- Опубликовано: 2 ноя 2023
- 🇯🇵 EPISODE 1 🇯🇵 | I hired gamer turned semi-professional drifter, @rhysconklin55 , to teach me how to drift on my simulator! Rhys was only 15 at the time of recording this, and his talent is undeniable. This is episode 1 of my IRL Japan Drifting Series. I've been challenged by the legendary drifting champion, Daigo Sato, to a tandem at his home track, so I'll be spending the next few weeks preparing in the mountains of Fukushima, Japan. Subscribe to see episode 2 where I purchase and unveil my first drift car!

Want to live out this experience yourself? I'd recommend contacting Power Vehicles who are based at Ebisu. They are the shop that sourced my car, tires and other consumables, and provided track support when stuff broke. They can also help you export the car back home if you want! Can't recommend them enough: powervehicles.com/

As a console player that doesn’t have a handbrake, I also use the left paddle as my handbrake😂 have been doing it like that for almost a year and it’s muscle memory now
What is the game called?
And where can you get it?
Rhys is such a good kid really loves it glad to see him featured here
Rhys is the most concise and patient 15 year olds I’ve ever seen. I know I wouldn’t be able to explain ANY concept the way Rhys did here at his age
Average kids growing up: plays minecraft
That one kid at school: shredding tires on circuits
Your vids are full of amazing tips and tricks I learnt so much from all of em love ur content
Rhys is a good friend of mine, not sure if you adjusted your wheel base settings, it looks a little off? So make sure the degrees is the same from your sim software and assetto corsa I always forget to change it as well as finding a good drift profile for your wheel base. I have simucube and I found that Hynez drift build is perfect. I just set the FFB to the each car I drive at 60% in game and 100 % in the simucube app. If you don’t know how to change individual car FFb all you have to do is go to top right in settings look for the wheel and change it to 60! Hope your drift journey goes well, I’m trying to learn road racing, maybe we could help eachother out!
I would definitely argue that learning to drift without a hand brake first is super beneficial as it teaches you to drive without it and not rely on it as it’s just a tool but not something you’re meant to be using constantly.
I personally don’t recommend learning a hand brake entry until you’ve learned how to consistently do a clutch kick entry
I really wanna be like him I started drifting on a sim at 9 to and I’m 12 right now still not drifting in a car so he is really lucky! It would be an honor to meet Rhys
About foot braking for drift entry, it's only a bad thing if you have your BB to the front.
When I started drifting on AC I didn't have an ebrake, so I worked my way with foot braking, and kept it as a habit. But even if now I don't use that method anymore, I still have my BB pretty much to the rear to help to balance the car through a drift or if I need a quick ebrake-like input but prefer to keep both my hands on the wheel for better control
Ya brake balance is a good point. The bias was pretty far forwards but I wanted to keep it that way since I know the real car will be stuck at stock bias.
You really shouldn't need to mess with the stock brake balance, it's more important for left foot braking mid-drift. Just use the handbrake if you want a handbrake-like input.
This is cool man
Love your videos
Whenever i TRY to drift, i keep just correcting the drift
Love the video, you should try to make a video seeing who is faster around a course you a formula driver vs a drift racer sliding all around. It would be really cool to see who has more of a lead and if the flashy moves of drifitng are better than just pure speed and keeping a good line
Im sorry to say but grip is 100% faster than drift, if not, formula one would be drifting
@@grooveseeker6269 yeah I kind of figure that but I was thinking if there's like track they could try that would put them both to the test but that is a good point punching it in a straight line is always going to be better than being flashy. My thoughts were like see who is gonna do better around all those turns and stuff if the drift will help keep that momentum and speed up or if it just with keeping your line and flooring it would be better but yeah I can see why it wouldn't work really
it will help you to setup neck fx so you can look through the corner when sideways rn hard to see where youre going
Would love to see more drifting videos.
On it! Real life drifting content kicks off this Friday
How do u guys play together in the maps that u want? I’m tryna do this w my friend
Ive ran car x alot using a handbrake should be easier than clutch you just have to give the car a bit more power than usual.
would defo increase fov and maybe enable neck fx
Hey, can you tell us what car mods you’re using and which track mod? I’d like to try it out.
use the handbrake to a higher angle to turn and to slide higher and then rip the clutch then rev the engine to 9000 rpm to keep the drift turn to the wheel to the opposite angle lower the speed for turns and increase the drift speed
10 minute batch
You should watch some videos of AdamLz drifting in Japan at Ebisu.
Nice u spun out at 6:30
The lead car is meant to do a lap like they would in qualifying, moving away from that is bad, going off line, slowing down more then usual, etc, it was more common in the early days of drifting to see people trying to purposely make it hard for the other car to follow them.
Oh super interesting. Why the shift?
@@CameronDasRacingprobably coz the competition got tougher as more people were interested in drifting
@@CameronDasRacing What the lead car needed to do was less defined is probably the biggest thing, now it's not just clipping points, you have set zones you need to stay in, parts of the track you are meant to be slowing down in, Formula Drift even have lights on the cars now so you can more clearly see if they are slowing down or speeding up.
can you send a link to the tracks pls
Will you ever get back to racing?
14:07 i dont think they know what beamng drive is the only thing its missing is tire thermal but yeah
What simulator is it
Just curious, is this I racing or Corsa
Alternate Title: I drove the F14T
What is the game name your trying this in
Part 2 oppsite
now we want see you teachim him hod to drive a race car
🤔
He’d do great I expect. I always considered myself a good driver but being a passenger in his drift car I felt super humbled by his ability to carry way more speed than you’d expect and his great car placement. I think he’d also do great at grip driving
Are you Japan rn
The only time i drift is when i apply the throttle too quick
What is the game called?
what game?
What game is this
how can i get into f4 in Poland
😮
first 100 club
bro got a a31 cefiro for a drift car
What game is this?

He is using content manager for mods
Which game is this

Is this Asseto?
Yes! Just running some modded cars and tracks.
You need a headset with a better mic my man
Ya I have a good mic in all the other videos, but panic filmed this one the day before flying to Japan. Didn’t have time to setup the studio 😂
@@CameronDasRacingomg I just saw your reply and I did think you actually would being a relatively big RUclipsr you just made my night lol

Love this video man! I featured a small clip of Rhys in my RUclips video @boostedontario, absolutely outstanding kid. Tried to invite him to the bar after the track and found out how young he was 😅
