No, lots of scalers want to go with the Hitec 7955tg servo, but there are better alternatives like the 1283sg and now the 1210sg (Waterproof). Thanks for the info on that though
Add SW-1210sg to my Slash Platinum VXL LCG 4x4 from recommendation of Savox customer service after looking your sleeper Slash project episodes and was looking for a waterproof servo. Thanks RCN from your sharing videos, it help me a lot, to get my personal project to a competitive level.

The Pro4HD is great, so much, I bought 2!! Super smooth, super cool (temp) and only had to jump up a couple of teeth to match top end speed of the 4600

Just wanted to share my video on the Savox 1210sg waterproof servo. I was able to run it now and it has loads of torque, it's pretty quick and love that it's waterproof from the factory! Check it out!
Savox steering servo is great to have and I own a savox steering servo and it is durable and I think it is a metal gear or steel gear, but not sure though
Another great video. Forgive my noob question, but will that fit in your slash project truck that you installed the 1258tg in? I'm working on an identical project slash and am considering this as a servo upgrade with a kimbrough servo saver. I'd appreciate your feedback!
Great thanks for the response I'll order them asap then as far as ESC I'm running the TEKIN RX8 GEN2 WITH T8 2250KV 2 MAXAMPS 9000XL 7.4 100C for just bashing around and the track think I can give them good power I'm set at 6v now so I don't smoke the stock TRAXXAS ones think it goes higher but arent those rated only up to 6v and of course I've got the 11.1 if I want to go 90mph too lol thanks keep cranking out vids nice job very informative
Just curious if you use the rubber grommets? Have mine installed on scx10ii but grommets seem to become too smashed when tightened down on aluminum servo mount.. thanks for any advice !
Would you recommend this for a slash 4 x4 or is this overkill ?? I purchased this servo for my vaterra ascendor and I'm rebuilding my slash platinum and I'm tempted to use it in the slash I have not used this servo yet in anything but I need a waterproof servo in my slash thank you in advance for any advice I LOVE this channel
It should fit in fine, although its a very tall servo, and the SCTE mounts it standing up. Worst case 4 little 1-2mm spacers would do the trick to have almost 300 oz/in of waterproof torque!
+moey nolala There's such a huge jump in performance and durability just from a $30 to a $69 servo - like say the Savox 1258tg - It cranks out 166 oz/in and has a .08 sec transit time, titanium gears....wow!
I just recently got a couple of these to run in my Summit (which I previously upgraded to a single Savox's 1230sg, but I'm swapping that out into my Tekno mt410 when I get to it), so far I still have the stock esc (still haven't decided on if I'll upgrade it, I want to run it until I have to replace something between this and the motor). Anyway, would I be ok with just a glitch buster which I currently already have on the truck, or should I use the CC ebec (which I've just been sitting on, as I am not sure how to wire this with the evx2)?
Try the GB first to see how it handles it. Drive it around and if you notice the steering cutting in and out or the ESC just re-starting, you may need a BEC. With that.....you can switch to Hitec or Futaba and have no issues!
i made a custom built AX10 (kind of heavy) for hard rock crawling, and i have been constantly stripping gears in my cheap power hd lw-20mg servo. i need a servo that will stand up to the rock crawling.. i was looking at this Savox 1270TG or maybe the savox 1210SG. what do you think would be a batter choice. i like the fact that the 1210SG is waterproof, but i am not sure it will hold up to the rock crawling.
I'm not really a fan of Savox anymore...especially for rock crawling. Check out the Futaba S9177BLS: www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFSFZ&P=ML It has 569oz/in of torque and a transit of .11 sec. PLus most Futaba's are Waterproof.....and this one is!
I am looking at the servo you are suggesting. I do not see where the site says its waterproof? The site also says its made for airplanes? Am I missing something? Was thinking of using this either for my Ascender or Slash 4x4. Sorry, not trying to be crass about it.
should i get 1 or two of these to replace my stock e-revo brushless servos? guess I'm asking will 1 be enough to compensate both the stock ones the same? or will i need two and just have overkill?
drog343 nope....if you're looking for waterproof, check out Futaba Servos. Most of them are waterproof from the start. Look at the BLS172SV....last servo you'll need for either of those two
I'm wanting to upgrade my revos got an e revo and a 3.3 from the TRAXXAS 2075 to the savox waterproof no problems with them yet just want more torque question is first off will this one fit revo chassis and I want to stay with dual servo setup will these be too much torque if there is such a thing lol just don't want it causing other issues I'm running a spektrum DX4 radio just fyi
The 1210 is a great alternative to give waterproof security with huge torque! As far as too much torque........Not really a such thing! It's like too much horsepower! They should fit with no problem. You may need to install a BEC deppending on what ESC you are running. The Savox servos are very power hungry
Haha, i just had to put it out there :) I've bought one of these servos for my Scx10 from Rcmart, so now i'm just waiting so i can mount it and go out for some fun in the snow :D
Question will this servo work in the trx4 defender without blowing the esc? I run a mamba micro x and 2.0 bec and bought this servo, before a friend stated traxxas told him it would fry my system.. is that true at all? I don't know
@@TheRCNetwork 1 last question PLEEASE...if the Savox servo steering is super short; I re-set steering 30 times. Can't turn much. Is that most likely a servo or esc issue? Possibly power? Turning radius on defender is poor poor. Thank you fir what you do!

According to Traxxas, the Receiver can handle up to 6V. If i set the internal BEC to 7.5V, can i risk to damage the Receiver? Thanks

Metal/Titanium geared servos are intended for more extreme circumstances where you might have a heavy RC, Powerful RC or rock crawling. Metal geared also helps when not running a servo saver
I think it would be right in line with that set up. Typically you want about 300 in/oz of torque for the Savage, but if Waterproof is what your after, the 1210 is almost there.
stihldw26 You may need to look at clearance on the support bars crossing the ladder chassis.....I removed one of them for the servo and because I have a different bumper
stihldw26 Really, just look at the ride height and clearance with the body. I added a lift kit to raise the shock mounting point with some Pro-Line trail shocks. It really depends on the size of the 2.2" tires....There's so many heights, so be careful
It should. It's a regular 1/10th / 1/8th sized servo, but is a bit longer can. Check the link in the vid description for exact sizing and compare to yours.
+Kevin Vasquez It should fit fine.....Just measure the depth, as this is a longer canned servo than normal. Check my vid description for a link to Savox for measurements
Tony D'Alessio Savox does not list specs for 7.4v, so I would assume not. The websote states 4.8v/6.0v. Here's a link: www.savoxusa.com/Savox_SW1210SG_Waterproof_Digital_Servo_p/savsw1210sg.htm
The RCNetwork while it fits i do worry it will have an abrasive relationship with the velineon esc. many report absolutely needing to run it with an external cap or bec.
Yeah, most savox will require some sort of power management. The easiest solution is a voltage Cap (Spektrum sells one for about $6) which plugs into any open port on your receiver. Pretty simple and solves the problem
By Voltage Cap, you mean a Glitch Buster, I guess? I got a 6v/6A UBEC, hope it is fine as this Savox model uses up to 5A at 6v when used at max capacity. Thanks for clarifying!
Im pretty sure I got a fake.. I ordered the 0252mg Savox for my dex210 just to hold me over untill I can get the 1258tg like I have in my Desc210 and it came in a cardboard plate with hard plastic around it... and its not as good as ones I have seen in person my buddy has one and he got stickers and the typical savox packaging so Im not sure I got it from Amainhobbies
If no one has written it before the IP67 means it can be submerged into 1m/3ft. of water for an extended period of time and still work without any issues (Atleast for 30 mins before the risk of water will start to seep in through the seals) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_Code The Xpert RC WR servo range also has the IP67 Rating. www.xpert-rc.com/ they only make Brushless servos in both LV 4.8V-6.6V and HV 6.0V-8.4V variants. In contrast to the Savöx and many other servos the Xpert servos are very quiet when idle and waiting for input from the RX . gixxerstuntin This is a pretty old video, and at the time the highest spec'd WP labeled servo on the market. Since then, I really don't care about waterproofness in electronics, as I choose not to run my RC's in those conditions. Since then, I rock a Hitec 9380 and 9370 in two of my Yeti's. Great servos! I've also have several 7955's as well.
Nathen M. Not a big fan of Savox anymore.....constant issues and the noise just got on my nerves....I'll pay more for a Hitec or Futaba and never worry my servo again...
Lol.. Just take my word the stock screws suck! Water is every where.., wet clay, water is even in the air.. Lol. rust and rc's don't mix .. I air compress my rc's and sometimes hose them down with soap and water.. Well it's your rc and I know we both don't but cheap sh!t.. Like machocave's motto " everything matters".

Most SAvox servos do.....which is why I switched over to Futaba and Hitec for all my servos
Yeah, I'm not a fan of the gold either. The blue is the new black!
Good info .... 🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Glad it was helpful!
Does this have enough torque to be used in tekno mt410?
In my opinion, no. The MT410, even with smaller Tires needs at least 350+ oz/in of torque.
The RCNetwork alright thanks does the savox Ryan Cavalieri edition is a good choice for the tekno mt410
What's the return policy??? lol
Would this savox work with my axial scx10 if not what would you recommend
stihldw26 Thats what I run it in now......works great!
stihldw26 You may need to look at clearance on the support bars crossing the ladder chassis.....I removed one of them for the servo and because I have a different bumper
Cool thanks also thinking about switching over from the stock 1.9's to the 2.2 size tires what else do I need to replace
stihldw26 Really, just look at the ride height and clearance with the body. I added a lift kit to raise the shock mounting point with some Pro-Line trail shocks. It really depends on the size of the 2.2" tires....There's so many heights, so be careful
Can this servo fit a Savage Flux HP
It should. It's a regular 1/10th / 1/8th sized servo, but is a bit longer can. Check the link in the vid description for exact sizing and compare to yours.
can that go on a scx10 jeep
+Kevin Vasquez It should fit fine.....Just measure the depth, as this is a longer canned servo than normal. Check my vid description for a link to Savox for measurements
Video's coming real soon! Just taking care of some business first!
Can this servo handle 7v bec?
Thanks
Tony D'Alessio Savox does not list specs for 7.4v, so I would assume not. The websote states 4.8v/6.0v. Here's a link: www.savoxusa.com/Savox_SW1210SG_Waterproof_Digital_Servo_p/savsw1210sg.htm
Do you know if Savox has a servo that will support 7.4 volts
Tony D'Alessio Many of their High Voltage line will.....most of the 227x will.
Will this servo work on Slash 4x4?
Yep, fits perfect and is waterproof!
The RCNetwork
while it fits i do worry it will have an abrasive relationship with the velineon esc. many report absolutely needing to run it with an external cap or bec.
Yeah, most savox will require some sort of power management. The easiest solution is a voltage Cap (Spektrum sells one for about $6) which plugs into any open port on your receiver. Pretty simple and solves the problem
are these caps small enough to squeeze into the receiver box? i appreciate the advice :)
The Spektrum is about 1" x 3/8"
Does anyone knows if that servo works fine on a Castle Sidewinder 3 ESC or shall I need a BEC?
vohnkar666 You will need a BEC or possibly just a Voltage Cap on the Receiver (simple plug in device from Spektrum or Racers Edge)
By Voltage Cap, you mean a Glitch Buster, I guess?
I got a 6v/6A UBEC, hope it is fine as this Savox model uses up to 5A at 6v when used at max capacity.
Thanks for clarifying!
I believe the GlitchBuster's name is owned by Novak, but yes, that type of device
I don't know what is wrong with the receiver w/failsafe it from tactic
+Kevin Vasquez If it's a new radio, did you bind it to the radio? You can also try to re-bind it. There's info on that in your owners manual
Wow, that's weird! Contact Amain and ask for a replacement. I would also contact Savox in Utah and ask if they're packaging like that.
how abt yeti xl rtr?
+Gretchen Hoffer It will fit, but may be a bit underpowered for the hug size of the Yeti XL
MIT - Made In Taiwan
IP67 - is an Ingress Protection Rating
that is one sexy looking servo!
I wish!
thanks
I use a castle 2200 motor as a servo
wow
How
+Overlord [GD] It just works u don't question it
If no one has written it before the IP67 means it can be submerged into 1m/3ft. of water for an extended period of time and still work without any issues (Atleast for 30 mins before the risk of water will start to seep in through the seals)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_Code
The Xpert RC WR servo range also has the IP67 Rating.
www.xpert-rc.com/ they only make Brushless servos in both LV 4.8V-6.6V and HV 6.0V-8.4V variants. In contrast to the Savöx and many other servos the Xpert servos are very quiet when idle and waiting for input from the RX . Check out my video with an Xpert WR-6601HV servo. ruclips.net/video/LgCcGOKEzZk/видео.html
Hitokiri2000 Thanks for the info
Just put this in my Notorious
Nice!
my car dose not turn on it's a axial scx10 jeep cr edition
+Kevin Vasquez Loaded question. I need to know way more than that!
and it probably still just sitting in his closet
You never said how many teeth the servo has. I cannot find it on the Savox website either. Great vid otherwise. Keep up the great work.
Oper8or all Savox are 25t
Ty sir. I finally found it on the site.
If u think 277oz of torque in a 1.9 scaler is alot u must not comp with it, don't waste your money Hitec 7950 if u wan't the Savox killer
gixxerstuntin This is a pretty old video, and at the time the highest spec'd WP labeled servo on the market. Since then, I really don't care about waterproofness in electronics, as I choose not to run my RC's in those conditions. Since then, I rock a Hitec 9380 and 9370 in two of my Yeti's. Great servos! I've also have several 7955's as well.
gixxerstuntin yeah for double the price.
Nathen M. Not a big fan of Savox anymore.....constant issues and the noise just got on my nerves....I'll pay more for a Hitec or Futaba and never worry my servo again...
The RCNetwork I run hitec, but in the interest of others looking for something in the same price range...
Lol at rti! It's mit for made in Taiwan
Nice!
Mit is made in taiwane
Thanks for the info! First time I saw that marking on a Savox Servo
Can this fit my DHK Zombie?
Dos this servo fit the E revo without many modifications to the chassis???
Szabi ESz Not sure, as I haven't owned an E Revo.....It fits a Slash 4x4 LCG though......probably a safe bet
Would this suit a Yeti XL?
It would barely be okay....the XL is big with HUGE tires. It would be nice to see more torque - check my review I posted today on the ProTek 170SBL - that would be ideal for the XL
