They are the best a Capella group I have ever heard. To make this music with zero instruments is amazing. So much talent. Kevin is the king of beat boxing.
Mitch sits on the throne as the best in his field by far above all lol. He is just vocally amazing. I like other groups and singers in other positions. boxing, bass, but no one comes close to Mitch in his range.

this is even bettr live. They cover everything from Christmas, to gospel to pop to Rap. they have a huge catalog. Christmas: Mary Did you Know, Gospel: amazing Grace, Pop take your choice any cover or their originals and they do amazing Evolutions of famous sings(start with Michael Jackson. They are just as nice a group of people as they are fantastic singers.

Honestly music peaked in the 90's in my opinion
What’s amazing is that they sound just as great live. The three main vocalists Scott (yellow suit), Mitch (high voice), and Kirstin (mezzo-soprano) are now 30 years old and have been singing together since high school. They formed Pentatonix eleven years ago by adding a bass (Avi and now Matt since 2017) a beatboxer (Kevin). They have a 200 plus song catalog of both covers and originals.
Recommend their Sound Of Silence.

Loved your reaction! Pentatonix is an a cappella group, they just use their voices (an occasional instrument when Kevin the beatboxes plays his cello) but usually just their voices. They have 3 Grammys and platinum album sales. Definitely check out more. New sub ☺️

If you want to experience their "togetherness" try Bohemian Rhapsody or Daft Punk (Medley). They do everything from Dance Music to Religious to Holiday music to Ballads and even a couple of Country numbers. In fact, their 3rd Grammy was with Dolly Parton and the song Jolene. They get SOME of their togetherness with a really good arranger named Ben Bram, who was named in their 1st Grammy (Daft Punk medley).

they sing all different kinds of music. i like that everyone is the star, there really is no fixed lead singer. they all have such different voices but they have something special together. you might like their duet with jason derulo on 'if i ever fall in love'. their latest, the prayer, is epic and really shows the talent of each individual.

Love your reactions, I am a Pentaholic. First time here, I don't know how many other PTX songs you have reacted to. Too many to recommend, lol Evolution of Music, Butter and Dynamite, Break My Heart, Cheerleader, Sing, Can't Hold Us, Can You Feel The Love Tonight, emotional songs like Shallow, Say Something, The Prayer, Amazing Grace. Basically everything they have done is my recommendation. :) Come Christmas time, they have done a lot of songs that you should hear.

Fun reaction. Also if you intend to do more music reactions, a tip is to blur/cover/lower the opacity on the music video, as the video is often what triggers a lot of the copyright blocks (especially from SME, which is the parent company of the record label for Pentatonix and many others, and is notoriously aggressive with blocking reactions). Most viewers have seen the video (and can always see the original), so no worries about covering it.

As someone already pointed out "the trio" Scott (blond guy), Mitch (counter tenor black hair) and Kirstin have known each other and sang together since middle school. When Scott and Kirstin were Freshmen in college and Mitch was in his Senior year of HS, Scott found out about an NBC a cappela singing contest called the 'Sing Off'. THe show required a minimum of 5 members for a group so through a search they found a bass Avi Kaplan (not in this video since he left in 2017 and was replaced by Matt in the red jacket here) and Kevin Olusola who Scott found on a YT viral video of him beatboxing while playing a cell or "celloboxing". They first got together as a group the day before their audition for the show and went on to win the 3rd season. As part of the prize package they were awarded record contract, but a few weeks later the record company dropped them because they "didn't see a market for a capella". PTX had a different idea and decided to create their own content and post it on YT. 11 years, 3-Grammys, sold out world concert tours, 5+ BILLION views and 19 million subscribers later it seems they knew what they had.

Scott and Mitch had a side project vlog called Superfruit which they did fun skits and musical performances together. It culminated with an EP of original pop/dance music called 'Future Friends' that is great. Kirstin also released an EP, 'Love' with her own originals. Kevin "KO" Olusola has a channel of his own solo/collab work (be sure to check out his looping "KOver" of 'Down' for an example of his incredibly versatile talents. And, Avi, the original bass, has embarked on a solo career doing some amazing roots/americana/folk music.

This is doesn’t even scratch the surface of their talent. I highly recommend their “evolution of” videos. They’ve done Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, and the evolution of music. They are all the pentatonix channel. All of their stuff is amazing
They mainly do acapella but they have used instruments in the past and when they do it is prominent in the video (unless they are featured or featuring another group and doing a song more to that group's style). The beatboxer plays the cello and the blonde guy played piano in a music video. Their medleys and mashups are more upbeat but they are known for their Christmas albums and epic movie score like covers. As you can probably tell they have a knack for arranging their voices so everything they do is fire.
They have been together since 2011 with only one member change. Their original bass, Avi Kaplan, left in 2017 and was replaced by Matt Sallee, the guy in the red jacket. All the others are original members. Any song you pick will amaze you. Some of their more noted ones are Daft Punk, earned them their first Grammy, Bohemian Rhapsody, We are Young, Gold, Hallelujah, over 680,000,000 views. They also have amazing originals and many many Christmas songs, not done in the traditional way. Some reactors say they Pentatonicise them. Whatever they do, they are great. I subbed hoping to hear lots more of their reactions. 💕💕

Ok...reading the comments I see you realize that this is an acapella group but I don't feel that you are completely grasping the situation! All of the percussion and bass was done by mouth! No instruments! You're talking about the harmonies which is amazing but the drums and bass are next level with these guys! New subscriber here btw

You can throw a dart at PTXs play list and not miss a great one. Personally I love their original music. They have two original albums (Pentatonix and the Lucky ones/ deluxe) with a few other original songs on top of that including 3 original Xmas songs.

Hi, Pentatonix is definitely a great group with amazing voices. For a little different spin on aCapella groups give Home Free a try. They are a group of guys that call themselves Country but really they do all styles of music and are also extremely gifted with unbelievable voices. Start with “Man Of Constant Sorrows” (from the movie “Oh Brother Where Art Thou”) and then “End Of The Road” (Boys2Men), then “Butts Medley” which is a mash up of different songs, and from there you can go to any of their songs because all of them are truly great. Remember these are all aCapella…no instruments (it’s easy to forget)…prepare to have your minds blown!
