@Alexander Angelkovski You know that your country has officially signed an agreement that acknowledges that Alexander the Great was Greek? It is the same agreement which allowed your country to be named north macedonia. So now not only do you say things that the rest of the world knows are lies, but also your government says it is a lie
@Alexander Angelkovski ok so everyone in the world is wrong except you. Every historian is part of a conspiracy to steal your slav nation's "history". At this point this argument has become so funny because literally everyone in the world knows that Alexander was and will always be greek. End of story
@Alexander Angelkovski They did say he was Macedonian just as they said Leonidas was Spartan and Perikles was Athenian. That does not mean he was not Greek. Literally every credible source talks of Macedon being an Ancient Kingdom of Greece. But I guess I should have not expected you to be educated, after all the only thing your country has managed to do after breaking from Yugoslavia is being named Europe’s most corrupt and polluted country. The only reason you are not the poorest is because Moldova and Ukraine exist 😂😂😂

If you know where Hungary is, then a good way to remember Austria is to remember that the two countries used to form the Austro-Hungarian Empire and thus border on each other.

5:04 probably a historical thing. Europe spent centuries defending against Turkish invasions, so the Turks have never been "with us" so we've never considered them European, whereas Russia had a pretty big part to play in European history, not least against Napoleon.
True. Russia played a lot of big parts, good and bad
The way they taught us in school (back in the 90s) was that if the capital of the country is in Europe, then the country is also considered part of Europe; and vice versa. Moscow is in the European part of Russia, Ankara is in the Asian part of Turkey

Its easy:)
Turkey wants to be part of europe, but lets be honestt. It would just be weird for them to join europe. I mean, they are Islamic and the whole of europe is not Islamic. They fit better in Asia.
@@guillaumearnould7836 Well bosnia is a majority muslim country too but they are counted as european. Also turkey's western part isnt that religious and more secular.
it's geography.... what does it have anything to do with "wanting". it is partly in euro partly in asia and frankly if the population wasn't majority muslim, this wouldn't even be a topic of discussion. also what the hell is an "islamic" country? population might be majority muslim but the state is secular. it is not iran or saudi arabia 🙄 which is, again, irrelevant to geography anyway.

Hi, Vlad,
I'm from Brazil, and I'm enjoying seeing your videos. I appreciate your accent, is beautiful for a non native English speaker. At first I thought it was from a Brazilian experienced in English, cause it had sounded familiar to me. Great neutral internacional English you have.
Growing up playing a board game called War, it helped me have a quite general notion pointing counties on the globe. I remember I've got to know some smaller countries around Greece at high school and a bit better by watching the Olympic Games, like Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo. But seeing the full Europe Map I would struggle finding some countries I think I had never heard about like Andorra, Liechtenstein and San Marino.
I would also have problems pointing Malta, despite knowing it is an Mediterranean island. In addition, I didn't know North Macedonia was a country itself, cause I would had called it just Macedonia, as well as you.
Peace out!
Again fun and educational. Mad luv
"Netherlands, I know the Netherlands. It's..this?"
Made me chuckle quite a bit there
I think it is sometimes easier to learn where European countries are if you know their shape, but same is true for certain US states with distinctive shapes like Texas, California or Florida.
The hard part with the states out of the states that are united that most of them looks like the same with four line as border
I’m american and know all of them
surprising right?
Yes, but we are very proud of you
Yes 😂😂
As an American who's never been to Europe and barely ventured outside of California, my score was 100% in 2:17 (Mode: Pin)
Hello from Slovakia, from one Vlad to another 💙 love your videos, man, keep it up!!
An easy way to remember Baltic states is that in English they follow the alphabet: Estonia, LAtvia, LIthuania
In Italy those three names always go together from North to south like in school they teach them that way "Estonia Lettonia e Lituania" so i will always remember them I just need to translate Lettonia with Latvia
I got 100% typing (without autocorrect) in 5:04 minutes.
*I am from Croatia btw*
I think you did well. Because I went to school before the end of the USSR, we didn't do former Eastern European countries in geography so I don't know them at all, just the names. In my day there was also Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia so I'm lost. I really should learn at least where Poland and Ukraine and Romania are.
I just found out last year that Yugoslavia doesn't exist anymore -_-

Slovakia, come on Vlad, that’s your neighbor... ;)
Exactly my thought... What's also funny is that there has been no Czechoslovakia for 27 years and still someone from a neighbouring country, who probably must have learnt already about the Czech Republic and Slovakia in geography classes because of their age, still calls it Czechoslovakia. :-)
@@barboradolejsova2156 No Ukrainians only know Czechoslovakia that's why. It was only like 30 years ago. If he's over 30 he never learned about Slovakia at school.
@@dav2ry7 Come on! I am over 30, in fact 37 in a few days, and I started geography classes in 5th grade in 1995. At that point, there was no Czechoslovakia, no USSR, no Yugoslavia anymore. So we learnt from the age of 11 at school about Russia (and CIS :)), Ukraine, Latvia, Serbia, Albania, etc. etc. USSR and Yugoslavia were only mentioned in history classes. Therefore I presume that people from those countries that are similar age as I am also learnt about Czech Republic and Slovakia, especially if they have common borders with one of those countries. Maybe I'm wrong.
