I've had my True 2-piece skates for about 5 months now. The comfort is second to none, they fit like a sock. In that aspect I couldn't be more happy. That being said, with CCM caught up in the custom foot mold department, I just can't help but think the quality/life of the product would be higher if I had gotten the FT2. Just after 5 months, Obviously I haven't had my True's long enough to speak on the durability, but there are signs that aren't the most encouraging to me already. I think if you have the money to drop on these skates they are worth it, but talk to some of the guys with the new total custom FT2 skates and see how they feel about them first. Great vid Trav.

Do you think true skates are worth it at a young age? I’m 16 And I’m afraid if I get the skates I will continue to grow after I purchase them. Would it be better for retail normal skates until I stop growing?

Bauer custom is awful, they’re not really custom. They take stock shells, sized to eqch foot, then mould them a bit. Mine were like boats around the ankles, in order for the forefoot to be perfect. A rip off.
The crush zone on the sides is actually caused by a profile that is too long. This will also be the cause of your foot pain and other damage. I would have your profile changed to 30 foot this will allow the slate to roll better and increase the life of your skate.

Why don't you just convert your two piece into a cowling?? I assume the boot is still pretty new. Also, you should just try to sell the true holders and steel if you have no option to order boot only. That's what I did with my player set.
Would anyone with the true one piece be able to tell me how the impact protection on the stock version is? Wondering if I should add some more to my order or not. Thanks
I looked at the one piece and the two piece True’s, for the price, the build quality looks lack lustre. Pieces not perfectly lined up, glue coming out of joints. The carbon even looks unfinished. Heard nothing but good things about them though but I just think for $1000 that they would look better than as if prisoners made them on work release.
Had built skates will have issues but I've personally seen the product go down hill so prob not going back, you'll see more next month on the Bauer custom skate program

This coupled with the fact that the overwhelming number of Pro Goalies use 4mm… It’s odd you would want a 3mm that does not have the flotation that 4mm provides. The only reason Bauer went with 3mm is to give an off the shelf feeling of weight savings. The legs are significantly stronger and put a lot of torque to the ice.. Why put WalMart tires on a Lambo?

Well your feet will continue to grow over time but I think custom skates are a good investment.
