Yes.... I had to learn the hard way.... (An enemy shot my bomb while it was still in the bomb bay, It didnt kill me and I gor in range for the drop but I couldnt since it had already exploded)
Nukes are traditionally NOT ARMED until dropped. Using explosives that are inert and require a lot of force to detonate, preventing some idiot dropping it at the airbase or a enemy fighter or lucky flak detonating a nuke on your best airport.
