips videos or you could just scroll on reddit
Thanks for the feedback! If my sole intent was to just provide specific information, then a shorter video would definitely be the way to go. The style of these videos, however, is almost like an IRL playthrough of a new game, where I show my own progress to give people a heads up of things to come so they'll know what to expect and be ready if need be, while sharing other tidbits of info along the way. If the length of the videos causes some folks to shy away from watching, that's unfortunate, but understandable. I'm content with how things are going right now, personally. :)
Plus, if someone's looking for just a bullet list of information, they could probably find such a thing much easier posted on a website (such as Reddit, as Ghaztlious mentioned) than in a video format.
Good luck to you, you have a pleasant demeanor
Yeah maybe you don't but alot of us prefer the longer in more detail video if u got a problem go else where 🤷♀️
I got black picmin did anyone else got it
Congratulations! I have yet to find my first one, if by "black Pikmin" you mean the Rock ones. I feel like I'm very close to unlocking them, though, so hopefully it won't be too much longer!
Yeah just keep do those quest/mission
And yeah i mean the rock Pikmin
Yup, you get them at level 23~
I have lots of rock pikmin. They can carry more weight but in challenges they don't seem effective. They just bounce off the mushroom and roll back, no explosion
Was my comment deleted?
Not that I'm aware of, no! At least, not by me. RUclips sometimes (rarely) blocks or deletes comments on occasion, probably based on whatever filters are in place. I don't know exactly why, but sorry yours seems to have been deleted!
Im not using the post card feature it isnt even useful
Understandable. There isn't very much to it at this point, but I imagine someday they'll add something else to it - perhaps the option to attach an item or send a Pikmin as a gift or something.
