    I did the lease purchase with a guy from New Jersey Atlantic County area got his 2002 Peterbilt long hood 379 and Truck had over a million miles but Truck ran very strong for several year. I paid $45,000 and it only needed a paint job. He was happy to paid monthly on time $700.00 weekly and I paid him in full. The Truck is still good but need newer motor but still runs.
    Thank you for demonstrating between buying and lease purchasing.

    Great info Jeff, you are a great mentor for all of us drivers who are looking for knowledge about the business. I plan on doing a lease purchase through schneider I am a company driver right now and plan on starting my business up in September. If you could find the time to do a video on the tax side of the business that would be great. I also would like to hear your thoughts about freight lanes and where to run in order to prosper. Happy Birthday and enjoy your home time with your family. Thanks again for all the great videos it has made my decision to start my own business much easier. Now all I have to do is decide which truck to purchase, more research..any thoughts. I am going to lease brand new.

    One other thing to mention. When your under a dispatcher, if you bail or get the truck reposed, they get the truck back. They will now issue that truck out to a company driver. Win win for company .

    It does not matter what you do in life, if your responsible. What I mean about responsibly is cooking your own meals, keeping your equipment up,and not blowing tour wad on dumb stuff, your chances go up exponentially. That's the deal folks.. don't pay others to replace mommy. Do it your salf and take pride in who and what u r. Period the end.

    Hi Jeff... what additional advice can u give to a driver if he/she wants to buy a truck paying cash? New or used truck.

  • @ricicon6169
    @ricicon6169 9 лет назад +7

    Your crazy if you think you can put down $5k on a truck, try $15 to $25k to buy! Not all loans have balloon payments. You guys who work for companies always defend lease, or lease purchase, the thing is just because your not very smart doing what your doing doesn't mean you need to defend to us smart guys who wouldn't even think of doing this. Go out and buy a truck for cash, you don't have cash too bad..! Stay clear of truck leases through trucking companies, they will screw you on interest that is why they do what they do cause your not putting money down and majority of drivers have shit credit..., you don't have the credit to buy a truck then stay a company driver.....Also stay clear of mega carriers!!!!!

    • @yahyakamara1221
      @yahyakamara1221 8 лет назад +5

      +Richard Wyatt I did get a Truck for $5000.00 on a 2002 Truck long ago, but there was no ballon payments on the lease purchase and I do not use a dispatch.
      I am a Heavy Hauler and I never been a Company Trucker nor went to school for CDL in fact started out in Trucking as a Truck Helper load/unloader for few months with the Owner -Operator and he asked me to get a permit to help him drive his Mack and we ran every State plus Canada and that when I started seeing CASH. John was a cool Trucker and took care of me. That was back in year 1986 and Trucking not the came from the as it was in 1986 .
      I really do not trust being a Company drivers and never been a Company guy.

      +Yahya Kamara by the way what you said about $5000k or %15 to $25k true to because I have check around, however there aree some places that may take $5000k down, but what kind of Truck are you buying???

  • @DanielGarcia-zz9eg
    @DanielGarcia-zz9eg 7 лет назад

    lease you can just trade it in for a newer one or walk away. buying you in it for the long hual. it's takes a good driver to push it. if you can't run it good then stay as a company driver.
    thanks for the info on buying and lease

  • @marcusagrippa8078
    @marcusagrippa8078 9 лет назад

    a big difference between a bank and a carrier. it doesnt behoove the bank to take the truck back they cant use it they want the money, a carrier will have you buy the truck find a reason to take the truck back (you broke the contract maybe because of a highway infraction) then put joey greenhorn in it as a company driver.

    • @Listen2Like
      @Listen2Like  9 лет назад

      The one I am with now is a much better system. They have a vast freight pool and you don't have to call anyone you just click n go. They use to not have a year requirement but I have heard 10 yr or newer but you can always ask if your truck is older. If you want to discuss the companies over the phone email me at liketrucking@gmail.com

    What I don't get about lease purchase programs and O/O for large companies is they mostly pay $1 or less per mile. I have seen more then a few drivers run the operating cost per mile to be $1.30- $1.50 a mile. How can you run with a company and make money if they are paying less then your operating costs?

    • @Listen2Like
      @Listen2Like  9 лет назад

      Because you get onto a company that pays percentage . Then you make more than what you just posted .

    • @ski1123
      @ski1123 9 лет назад

      And what would you consider a good percentage I see a lot for just 60% still seems low for you running your equipment?

    • @bartnash8340
      @bartnash8340 9 лет назад +1

      ski1123 Personally I prefer working on a percentage basis, but percentage or per mile. the thing to remember is what is the bottom line. Those companies you see paying a higher rates will pass on more responsibility to the contractor. If I could lease on with someone that payed 99 cents a mile but paid most of my expenses enabling me to maximize my bottom line, I would consider it. Again the most important thing is what will be your overall cost and bottom line.
