Firstly, let me tell you that I am 71 years old.
I purchased my Hantek DSO5072p scope and the FG100DDS Function Generator, back in 2021 and have never used them till today, 2023.04.07, when I came across your wonderful video in which you explained how to use it and download the various information files from Hantek.
I am just starting to learn how to repair CB Radio's so this will be a great asset to my bench.
Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks ..... LOL
Thank you. Keep up the good work. I have Subscribed to your channel and look forward to future video's

    Excellent presentation man!
I like and TOTALLY understand your enthusiasm at the beginning. I am the same when a new electronics "toy" arrives. I have been torn between the Hantek DSO5102P and the Siglent SDS1202X-E. Mainly due to the 200Mhz of the Siglent, over the 100Mhz of the Hantek. Though, I have since learned that the Hantek can be "upgraded" via a firmware hack to make it a 200Mhz. Given the $110 price difference for the Siglent and the recent (within 1 year) reviews, I actually will be purchasing the Hantek. Your video GREATLY helped me make the final choice! ;-)
Thank again for making this available,
    Patrick

Thank you so much Hamed. I bought one and (stupidly) did not get the "digital storage..." function. So, I was looking at other expensive options to keep a data log of my tests. But thanks to your excellent instructions, I can keep records of what tests I do without further purchase. When we vary parameters at the same time, it's super useful to "see" how changes affect the desired outcome. Like finding the sweet spot. It's been a year since you made this video, and I'd like to wish you the very best in life. Any companies should be very proud to have you work in their rank. P.-S. I, too, love my little beast.

I just want to take the time to say thank you for going into the detail you did in this video, i ordered the same one using your link from banggood, they seem to have better prices than ebay or amazon (both owned by jeff bezos, so that's a good thing). As regards the plug, that's a standard euro plug (which IS earthed) which works perfectly where I live (Sweden) and in lots of other European countries. The UK and Ireland use the really odd 3 pronged plug (I'm Irish and I even I see that that plug is weird compared to the Euro standard, kinda like the US plug...). Also, when it comes to installing the driver etc, you neglected to mention anything about how the PC connects to the Oscilloscope, which I assume is via the usb port on the rear of the device, otherwise, thank you for this video, it helped me.

I was wondering if this would be a good upgrade from my old TDS3012. But this has 1GSa/S sample rate, the TDS3012 is 1.25GSa/S, which is pretty incredible when you consider it's around 20 years old. This does have a lot of nice features though.

I'd say this is marketed towards people like me that wouldn't notice the difference between 1 and 1.25. what I would say though is that these oscilloscopes from China perform very badly when you use them near their limits.

    • @HamedAdefuwa

You may be right lol I wouldn't trust me but for example at 13:05 I say "500kHz" and the display reads 500,000 Hz and at 14:05 I say "1kHz sine wave" and the display reads 1000 Hz which is 1 kHz right. I think I was just converting Hz to kHz in my head automatically.
Regarding the calibration of the probes, I did actually calibrate them, not really sure why the signal looked so noisy. Could be because I was using the USB port to power the Arduino, and also the Arduino itself has a noisy output. Plus I was using those cheap pin wires connecting between the Arduino and the Probe, which probably acts like an Antenna as well. All of that probably caused it. (I Guess lol - we need a real EE to confirm)

Kind of a clickbaity thumbnail for this video, I think. Should really be “£190 for an oscilloscope”. This isn’t a special deal at all. The scope isn’t doing anything unusual for a device of this price. Glad you’re getting into electronics, but perhaps a bit more independent research on oscilloscopes before purchasing would have helped? You could even have spent an afternoon watching RUclips reviews and first impression videos.

There's a great video from Veritasium on clickbaity thumbnails which I fully agree with: ruclips.net/video/fHsa9DqmId8/видео.html
Also the scope is actually £170 not £190 with free shipping. It's the cheapest oscilloscope I could find, especially considering its shipped from the UK. So to say "isn't doing anything unusual for a device this price" implies many scopes are this cheap which they aren't. I'm looking for a second scope so feel free to point out better/cheaper scopes. Considering I'm not a professional RUclipsr or Product Reviewer, I think it's unfair to attempt to hold me to an arbitrary standard you set. Plus I did actually watch more than 10 videos on this scope across probably the last 6 months. None of them covered things like firmware updating, software installation or CSV file saving and graph creation like I did. I usually appreciate all feedback but this one seems... silly.
In my honest opinion: it's an incredible oscilloscope.
